Recreation of deleted material[edit]

Thanks As you can see from my recent contributions (e.g. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Last Rites (Megadeth EP)), I'm on this one. Thanks. I hope this user will slow down and take the time to read the policies and guidelines instead of charging ahead ignoring them. I know I've had my scrapes with the rules before, but I straightened up and flew right and I actually like working on Wikipedia. He could, too if he'd give it a shot. re: Hook in Mouth[edit]

Hmm, it seems that you were correct concerning Hook in Mouth as a single. I re-checked my references, and it seems that SFSGSW only had 4 singles. So I altered Hook in Mouth back into a song. Thanks for the heads up!

Also, Rust in Peace has been completely re-written for it to meet GA quality. I'm currently proof-reading it thoroughly but it could use a peer review, if you have the time. Bruce Campbell (talk) 01:17, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

Re:Psychopathy Red redirect[edit]

The reason why "Psychopathy Red" was redirected is because it did not meet WP:NSONGS. The same goes for all other uncreated Slayer song articles. PLUS wouldn't you love to see Slayer become a good topic??? The progress is currently 24 out of 29 articles GA or higher (not including the recent addition of "Hate Worldwide"). I'm currently working on it (see here). You can ALSO see the progress of GT below:

re: Edit[edit]

My edit had a clear edit summary. And a valid one. Please leave your personal opinions out before reverting and issuing useless templates. Wikipedia is based on WP:V. Not your opinion. Whitesnake have no glam metal in the audio catalogue. One fashion faux pas in one music video does not warrant a label which is intended to describe musical style. Not choice of trouser fabric. Hope that clears things up for you. 198.164.219.128 (talk) 05:21, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

Your edits are based on your opinions. Its commonly associated with glam metal, like it or not. I personally could give a rat's behind, either way. I was simply reverting unsourced changes. Your opinion means nothing, unless you can source it, which you have not done. And you need to stop clearing your talk page whenever anyone says something you disagree with--L1A1 FAL (talk) 05:29, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

Demo albums[edit]

WP:MUSIC Demos can be notable, but generally aren't. They are basically subject to the same criteria as any other topic: are there reliable, third-party sources that cover it? —Justin (koavf)TCM☯ 23:16, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

Redirect Cowboys from Hell: The Demos should probably be redirected and if any useful material can be found to cite, then information about this demo album can be incorporated into Cowboys from Hell. If sources can't be found, then the redirect can be deleted as well. I say go for it. —Justin (koavf)TCM☯ 00:08, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Emotional.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

Hi there. In you WP:CSD#A10 rationale you said that there was nothing that couldn't be included in the M1911 pistol article. Mercenaries/military contractors issue[edit]

I'm frankly not sure. I wasn't the one who added that citation originally. My guess is someone was looking for reliable sources claiming the NTC employs mercenaries, and they added the first article from a credible source they could find without reading it. It doesn't seem to have much bearing on the discussion at all, as it just reports that some British military brass like the idea, so I would support its removal from the infobox. -Kudzu1 (talk) 18:40, 6 August 2011 (UTC)

Review[edit]

You are misinformed. As a reviewer, I am meant to review the article and decide if it is GA-worthy. I don't know here you got the idea that a GA reviewer is a copy-editor, who fixes all the issues. Usually, when an article is pretty thorough, reviewers post an outline of all issues. However, unfortunately, the article you nominated was very under-prepared and would not have been passed or reviewed by anyone. If you would like, I would gladly re-review once you have -redone the article.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 18:48, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

Hey again. I appreciate you reaching out to me for peace. I agree to everything, however, please leave the assessment page open for a little. I really want you to see what other editors have to say (I have strong faith they will not side with your opinion). I honestly want it to prove to you that my intentions were not dismissive, but that the article was indeed under-prepared. Do not worry, by tomorrow someone will have commented. Then, by all means close it and let's move on :)--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 04:38, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
Sure, sounds good. I just want you yourself to receive feedback from other editors, so you'll believe me. Take care!--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 04:46, 4 September 2011 (UTC)

RE: Question on a review for Thirteen[edit]

