Map of China colors[edit]

Hi, I am currently working on an SVG map showing languages spoken in China on the basis of your wonderful SVG map of China (File:China_blank_map.svg). However I just noticed, that you started using the recommended colors of the Wikipedia:WikiProject_Maps, but changed the brown shade of the sourrounding land to green. What was the reason for this change? Because of the vast amount of maps that have accumulated yet, I think we should stick to a uniform set of colors. The guys over at the Wikipedia:WikiProject_Indian_maps have done a really great job already based on the recommended colors, that I already mentioned. So is there in your eyes anything against using these same colors with the blank map of China similar to that one from India? Maybe it can serve as the basis for a similar project on Chinese maps in the future. • Madden (talk) 21:59, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

Hi, the colours were changed because there were complaints that it was difficult to distinguish between disputed areas the PRC controls and disputed areas the PRC doesn't control. So it was really just to make it easier to distinguish different areas by using more contrasting colours. --Joowwww (talk) 13:30, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

What do you think about changing the colours back to match the WikiProject standards (change green back to light brown), but maintain a more contrasting colour for the disputed areas? • Madden (talk) 10:03, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

Map at Cornish nationalism[edit]

I think you drew up the original map - but there is a (minor but irritating) problem in that it shows the Isle of Man and Channel Islands as part of the UK, which they are not. Any chance of correcting it? Ghmyrtle (talk) 10:09, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

Credo Reference Update & Survey (your opinion requested)[edit]

Credo Reference, who generously donated 400 free Credo 250 research accounts to Wikipedia editors over the past two years, has offered to expand the program to include 100 additional reference resources. Credo wants Wikipedia editors to select which resources they want most. So, we put together a quick survey to do that:

It also asks some basic questions about what you like about the Credo program and what you might want to improve.

At this time only the initial 400 editors have accounts, but even if you do not have an account, you still might want to weigh in on which resources would be most valuable for the community (for example, through WikiProject Resource Exchange).

Also, if you have an account but no longer want to use it, please leave me a note so another editor can take your spot.

If you have any other questions or comments, drop by my talk page or email me at wikiocaasi@yahoo.com. Cheers! Ocaasi t | c 17:21, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Sky city[edit]

Hello,

I noticed that you were involved in WikiProject Skyscrapers, and I thought you could help me. I am trying to take Skycity to DYK, considering what an interesting hook it will make. For which, I intend to expand the article as much as I can (to meet DYK expansion standards). For this I request your help to expanding the article and making it a truly great hook.

I am trying to keep all edits at User:TheOriginalSoni/Sky city so that we have more than the traditional 7 days to finish this hook. Hope you shall help!!!

Thanks and cheers!! TheOriginalSoni (talk) 18:13, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
