Seems like a lot of work to give up on[edit]

Long discussion

WIkipedia will never change. If you abandon this draft now no-one else will take it on. The thing is, no-one cares if the gentleman has an article here or not, so it us up to you to achieve it. In six months this will be viewed as an abandoned draft and deleted. I doubt that is what you want. So please take a step back, then have another go. Forget either articles as examples. Just make this one work. Our role as reviewers is to seek to ensure that an article will not immediately be subject to one of our deletion processes when it is accepted. That is why we push it back to the author. We want to accept articles. Fiddle Faddle 20:43, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your comments, Timtrent. Khoo Kay Kim and others have commended him, and their commendation has been carried in published work I have quoted from. I am asked to produce things that do not exist for the good Doctor. If it does not exist, I cannot give it. What else can I do if everything else which I have already done cannot convince anyone of this man's notability. The decoration he received is Malaysia's equivalent of a KCMG. He got that because Malaysia's King recognised his contributions. That alone ought to prove notability. But it does not prove it with anyone here. Which is why I said I wished there was someone familiar with the subject or from Malaysia or Singapore, who could support and defend what I have done. This is not the first time someone has rejected my work - I have been fortunate, in the past, to have received the help from editors who are from Malaysia or Singapore who were immediately able to put the matter to rest. It has been a very frustrating journey for me, since my first submission in 2006, and every entry has been a battle. I hope no one blames me for feeling I am prejudiced against, or more correctly, the people and things I write about are prejudiced against simply because editors are not familiar with the subjects or the people. I always end up feeling that Wikipedia isn't for everyone around the world but only interested in pushing western concepts, western subjects and western people. That may not be the case, but that is usually how I am left feeling after every single battle. And as there is nothing else that I can say or do, because there really isn't, I am left with giving up on a lost cause. There is no more available information Timtrent. There is nothing with which I can have another go. There is nothing else existing to just make this one work. I thank you for doing your job as a reviewer. This, then is destined to be deleted in six months as an abandoned draft. There is as little point banging heads against walls as there are flogging dead horses. jefferyseow (talk) 21:01, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Sleep on it. Then take some radical steps. Cut material. Nothing is ever lost, it stays in the history. But cut, cut, and cut again. Leave only the bare bones that you can cite and show notability. Remove anything that you cannot cite. That is the key strategy to getting drafts accepted. Once accepted other people will see the piece and start, gradually, to contribute. You, too, will contribute.
Spend time quietly removing material, and then, when it is almost too small for your taste, but while it has the germane and fundamental material, resubmit it.
You have attempted perfection in one jump.
If folk cite his work then that cited work and its citation become valid references. It is as close to a peer review as you will get in this environment.
So, please, do not give up, but take a short pause instead. This will be easier than you fear. Fiddle Faddle 21:10, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your comments, Timtrent. No. I'm done with this.
I agree with Timtrent. Seems like a lot of effort to give up on it. I know, as a reviewing editor, he's put a lot of effort in trying to guide you in the right direction on how to get this into shape for the mainspace. The entire concept of Wikipedia is to encourage editors to contribute. That must be balanced with ensuring that the information published on the site is as vetted as possible. As I said to another editor the day before yesterday, DON'T GET DISCOURAGED. Editors are trying to help you understand the format, style and verification necessary to create a good article. But at the end of the day, no one can make you continue. I hope you do, but it is ultimately solely your decision. I wish you well. Onel5969 (talk) 01:25, 1 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your comments, Onel5969. Perhaps you ought to read my reply on the draft entry page to understand why it is, in my view, IMPOSSIBLE for me to proceed. Rgds. jefferyseow (talk) 01:29, 1 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your suggestions for removal[edit]

Long discussion

I am more than pleased to see your list of suggestions on Corp M's page. While this is always a difficult area, the removal of information, the removal of unsourced material improves Wikipedia.

After you have had time to look at Corp M's edit summaries and work in these articles please feel free to emulate this. Quiet and controlled work on this type of thing behest excellence. I have a feeling you listed them in a fit of pique, but the end result could be excellent. Fiddle Faddle 17:28, 2 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Timtrent, with respect, I have asked time and time again, to have listed out which specific references I have given, that are unsourced. I have already replied to Corp M. Thank you. jefferyseow (talk) 02:00, 3 April 2015 (UTC) p.s. ALL of those in the 'list of suggestions' you refer to, have non-Nobel prizes, including the ones who ARE nobe prize-winners. I understood from the conversation, there, that if it were not a nobel prize, it should not be included - after all, that's why Corp M removed those awards and honours on the page of Malaysia's very First Prime Minister, was it not? That being the case, all awards/honors that are not nobel prizes on ANYONE's pages out to be removed, should they not? Else, I cannot understand the reason why a British or American singer can have their awards/honours listed, and a Malaysian Prime Minister cannot. jefferyseow (talk) 02:00, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Please never use the phrase "with respect" because it means the reverse. I have tried hard to help you. I have found someone who was willing to assist you. I am not interested in your respect, but I detest the usage of the phrase "with respect" to pretend that you have some when you are saying the reverse, as some sort of a sneer. I have lost interest in rendering you any assistance because of this simple phrase. If you want to fight the system here, please enjoy losing every battle. You had my respect before this. Now, with this phrase you have neither my respect nor my assistance. Fiddle Faddle 07:07, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
User:Timtrent With respect, you are entitled to your own opinion, and it seems rude and off-putting for someone to tell me off on my own page, but honestly I feel nothing and am not affected by it. Your feelings, anger or whatever, are your own and nothing to do with me. I cannot help you with your detest. That, I am afraid is your own problem. I could, perhaps advise you on how to deal with your problem but you would probably think that condescending, so I shall refrain from doing so. Whatever you feel about me, I wish you well. jefferyseow (talk) 09:54, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
"With respect" again, after being asked not to. That is militant rudeness. Should you choose you may have the last word here. I just want you to know that I now not only despise your phrasing, but you, too. Do not ping me. Do not come to my talk page. Never speak to me again, unless it is to apologise. Fiddle Faddle 21:03, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
With respect, User:Timtrent, you keep coming to my page. Unbidden. And then... you proceed to tell me what I can or cannot say. On my page. Truly I mean you no disrespect. But regret you cannot see your way through that. So much hate. When I said with respect, I meant it. But I cannot be responsible for how you interpret words or use the language. You come, you sound off, and then get upset when I respond. Oh well. I forgive you in advance. I won't ask you not to stop hating me. As with everything, that is your choice. I won't ask you not to ping me, never to speak to you again. And as for apologies, I have already forgiven you, so there is nothing more that need be done in that regard. God bless. jefferyseow (talk) 23:25, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hong Kong film production[edit]

Please stop adding chinese production to the Hong Kong films. They are very different. Per WP:FILMCAT, and read Cinema of Hong Kong to understand the difference between Hong Kong and Chinese films and why we don't tag every Hong Kong film as a Chinese film. It is literally a world of difference. Andrzejbanas (talk) 19:14, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