I'm not familiar with it either, and I have to agree that it does seem like a self-published blog (judging by the site's header I wouldn't be surprised if it's run by the band Murdock). Also, their archive only seems to have 34 reviews in it, so it seems unlikely. If it is the site of an Irish magazine then they really need better quality control; they missed out the "h" in Iced Earth and don't seem to be able to write a proper English sentence (e.g. "Finnish doom / melodic death metallers returns with another fine sad album… "). If is really is a "well known and noteworthy Irish metal webzine" then they should be able to prove it. I certainly can't find any mention of it anywhere. Incidentally, the site appears to be hosted in the US, although that's not necessarily an indication that it isn't run from Ireland. Alphathon /'æɫfə.θɒn/ (talk) 15:44, 29 October 2011 (UTC)

Long time no see...[edit]

Pretty amazing work on Thirteen (Megadeth album). Are you still interested in getting that album to GA? Because if you are I'd be willing to help sort it out. After listening to it I really got into a Deth mood again and wanted to help out. Bruce Campbell (talk) 00:56, 4 November 2011 (UTC)

Well, the references all look good, which to me is always the main hindrance when making an article because those always give me the most trouble. So the most important thing is there.

Other than that, it needs an improved lead section (no issue there), some paragraphs need to be fixed and the song section needs to be changed into a composition section or something, and I could upload some audio samples if needed. Are you going to wait a month or so for all that information to be available and then fix up the article then, or fix it up now while you wait? Bruce Campbell (talk) 15:13, 5 November 2011 (UTC)

Also, I have a very morbid fascination with the Lulu article, which you appear to be the top contributor on. It really needs a lead section, a composition section (especially since the composition is such a large reason for it's reception) and the reception section needs a small overhaul because it violates the 10 only rule with review templates. Do you mind if I tinker around with the article a bit? You can revert any of my edits if you don't like them. Bruce Campbell (talk) 16:53, 5 November 2011 (UTC)

On the Lulu article, I added a lead, changed some things up a bit, fixed up the reception section, added an audio sample and did some revisions here and there, not 100% sure about the references though. Bruce Campbell (talk) 21:35, 5 November 2011 (UTC)

You have full permission to change whatever you want on it, I was just toying around with it. lol Bruce Campbell (talk) 22:06, 5 November 2011 (UTC)

RE: Seeking an opinion[edit]

I wouldn't be against it. I haven't given either of them a good look over (with regard to the similarities I mean), so can't really say. I'd say out of the two I'd favour a merge (which would result in a redirect anyway), even if that merge is only to retain the infobox or whatever. There is a third option though - splitting the Public Enemy No. 1 info from the Thirteen article. Again, I'd have to give them a proper looking over before I could really say either way, but in principle I think that might be a better option.

Cheers for the Barnstar by the way. Face-smile.svg

Alphathon /'æɫfə.θɒn/ (talk) 21:09, 14 November 2011 (UTC)

As a side note, both version of the info read like they're glossing over details somewhat (like they've been whittled down to the bare minimum), so it's certainly possible that more could be added. Alphathon /'æɫfə.θɒn/ (talk) 21:19, 14 November 2011 (UTC)

1999 and 2000 Demo[edit]

I have removed the PRODS from both articles, as they were not eligible based on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/1999 Demo, they will have to go to AfD to be deleted.--kelapstick(bainuu) 04:32, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

And now your AFD nomination is completely fouled up -- an old AFD is appearing on the log page, and your edit history doesn't show a current one being created. Hullaballoo Wolfowitz (talk) 01:16, 30 March 2012 (UTC)

You know, if you just read the directions at WP:AFD, you'd learn how to do it correctly. It's also not helpful to leave the wrong AFD discussion in the log indefinitely; once you saw it was messed up, you should have removed it. Hullaballoo Wolfowitz (talk) 01:27, 30 March 2012 (UTC)
Replied to question on my talk page. --kelapstick(bainuu) 01:35, 30 March 2012 (UTC)
Just replace the AFD templates on the articles with {{subst:afx}}, then start the deletion discussion manually, then manually transclude it to WP:AFD. This is how you had to do it before Twinkle :D --kelapstick(bainuu) 01:41, 30 March 2012 (UTC)
Part of the reason it is messed up is likely because the original deletion discussion for 2000 Demo is actually a redirect to 1999 Demo's discussion, so the page exists, but no discussion took place at it.--kelapstick(bainuu) 01:44, 30 March 2012 (UTC)
You still haven't transcluded the discussions to the main AfD page.--kelapstick(bainuu) 05:58, 30 March 2012 (UTC)
It's like wiki linking, except you use {{xxx}} instead. Go to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Log/2012 March 30, edit it, and add the two pages to the top of the list as I showed. Warren Harding[edit]

