[edit] Wikipedia is fun
Sometimes things get rough on here. Vandalism, content disputes, heated arguments - Wikipedia can be a lot of stress. But it's all worth it for those moments when you look through four-year-old delist nominations and see a vote like yours. Makeemlighter (talk) 22:06, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
[edit] The Man from Ironbark
Thank you so much for posting a link to that poem; I enjoyed reading it immensely, though in truth, my "flowing beard is all the go" not due to any dangers of shaving, but simply because I enjoy the shadow it casts. Cheers. -- ToE 11:59, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, I really like it too. We 'studied' it way back in primary school and I've always enjoyed it; Banjo Paterson has some good work. Cheers, --jjron (talk) 08:48, 1 January 2012 (UTC)

[edit] Will you take a look...
at the heart diagram nomination? I meant to ask you to do that a few days ago, but I forgot. Since you had some concerns during the original nomination, I'd like to know if they're addressed to your satisfaction. The nomination looks like it will pass regardless, but I'd appreciate it if you could take a quick look. Thanks! Makeemlighter (talk) 01:27, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
- Personally I can't see that it's much different in terms of the thickness of the ventricle walls, etc, but seems to be well supported. I really don't like the right ventricle looking so much bigger than the left, but looks like that's got the nod. Also left a note on the pending promotion re the left atrium disappearing when you click through the image page. --jjron (talk) 15:31, 10 January 2012 (UTC)

[edit] Which vantage point?
Hi! Regarding File:Melbourne General Cemetery, Melbourne, Aust, jjron, 25.01.10.jpg, I really like it and am curious which vantage point was the photo taken from?--Commander Keane (talk) 07:24, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/USS Arizona after attack on Pearl Harbor
Hello, I'm confused by your votes, if I'm correct here you opposed the edited version and voted to keep the current FP but you also voted to delist here. I've uploaded a new version and tried to fix the problems that you've mentioned, please see how is it, thank you. Thanks. ■ MMXX talk 01:46, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
- Replied at user's talkpage. --jjron (talk) 09:26, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
- I've replied at my talk page, please also see Wikipedia:Picture peer review/Arizona in New York, thank you. ■ MMXX talk 01:00, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
[edit] Disambiguation link notification
Hi. When you recently edited Stephen Silvagni, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sydney Football Club (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

[edit] Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/Everest from Drukair
Hi, I've uploaded a tilt-corrected version of the nominated image File:Mount Everest as seen from Drukair2.jpg. As you have already voted at the nomination (linked above), could you please give some feedback or show a preference between the original file and the new file? Thanks. Crisco 1492 (talk) 11:55, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
- Done. FWIW I can't tell much diff between the two tilt corrected edits and can't be bothered analysing them in detail to decide, so whichever is OK with me. --jjron (talk) 05:47, 5 February 2012 (UTC)
[edit] "why in the bh was this done as a pano?"
Err... cos everybody has a first time! (I've never nominated anything for FP before, and I wasn't entirely sure what was expected as that juncture.) ;) --Mais oui! (talk) 12:10, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
- You coulda changed it when you saw it looked wrong was probably more the point. ;) Actually it was more that I only just changed another one that was incorrectly done as a pano, so I was 'grrr-ing'. :) --jjron (talk) 12:35, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

- And sometimes we just don't bother to check these bleeding obvious links. Just goes to show you can't be too careful. Fixed now. --jjron (talk) 03:39, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
[edit] Floury Baker cicada concerns
Hi. Since you initially raised the issue with this nomination, will you make a note whether your concerns have been addressed? The nomination looks to be a pass with three users' support contingent on that issue. Thanks. Makeemlighter (talk) 21:57, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
- I'm talking about this nomination, by the way. Makeemlighter (talk) 21:58, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
[edit] GOCE March copy edit drive
| Invitation from the Guild of Copy Editors
The Guild of Copy Editors invites you to participate in their March 2012 Backlog elimination drive, a month-long effort to reduce the size of the copy edit backlog. The drive begins on March 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and ends on March 31 at 23:59 (UTC). Our goal for the drive will be to eliminate the remaining 2010 articles from the queue. Barnstars will be awarded to anyone who copy edits more than 4,000 words, and special awards will be given to the top 5 in the following categories: "Number of articles", "Number of words", and "Number of articles of over 5,000 words". We hope to see you there! – Your drive coordinators: Dank, Diannaa, Stfg, and Coordinator emeritus SMasters. 19:40, 20 February 2012 (UTC) To discontinue receiving GOCE newsletters, please remove your name from our mailing list. |
