Wikipedia and Society Comm535 Project[edit]

Hello Kippelboy! I got your name from my professor Andrew Lih. I am currently working on my final project for my Wikipedia class and could use your expertise. I am comparing Spanish Wikipedia and English Wikipedia to see if there is any difference between how certain topics are covered depending on the region and its culture. Also I would like to ask a user like you who works on both Wikipedia to help me understand these differences (if they exist) and why do you think they happen. My most important question has to be: why do you think that English Wikipedia has over 4 million articles while Spanish Wikipedia only has over 1 million even if the regions that Spanish Wikipedia services are more than that of English Wikipedia? I might have more questions further along the project and will keep posting them here so I can get your professional opinion. Thank you very much for your help,

Disambiguation link notification for May 19[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Centre de Documentació i Museu de les Arts Escèniques, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Magic (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Gavanzo[edit]

Gavanzo (talk · contribs) is basically a single-purpose account set up to edit war over the Spanish/Catalan controversy on the side of the Spanish. Your edit to Joan Miro is of no avail, he will fight you over it tooth and nail. Sorry but he appears to have watchlisted several high-profile Catalan bios and pops up to revert anyone who disagrees with him. Elizium23 (talk) 04:51, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

Controversy on the side of Spanish? I have in a watchlist some articles that are usually not following the Wikipedia standards widely discussed. Evidence: Wikipedia:NCGN#Multiple_local_names and Wikipedia_talk:Article_titles/Archive_31#Spanish.2FCatalan_double_names. Fight against you? I am using in Antoni_Gaudí the formula that you agreed with someone else in Talk:Salvador_Dalí#Born_in_Catalonia ! . And my last edit in Joan Miró was a revertion from this one http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Joan_Mir%C3%B3&diff=560589481&oldid=557706857 , an edit with no justification, and no comments. So, Elizium23 (talk · contribs), what is your accusation? What am i doing wrong? Gavanzo (talk) 07:45, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

Reply to Toronto FC 2014 Jersey Numbers[edit]

Thanks for the heads up, I just took the "March" header out as of now to make it look cleaner, not a problem for it returning. Ill use the cite tab next time, I know how for the most part when editing an article but didnt know if it was the same protocol for a number source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Doucet3 (talkcontribs) 18:39, 18 December 2013 (UTC)

January 2014[edit]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Antoni Miralda may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • * ''[[El Internacional Tapas Bar & Restaurant]''

Dear Kippelboy: Thanks for alerting me to the CCC. I'll sign up, but unfortunately I'm doing a lot of traveling this next month, so I won't be able to contribute much (and am defintely not a threat to win).  :-) Good luck to you and the others in the contest. Please have a look at Talk:Joan Alcover; the issue may affect in the points article I claimed for the Finnish version in Catalan challenge. (Ps. and thanks for organising the challenge) --Tappinen (talk) 09:47, 23 March 2014 (UTC)

Hi. I have such question. How will winners of Catalan culture challenge be awarded? Will they receive an e-mail? Sorry for mistakes, I don't know English pretty well. --Artificial123 (talk) 08:28, 3 April 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Alfons Borrell i Palazón[edit]

Hello Kippelboy,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Alfons Borrell i Palazón for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. valereee (talk) 20:34, 5 April 2014 (UTC)

I removed the speedy of course; the editor involved needs some counseling. DGG ( talk ) 20:37, 5 April 2014 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Yves Bélorgey[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Yves Bélorgey has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence of notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. About E-mail[edit]

Hi Kippelboy, thanks for the great news! I'm very much happy to know the news. Now will you please tell me what should I include in my mail? You wrote that the address is glam®wikimedia.cat. About the Catalan challenge[edit]

Bon dia. Unfortunately I knew this was bound to happen. If I'm not wrong contributions had to cease at 23:59 UTC + 1, that is my time zone. Most of the other contributions after my last ones were made later on and after 23:00 UTC which seems to be wikipedia time... I beg you to take a closer look, I had left a note about this but I'm afraid no one except Artificial noticed it. Thank you, take care, Claudi/Capsot (talk) 09:18, 30 April 2014 (UTC)
