Battle Cross

a decision made by the game designers that did not surprise anyone, oh man, I kinda giggled. I created the article 2 years ago but all the text were added by... you know who. It's his style/trademark, readers have to deal with it, though I confess I never read that text he added. About those links you removed, they can't stay even as external links? 2 or 3 of them are really useful... Anyway, retro game Guru said that he is high-functioning autistic (that's why he is so obsessed with his number of edits...). It's really sad but whatever. Disambiguation- Incorrect "correction" of mistake

Hi,

A few months back you moved the article Gauntlet (Donald R. Lebeau video game) to Gauntlet (1984 video game) quoting the rule that we should "Dab by year first".

This only applies if the year itself is sufficient to clearly identify that specific game. Since you'd have seen (I'm assuming you checked first) that there were two unrelated games called "Gauntlet" released in 1984, the "corrected" title could apply to either, and hence isn't a suitable qualifier. For this reason, I've moved the article back to its original title.

The reason the hatnote didn't mention the other 1984 game specifically is because it wasn't necessary- the original title (Gauntlet (Donald R. Lebeau video game)) didn't differentiate the game by year, and identified it uniquely. Since it was unlikely anyone looking for the Micro Power game would have arrived directly (and mistakenly) at this article, it wasn't necessary to specifically clarify or mention it in the hatnote; the generic link was enough.

BTW, what I meant was that I intended "no offence" towards you. I think I said what I wanted to say, and didn't intend to make a bigger deal of it than that. :-) All the best, Ubcule (talk) 21:41, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

I felt the spammy nature of that blockquote violated this part "An editor has expressed a concern that this Section lends undue weight to certain ideas, incidents, controversies or matters relative to the article subject as a whole. Please help to create a more balanced presentation." which I had recently looked up only to find you removed it.

I wasn't trying to be adversarial, I just wanted the ridiculous derailing of the article to be removed. It's such a sensitive topic to feel like we're selling out and letting spammers of that fund collect donations via the 3 url links after the block quote. Hey Jtalledo. Hydao here. Yes, I know it is not right at all creating another account (lame username and with a typo lol) but I'm doing this for the good of English Wikipedia.

Yesterday I sent This Message to the administrator who blocked gvnayr, not sure if he/she is still active anyway...

And I just noticed now that you basically removed all the text added by gvnayr in few articles.. this is not life jtalledo, gvnayr make 50 edits like crazy and then you (or anyone else) basically remove all the "sh*t" with 2 or 3 edits. waste of time, calories, neurons, etc.

Jtalledo, GVnayR (talk · contribs) has a very serious mental issue. I think it is better "ignoring" him, there's no hope for him, really. Now he started changing "frameless" to "border". I guess the creature suddenly got sick of "frameless". Months ago he made hundreads or thousands of edits (changing XXXpx to frameless), sadly frameless is not "fashion" anymore. Small Soldiers

Hi, please use the "undo" button rather than the "reject" option from pending changes when the edit you're reverting is not vandalism. Pending changes is designed to keep vandalism out of the live version (the one readers see); it's not supposed to be used for content control beyond screening for disruptive edits, and deprecating a revision after it has been accepted is not on. Pin-Bot page moves

Hey there. Got a couple questions for you about the recent page moves for the Pin(something)Bot articles. First off, was there a discussion on moving these articles? If so, where was it? Just curious.

On the pinball article: I think the new name has three significant problems, two related to policy: First, the name is effectively all-caps, which I thought was reserved for common acronyms (though I can't seem to find a policy/guideline that discourages that - I know there was one at one point, but it may have been dropped). Second, the dot in the middle of the name is basically untypable without knowing its escape sequence, which makes it impractical for the majority of users. WP:TSC discourages this - if it's determined that PIN(dot)BOT is truly the most appropriate title, we need other forms of the title to redirect to it.

Which leads me to my third issue: You moved Pin*Bot (video game) to Pin Bot, removing the disambiguation on the NES title. I believe this is likely to cause confusion, both because the pinball article is unquestionably the primary article on this topic (and the NES game is a derivative), and also because people might expect Pin Bot to redirect to PIN(dot)BOT (the pinball article). I think regardless of whether there's any punctuation in the NES title, we should keep the "(video game)" disambig and also put disambig links at the top of each article linking to the other.

In re Total Carnage revision

I am positive that in the arcade version the third character is the host from Smash TV. I remember it because I was laughing so hard when he came up my character got killed. Unfortunately, I have no evidence other than my memory.

http://www.destructoid.com/retrose-tinted-total-carnage-111855.phtml has the quote, "If you manage to have 120 of them by the end of the game, you enter a bonus level called the Pleasure Domes, filled with cash, prizes and Smash T.V.'s Mutoid Man." But the version he reviewed and posted screenshots from is the SNES version.

If I ever see the arcade version again, I'm willing to waste a roll of quarters to see if my memory is correct. Plus I have someone ready to take pictures. Unfortunately it's a mighty big IF. Wd40 (talk) 12:48, 15 August 2013 (UTC)

It's possible. Then again when they make fewer than 2000 cabinets, ANY one of them is rare. And it's possible that the port to the game consoles is slightly different from the cabinets.