From Wikipedia's guidelines, For example: the statement: "Paris is the capital of France" needs no source, because no one is likely to object to it and we know that sources exist for it, plus it is common knowledge. The statement is attributable, even if not attributed.

Despite the independantly measurable improvements in the economy, Harding remains ranked amongst the worst presidents in history by some people. It has been suggested that his presidency provides clear evidence of villification of truly democratic economic conservatives. Politicians may protect campaign contributers, friends who are government employees, other business relationships, other interests, and their political careers, through villification of democratic economic conservatives. Slander will then spread through a society. Economic success is one of the key interests of democratic voters. The seemingly inexplicable occurance of both a clearly successful economic policy, and an exceptionally poor ranking, is not necessarily unexplainable.

Don't worry I can find references from people who agree. Yeesh. Are you actually policing to ensure that this information needs an independant reference? Clearly it's in extremely poor taste to censor it. Paris is the capital of France dude. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.210.248.223 (talk) 22:34, 4 July 2012 (UTC)

You weren't inferring that "Paris is the capital of France" though. You were making a detailed, original assessment, and original assessments are not encyclopedic. If you find a source that features a noted historian or economist or something critiquing Harding's administration, please feel free to cite that and integrate it into the article content. Also, you might want to clarify whether by using the term "democratic" if you are referring to the Democratic party, which still had a conservative wing at the time, or the democratic system - the way you're putting it is a little ambiguous.--L1A1 FAL (talk) 22:46, 4 July 2012 (UTC)

I'll clean up the english and find some references. Excessive expenditures are often undemocratic, voters often want less of their money spent.

I'm half joking about Paris being the capital of France. The inexplicable coincidence has been noted by others besides myself. It's hard not to be opinionated given some of the coincidences I've noted. This subject matter really needs a detailed statistical study to elucidate the pattern of behavior.

Genre[edit]

"L1A1 FAL",

Spending a disproportionate amount of time on Wikipedia does not endow one with proper critical thinking skills. You might understand how to execute on technical aspects and will surely accumulate approval and accolades from many editors in similar predicaments but it doesn't resolve other problems.

I'm very concerned with your edits. They are saturated with opinion - as someone mentions on your own talk page. You keep stating that you only infuse what you do into an article where a source is lacking, however what you do is replace innocuous elements in the general discourse of the article with your opinion.

One huge concern I have is you don't seem to understand what the word "genre" means:

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/genre

Your edits, based on a really misguided understanding of what the word means are a huge concern. There are some editors here who are a bit more seasoned and knowledgeable. You may want to watch how quickly you jump the gun to edit articles. I think you need to spend more time writing (it will certainly help you polish up on vocabulary) than editing others' hard work out. You certainly demonstrate talent - particularly in investing time here... but you need a bit more polish in your language skills.

Greek - Turkish Relations[edit]

You have deleted my change based on my being "non-neutral". However the original version of the entry is itself non-neutral. It's said "...The Turkish F-16 aircraft crashed into the Greek F-16 aircraft..." This is not true as explained by the statement of the Turkish Ministry of External Affairs I have given as a reference which states "..a Greek F-16 aircraft crashed into a Turkish F-16 aircraft from the rear bottom..." and this is clealy a different story. I have seen video footage captured by the wingman of the crashed F-16, before the pilot ejects, showing clearly the damage UNDER the plane (i.e. it was crashed into by the Greek plane rather than crashed into the Greek plane). Unfortunately I cannot receive permission to add this footage. Nevertheless, the current version is still not true according my explanation below :

There are 2 given references for the case : One is that of a Greek newspaper article (which is not available on line !!!) and the other is that of the Turkish Ministry. What's cited in the former reference is not known but the latter source clearly cites that "..Greek F-16 aircraft crashed into a Turkish .F-16 aircraft from the rear bottom...". Based on these sources, one of which is not available; -How can you say that the current version is true ? -How can you be sure this (unavailable source's depiction of the story) is true and is a neutral point of view ? -How can the current version be phrased saying "...The Turkish F-16 aircraft crashed into the Greek F-16 aircraft..." without reliable and neutral sources ?

