School songs[edit]

Take a look at WP:LYRICS, my opinion on Alma Mater's/school songs are that they are generally copyrighted material. While it would be appropriate to quote a minimal amount of lyrics as fair-use in an encyclopedic context (ie related use in certain school traditions, etc), publishing the whole set of lyrics on wikipedia with no context or critical comment is potentially problematic. Take a look at WP:COPYRIGHT & WP:NOR. You may want to get other opinions at the Village Pump (policy). Zedla (talk) 23:26, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I agree too, because recently I thought it was ok to put Minnesota Rouser until this edit here, so that should state that North Garland's fight song is copyrighted, but I am still checking if the alma mater for both NG and SG is public domain because of this edit.--Antonio Lopez (talk)00:17, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There's a discussion about this that has been going on at Wikipedia:Centralized discussion/Fight songsZedla (talk) 09:03, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Parsons Prekindergarten School, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Re: Talk page warnings[edit]

You can go to this page, which has a full list of the talk page warnings as well as guidelines of how to use them. If the vandal has been warned four times, report them here. If you want, you can use an automatic tool Twinkle to fight vandalism. Hope that helps. If you have any other question, feel free to ask. Cheers! J.delanoygabsadds 01:19, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding your question[edit]

Sorry about stealing your thunder on that warning. I'm using Twinkle, so it gives me kind of an unfair speed advantage. Anyway! To get someone blocked if they're being a punk, just go to wp:aiv and put a report there in the user-reported section. When you edit the section, there'll be some instructions on how to format your report. There's a standardized way to do it (which it shows you), but in short, you just provide their IP or name and a quick summary of what they've done. The most common last straw for getting blocked is vandalizing or other tomfoolery after they've been given their final warning. Unless it's REALLY bad, most admins want them to have gotten 2-3 warnings, with one of them clearly indicated as their last chance. I hope that helps! Poke me again if you have other questions. - Vianello (talk) 07:24, 10 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's normal. Cluebot can outdraw just about anybody. It really only tends to catch massive page-blanks or edits with obscenities though. The rest is where we come in. Keep up the good work, amigo! - Vianello (talk) 07:29, 10 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Template:2007 TEA campus rating:NR requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 05:59, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Thanksgiving[edit]

There was a MAJORLY inappropriate image that was under the entire page. I deleted one thing and it made it go away, so hopefully it worked

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
