Amuel Gins

First of all, my edits were intended to fix damage by another user (User:WarriorsPride6565), who deleted random words all over the Tanka people article, then added gramatically and factually incorrect information to Miscegenation and Interracial marriage. Reread the previous versions of those sections, and tell me if the English is correct. You may have mistook my large reference templates (with google book links and quotes), as me adding massive amounts of material to the article, and promptly assumed I was vandalizing. Or, if you were looking at the massive blocks of text I pasted, those may have been public domain works which are out of copyright, I am quite liberal with using them.
Secondly, you claimed since my references were books they "do not seem to be easily accessibly". If you looked at my reference templates, you would actual see that I included direct links to google books in every single one of them. See Tanka_people#References. you can see the text of the book yourself.
Materialscientist also reverted my fixes on Tanka people, reverting back to the version vandalized by WarriorsPride6565. Go look at User talk:WarriorsPride6565. He was threatened with blocks for the vandalism. I'm not kidding, He deleted words all over the article and nobody fixed it. Look at Talk:Tanka_people#Temporarily_deleting_sections. Vpayez - Hodgkin Huxley model and similar pages

Jim1138: I am brand new to Wikipedia and want to serve and do a good job of contributing. I had added a published reference (one that can be easily substantiated as valid) to the Hodgkin-Huxley model (and similar) pages. You wrote and said "Please make sure to include an edit summary." First, what does this mean? Second, I noticed that my contributions were removed :( Why? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vpayez1931 (talkcontribs) 17:13, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

Might want to be a little more careful with your reverts. [1] GorillaWarfare (talk) 04:33, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for catching that. I definately need to watch that. I reverted my warning and apologized to user talk:65.184.92.226 Jim1138 (talk) 04:53, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
No problem. I've done the same sort of thing before, too. GorillaWarfare (talk) 05:15, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

Please explain to me why I shouldn't block you for violating the three revert rule at Arabs in Turkey. Magog the Ogre (talk) 16:52, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

Actually I've just gone ahead and blocked the account, because I can't see any rationale under WP:3RR for which you should be exempt. Magog the Ogre (talk) 17:45, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

The number of Arabs living in Turkey is by this reference is > 8 million per Link. User talk:Azadmaster first changes it to 60,000 then to 200,000 and did not remove the source. It looks like "factual errors" and an attempt to "scrub" Arabs from Turkey to me. I had been informed that reverting vandalism was not limited by 3RR, after reading WP:NOT3RR, I could see how this does not necessary fall into the exemption. Jim1138 (talk) 18:48, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
If this is classified as a content dispute, perhaps User_talk:Azadmaster should not be permanently blocked? Jim1138 (talk) 19:10, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
The problem is that User:Sero1988 has quoted (what appears to be) a reliable source showing that the 8 million number is highly inflated.[2] As for the block on Azadmaster, I will get the blocking administrator involved. Magog the Ogre (talk) 20:02, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
All of the edits that I reverted 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 Left the www.turiyearplari.org (8,317,545 Arabs in Turkey) reference just to the right of the 60K / 200K / 8M figure intact and did not add any other reference (that I noticed) refuting the 8M number. As User:Sero1988's reference was not included during my (erroneous?) reverts I did not have any other source to go by. Jim1138 (talk) 20:33, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
That is a good enough reason; I've unblocked your account. I still think you were too quick to revert, but you genuinely believed it to be facts-based vandalism. Sorry for any inconvenience. Magog the Ogre (talk) 20:50, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
I am not sure what lessons to come away with. Slowing down on the revert speed might be a good idea, but how? Should I leave a message on the alleged vandal's talk page? (which goes unanswered more often then not) Wait awhile for an answer then start reverting again? Revert three times then put it on ANI? BTW: do you think an apology is in order? Thanks for unblocking me. It was/is a learning experience, not an inconvenience (thanks for the time off!) Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 23:32, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
If there is any chance that it is a valid content dispute, then leave a message on the person's talk page, yes. And/or on the article's talk page. And if you get no response, you know it was vandalism. Magog the Ogre (talk) 04:27, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
This [3] and [4] were inadequate? Jim1138 (talk) 04:58, 4 March 2012 (UTC)

Hey Jim...