I have cited from an available source and made a revision accordingly. If you cannot provide a reliable and neutral source (which should be available to us all) for the existing version, then you have to undo the change you have done. Otherwise, what you have done would not be a neutral action I believe.

I have acted in good faith and tried to correct a mistake but I have been alleged to be not neutral which I do not accept at all. Please kindly refer to my objections and make necessary changes accordingly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by THEWISEOLDTURK (talkcontribs) 01:10, 22 July 2012 (UTC)

noted--L1A1 FAL (talk) 03:34, 22 July 2012 (UTC)

All right; I might have added a view which to some may be biased. However, the previous version was definitely biased and citing no reliable, neutral, and available references and needed to be edited anyway. Therefore, in order to eliminate this mistake without causing further conflict, I have re-edited the whole sub-entry deleting the "who is to blame?" part; although this new version does not tell the whole story, no one can suggest it to being biased in anyway. In the meantime, I'll try to get hold of written permission/approval for the video footage I had mentioned about; if and when I can get it, I'll upload it and add a reference link to the entry accordingly. Regards. THEWISEOLDTURK (talk) 10:58, 22 July 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Rhodesiacamo.jpg[edit]

A tag has been placed on File:Rhodesiacamo.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Wow, you're on the ball. That was uploaded about a year and a half ago! A "blatant copyright violation" huh? Not really sure how a geometric pattern originating in a country that ceased to exist over 30 years ago falls under that category, but whatever.--L1A1 FAL (talk) 16:18, 5 September 2012 (UTC)

I was wondering...[edit]

What's the difference between thrash and speed metal? I've read on the debut albums by Metallica and Megadeth that they are thrash and speed the same time. But what's more interesting to me is the introduction speech by Flee, when Metallica entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and he classified the band's music in the thrash/speed metal genre. With that in mind, I think the first 4 Megadeth albums should be named as speed/thrash because of their similar sound, and also Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets as thrash/speed, maybe because there are slower songs compared to Kill 'Em All.--Вик Ретлхед (talk) 06:04, 4 October 2012 (UTC)

Hey[edit]

Long time no see! Since the process takes forever, and both articles were fairly short, I reviewed both The System Has Failed and The World Needs a Hero and had some quick concerns for both. Both can be passed if they're fixed. If you have any concerns with my review or think anything was unreasonable or questionable, or need any assistance making any changes, let me know. Bruce Campbell (talk) 21:57, 15 October 2012 (UTC)

Good to hear. I actually do own the book so if you're interested in working on further Megadeth articles, let me know. You would be surprised how much content you can squeeze from just a few sources; both Fantastic Wounds and Abominations (album) are about as obscure as metal albums get, but I managed to get alot of content from the few reviews I had. Anyway, I think I'm going to work on Rust in Peace since it's still in pretty good condition since from when I worked on it last year. Bruce Campbell (talk) 02:21, 16 October 2012 (UTC)

United Forces[edit]

I have removed your CSD A7 tag on United Forces because "The criterion does not apply to any article that makes any credible claim of significance or importance even if the claim is not supported by a reliable source or does not qualify on Wikipedia's notability guidelines." If you think it is needed, you may propose deletion, or list the article at articles for deletion. :) -- Cheers, Riley 14:29, 25 February 2013 (UTC)

Hello, L1A1 FAL. You have new messages at Eddyspeeder's talk page.

Hey man, I was just researching where Lita Ford's involvement originated from. I saw in an early edit that her name was added along with other guest musicians. Do you know which source mentioned her name? I'd like to clear up whether she was involved at some point or not. Thanks ;-) --Eddyspeeder (talk) 18:41, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
Cool man, and thanks for your speedy reply! I indeed noticed that Lita Ford was mentioned on BM in the article you've linked, so I've decided to explain Lita's involvement this way, making it clear that she is quite likely not on the album, but she is still fairly close to the fire. Also, let me take the opportunity to tell you I am very happy about the way we're collaborating on that other article. I'm aware you're watching those edits :-) News on it has been fairly sporadic after March 25, but I've heard people speculate any big announcements might strategically be held off until after Frequency Unknown got released, which I guess makes sense. --Eddyspeeder (talk) 20:13, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the tip, I paraphrased Ford's decision as you suggested. Much better that way. As for my experience with album ratings, I've brought several (less high-profile) album articles up to "C" standard, which is probably the best attainable, because there usually is not much information available about the production. Frequency Unknown is the biggest album page I've done so far. Someone rated it "Start" recently, but that was before reviews had come in. Chart positions and such aren't my cup of tea, so I hope someone else will add those, but I think I'll try seeing how far I can get with that one; it'll be a good tryout for the article about the album with Todd La Torre. :-) --Eddyspeeder (talk) 15:37, 24 April 2013 (UTC)
Wow, great work on Kings & Thieves. Given its lack of success, I felt it wasn't something worth putting a lot of work in (and possibly being put up for a notability discussion). I know a thing or two to add to this article, but it isn't a high priority for me. Meanwhile, I'll keep my eyes open for chart positions and will mention them in the Frequency Unknown article once known. I'm excited that you're motivated to help me with getting these articles to a higher quality level. We can take it slow, I won't be expecting a response from you on everything right away; it's just very pleasant to know that there's someone who can point out what I have overlooked. It's a great way of learning to become a better article writer! --Eddyspeeder (talk) 23:33, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
And a heads up: at the Queensrÿche Facebook page, there has been an update on the album artwork every day. Nine hours ago was the "final album teaser before the big reveal", so that one is likely coming tomorrow. --Eddyspeeder (talk) 01:15, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
Haha, yep, they beat us to the punch! I was AFK for a bit. I moved everything we had prepared into the article now by hand. It's fine ;-) --Eddyspeeder (talk) 20:14, 29 April 2013 (UTC)

Undoing a contribution I made[edit]

Hi L1A1 FAL. I saw you undid a contribution I made to the Gulf War page. I'm new to wikipedia, at least as an editor/contributor. Of course, I've been using wikipedia for a long time as a work of reference. I am curious to knwo why you did this. Believe me, I respect your decision, but I still don't understand. You say I use POV language. I looked that up: where exactly do you find I use POV language in stead of NPOV? The text I use is a quotation from a book that was the basis for an indictment of President George H.W. Bush and others in the U.S. Government for war crimes on 19 different charges. The International War Crimes Tribunal in New York, concluded on February 29th 1992: "The members of the International War Crimes Tribunal finds each of the named accused Guilty on the basis of the evidence against them and that each of the nineteen crimes alleged in the Initial Complaint, attached hereto, has been established to have been committed beyond a reasonable doubt." To me, that is quite sound evidence. Can you please let me know what I should change to my contribution, in your opinion, to make it according to NPOV?

Undid my edits[edit]

On the Megadeth page, I have set up links that directly come from the Megadeth site itself. It is, bar none, the best proof available to anyone looking for knowledge about the band. It is stated there that Cryptic Writings scored Platinum status in 1998, and the Risk album became Gold the year of its release. What comes from the band itself is genuine fact, and nothing can prove otherwise. In the Megadeth documentary as well, it states that CW went Platinum and Risk went Gold. Look it up for yourself; it's on youtube.