Hey, I don't know if this is where you leave messages as I do not use Wiki that often. I represent Jeffree and he would like for his discography page to be the way he wants it. He does not want to have his label/management to get involved because it's time consuming, so if you could please help me out and ban Devin from editing, Jeffree and I would greatly appreciate it.

I did not delete anything.

I interspersed my comments with those of my opponent. You, on the other hand, deleted my content proposal for Heavy Metal Poisoning Hypothesis, which was easier to read and actually supported the point that prions are caused by Manganese. 137.186.47.81 (talk) 08:22, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

It's a back and forth argument.

Putting all of my arguments in one block makes it hard to know why I am saying one thing or another, or what I am arguing with. Arguments are hard to understand. It was meant to be that way. You hav to think for yourself at some point. 137.186.47.81 (talk) 08:43, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

Interrupting other people is allowed according to that article you pointed at called "bad practice", although I am not sure that I understand the syntax. I can put quotations in for one of us. If a third person joins in the conversation, then I can put square brackets in. Please understand that, short of vandalism, reversions are almost always lazy and crude. It would be more helpful for you to show me what you mean. In other words, I do not understand what you mean by again deleting my section on the Heavy Metal Poisoning Hypothesis. Reversion of honest work is rude. 137.186.47.81 (talk) 08:53, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

Vandalism

I'm not familiar with the ways of doing this and I see there is a lot of hostility toward that but will you please explain to me how my change was vandalism. I understand that it was unsigned and unexplained but it was a poorly constructed sentence with with a fallacy and I improved it. My change makes the criteria fit the previous definition in the Importance Assesment section of the page.--76.182.236.144 (talk) 04:47, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for leaving me a note and asking. I hope this helps. I flagged your revert as vandalism as you essentially said so yourself: Undid revision 480437886 by Jeff G. (talk) to get your attention.. Idk if you just automatically revert things or what but I'd like to see it discussed as to why this makes sense. If you edit a page, it is best to leave an wp:edit summary so that others understand your reasoning. That was the basis for Jeff G's removal of your edit ("Unexplained removal of content") If your edit will likely be controversial, it is best to leave a comment in the talk page and ask for others opinion. There are a number of individuals who monitor edits Wikipedia:Recent changes patrol. If an edit looks suspicious and there is not an edit summary (or it does not make sense), it is often removed. BTW: some atheists do read religious material for discussion / arguement and are very familiar with the topics. If you have a question, ask. Jim1138 (talk) 05:07, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
I'm aware that there are many atheists who are very well informed by I don't think enough so to warrant a special mention. I'm neither an atheist nor a devout christian but I don't agree that atheists are all so intelligent and well educated on religious material that it should be taken as a given. That is a stereotype; even though it's often appreciatively advanced by atheists it is not fundamentally true. There are many atheists who aren't educated on this and do not care to be.--76.182.236.144 (talk) 05:23, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for using a good edit summary. A good summary even if I am annoyed. :) Jim1138 (talk) 05:32, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
Yes, I am also annoyed. I really don't even care that much but it is grammatically awkward, a stereotype, and giving undue credit to a population of people who are frankly already confident enough about their intellectual capabilities lol. Anyways I suppose this has all been good practice. --76.182.236.144 (talk) 05:37, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

Do you know anything about the community of Brookhaven?