As for the amount of albums sold, Megadeth's facebook is monitored by admins, not the band themselves. They take their information directly from this site, Wikipedia. I have proof of this, as I am the original one to have posted that they had sold 38 million albums worldwide. After doing further research, I found that they had sold 40 million. And just last month I discovered their actual number is above 50 million due to a video about them vs. Metallica on youtube. The video provided factual evidence supporting their theories, including the albums sales numbers given. With all due respect, please correct your mistakes, and do not remove my post from their page again. I support all of my findings with evidence that isn't Facebook nonsense, and I don't spend hours doing so only to have it ruined by someone who doesn't do their research. Thank you, and have a nice day. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thebuffguy (talkcontribs) 11:37, 14 April 2013 (UTC)

Removed a Metal Blast review from the Soulfly Album[edit]

Hello, This account was created with the specific intent of adding information gathered from our interviews and posting our reviews. There is absolutely no promotion of our website other than the name (we haven't even created a page for the site!). We are a legitimate magazine that deals with every major record label in the world and regularly conduct interviews with some of the biggest names in the genre. To remove the review exclusively because it was posted by ourselves is ridiculous. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MetalBlastZine (talkcontribs) 18:14, 23 May 2013 (UTC)

Youthanasia bonus tracks[edit]

So why do they not need to be collapsed? I've seen a fair few articles with collapsible bonus track listings (whether it's just the one track or many in the case of Youthanasia), and it always seemed like good practice to me—keeps things neat and tidy, with less scrolling. I take it you disagree with said practice? Mac Dreamstate (talk) 01:53, 31 May 2013 (UTC)

I wanna rock[edit]

On this edit, an IP added two unsourced genres and therefore I reverted the edit. Even if you don't see a consensus for the genre, since the genre wasn't debated, still, the IP didn't add a discussion to the talk page or add sources thus made it disruptive. For a long long time the genre on that page said simply heavy metal, therefore a source should be provided and also no discussion = no change. That's why I reverted the edit, although wiki had two sources that reviews the album the song was on, so I added those sources, and they describes the song as heavy metal. Also sorry about the "consensus" thing I was mistaken about, but I just reverted unsourced genres. It's not like its okay for me to go to a megadeth page and call them punk rock or death metal without a source. But these sources pretty much describe it as a metal song. Also glam isn't the only genre unsourced, hard rock was as well 70.192.201.87 (talk) 18:55, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

Hey man, just wanted to tell you that I've started an article on Geoff Tate's next studio album, due to the many comments he's made about that in recent interviews that I couldn't fit into the Frequency Unknown article. I gladly invite you to contribute to it any time you like. It might also not be long before such an article needs to be started on the version of Queensrÿche with La Torre; would it be a problem for you if I started that one under my account once I have a need for it? Oh also, Queensrÿche (album) is shaping up nicely. I have yet to write the reviews section, but hope to get that bit done soon as well. So Far, So Good... So What![edit]

Hi,

I`m not as involved as before so it took me a while to take a good look at the article.

Other could rate it a B, as for me, let me tell you a couple of thing that it lacks:

Firstly, the lead section has no references, even if you reference the info later, the lead section is the first thing the reader will see and it needs to be referenced.

Secondly, images are needed for an article to take off, the cover art is not enough

And finally, a music sample is always a nice addition even if is not specifically required.

I hope this helps. Zidane tribal (talk) 02:21, 14 November 2013 (UTC)

Megadeth[edit]

Hi, friend. Just to ask for some help over the So Far, So Good section in the main article. Can you check whether the quotes from the liner notes in the first paragraph are correct? Also a little prose tweaking would be welcomed there since the text sounds somehow confusing for the first-time reader. Thanks and everything the best.--Вик Ретлхед (talk) 21:42, 6 December 2013 (UTC)

Me again. Now I need some assistance over the first two paragraphs about Cryptic Writings. I guess some cites from the booklet might come handy. Cheers.--Вик Ретлхед (talk) 21:25, 10 December 2013 (UTC)

About the first paragraph of the Risk subheading; can you kind of re-tell the Mustaine quote in your own words? It goes way too long and a small cut would be nice. The good news - this is the last section of the page that needs re-building. After we're done, you can nominate it for B-class. See you.--Вик Ретлхед (talk) 20:44, 11 December 2013 (UTC)
(talk page stalker)@ Вик Ретлхед can you kind of re-tell the Mustaine quote in your own words? We don't "re-word" quotes, kinda messes up the whole idea of quoting. Mlpearc (open channel) 20:55, 11 December 2013 (UTC)
I asked for that in order to avoid WP:QUOTEFARM. I said to cut the quote and write the remaining text in prose-style.--Вик Ретлхед (talk) 21:00, 11 December 2013 (UTC)
Sorry, not the way it seemed. Mlpearc (open channel) 21:06, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