The article for the community Brookhaven posted on Wikipedia contained propaganda designed to promote the city hood of Brookhaven. A close check of the statement by the Georgia Senator posted proves Brookhaven is not entirely located in Dekalb County. It is fraught with false information that even a Google check can disprove. The majority of the schools and parks claimed to be in "Brookhaven" are located in other communities or cities. The population is that of many surrounding communities combined. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheTimeTraveler2025 (talkcontribs) 08:43, 8 March 2012 (UTC)

If you have an issue of that nature, probably best to take it up on Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests. If you wp:edit war, you will probably get wp:blocked. Avoid being hoisted with your own petard! Good luck. Jim1138 (talk) 08:53, 8 March 2012 (UTC)

AA has monopolized the recovery market and people should have all the information they can get regarding addiction. The link i provided was published in The Skeptic magazine its not my own research and its doing nothing more than allowing people to think for them selves. I'm sorry if you disagree. but as a recoved addict myself i truely believe in what medication can do. I've been to hundreds maybe thousands of AA meetings they just drove me back to drinking and using.; having to sit there for hours listening to people talk about there drug and alcohol usage isnt the best way to keep you clean...just my opinion though. and im not puting my opinion on there im offering other options. I am new to the whole wikipedia thing. but people have the right to decide what works best for them and it is nearly impossible to find any alternatives tp twelve step. So I gave people a way to find them.(Dmohr123 (talk) 21:12, 8 March 2012 (UTC))

Thanks for the advise

Thanks for the advise ill try that. My only goal is to get the point across that there are other options to consider and many people dont realize this they think they are confined to these twelve step programs...thanks againDmohr123 (talk) 21:32, 8 March 2012 (UTC)

Hi Jim. I was forwarded your name by an editor I respect considerably, Carrite. He wanted me to consider you for a possible future adminship. I stopped by to mention that it's lovely that you're involving yourself in reverting vandalism across Wikipedia. It'll be great to have you as a future administrator with us. In similar situations, I used to leave a different kind of comment, one that was just as coolly written but had a greater impact. Marcus Junius Brutus

In reply to your comment about the lack of a reliable source for my edit to the Brutus page, how come you didn't tell the person who did the Assassin's Creed entry, which I added onto, to put a source in? I can easily put my addition in with the source being the Project Legacy app on Facebook or the appropriate page on the Assassin's Creed Wiki site for why Brutus killed Caesar and evidence of the fact that Caesar was a Templar ally along with Cleopatra. Would that satisfy your requirement? 84.13.114.157 (talk) 01:29, 14 March 2012 (UTC)

Our version should be pretty close, although there are a couple of other comments made after closure that I didn't manage to remove. -- Eraserhead1 <talk> 11:13, 17 March 2012 (UTC)

I have checked the state of the talk page now, only one real comment was added late, the rest of the changes were moving text around, or auto-signs. I have removed the late comment and relocated the section that I included in the close that was on another topic. This seems to be what half the edit war was about. Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. I'm being told that the IP's edits to the Bonita, California page are not vandalism. Personally, I feel it is, but since it's disputable, it's edit war/3rrable. Just a heads up. I've posted on the IP's talk page. AndrewN talk 00:15, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

Yea, seemed to have gotten carried away. WP:NOT3RR allows revert of offensive language, etc. Thanks Jim1138 (talk) 00:15, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
We'll see what happens at AIV. They've been reported for a while. So far, no response from them. AndrewN talk 00:18, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

OMG

I'm so sorry for the warns I'd give you. I don't know what's wrong with my HG. Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 04:42, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

Earlier I tried to update the URL for this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3_%28New_York_City_Subway_service%29 by putting the URL of the new location of the JoeKorNer. The original image was on this page: http://thejoekorner.quuxuum.org/rollsigns/irtend.html which was moved a number of years ago to http://www.thejoekorner.com/rollsigns/irtend.html The actual image is now http://www.thejoekorner.com/rollsigns/irtendno3.gif

I can be reached at joekor@thejoekorner.com

Sorry for the confusion.

Nice job reverting vandalism on Command and Conquer: Generals 2. You even beat me to reverting it, even though I have rollback! Electriccatfish2 (talk) 00:28, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