Greetings. Noted that you've started doing some improvements on Peace Sells, so here's what I've been working on the topic. Hope it will be of some help.--Вик Ретлхед (talk) 16:16, 12 December 2013 (UTC)

...And Justice for All[edit]

Hello and happy holidays. I know I'm slowly becoming boring with my requests, but when you have time, can you try to merge the quote by Newsted (in the box) to the last paragraph of the section? The article already has too many quotes and some cutting would be very helpful. As always, thanks for your help and everything the best in the new year.--Вик Ретлхед (talk) 20:32, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

Cryptic Writings[edit]

Hi pal. Just to tell you that I merged three songs from Cryptic Writings to the album's page. I've been searching for some additional information for those tracks, but found very little about them, so I decided to merge them with the album. As for "Trust", because it was Grammy-nominated tune and one of the band's more notable songs, I think it's best to keep it and see if I can push it to GA status. But the other three singles simply couldn't have been anything more than start-class articles. Cheers buddy.--Вик Ретлхед (talk) 15:18, 13 January 2014 (UTC)

FA on Megadeth awards[edit]

Hey buddy, I know you're busy, but if you can take a look at Cambalachero's notes regarding the Grammy nominations. I think you can re-shape the sentence better than me. Thanks for the help.--Вик Ретлхед (talk) 19:46, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

I meant to recast the sentence featuring "have yet to win", and it looks fine now. I'll go get the source supporting that. I asked you because I couldn't remember I wrote it, but anyway, thanks for taking care of that.--Вик Ретлхед (talk) 07:38, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

Tiny little help[edit]

Hi buddy. This sentence from the first section ("Early days"—second paragraph) "After hiring bassist David Ellefson immediately, they both examined about 15 drummers..." needs slight rewording. Mustaine and Ellefson co-founded the band, so Mustaine couldn't have hired Ellefson as a bassist. This is kinda tricky to recast, any suggestions how to fix it?--Вик Ретлхед (talk) 20:37, 25 April 2014 (UTC)

Pal, another thing. Can you check the "recorded" parameter from the infobox in Peace Sells... but Who's Buying? Seems kinda illogical because in Ellefson's My Life with Deth is written that the album was done in the Music Grinder studio. Cheers.--Вик Ретлхед (talk) 22:59, 27 April 2014 (UTC)

L1, do you have time to paraphrase a couple of statements in Megadeth? In "Countdown to Extinction", the quote "Our new mission was to create music..." (first paragraph) needs to be re-written. From "Cryptic Writings", the quote "One part of the record was really fast and aggressive, one third of it was the really melodic..." (third paragraph) also needs wording. I feel we're really close to getting the article to FA. If you any help from me over some article, please ask. See you and everything the best.--Вик Ретлхед (talk) 16:00, 2 May 2014 (UTC)

Comment required[edit]

Hello. Can you offer your two cents on a genre debate about Youthanasia? The discussion is here.--Retrohead (talk) 20:08, 18 June 2014 (UTC)

Thank you[edit]

Thank you for the comment, I am not bothered now, everyone has disagreed with me so there is a clear consensus to remove thrash metal which is fair enough, I was just annoyed how Retrohead puts his own opinions above anyone else's, he breaks rules but then picks me up on mine, I mean well and am only trying to help but instead of assuming good faith Retrohead choices not to, and to page own and call me a genre troll, (which apparently spends 95% of the time editing genres) which looking at my edit history is obviously not me. Making one of the articles into a featured page would be great. Thanks again. Lukejordan02 (talk) 20:55, 18 June 2014 (UTC)

Question[edit]

Hey, would you mind if I cross the notes I'm done with (like this)?--Retrohead (talk) 12:38, 15 July 2014 (UTC)

Hello L1A1. Aside from the FAC, would you consider redirecting "Breadline", along with "The Scorpion"? It is hardly notable song in the band's catalog, and it was released as a single only in Japan. I'm sure it won't be anything more than a stub with its current notability.--Retrohead (talk) 13:26, 16 July 2014 (UTC)
