- Hey, I'm really sorry about deleting the template without substing it in your userspace first. I'm trying to subst it in your userspace and it doesn't seem to be working. If there's something about cite templates that prevents them from being substed, would you want to just move the template to your userspace? Peace, delldot ∇. 06:03, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
[edit] Template assistance request: Template:Neighboring hoods
Howdy. The template above (of which I know little) is used on a few hundred pages to give little directional maps. It also seems to be the source of some weird red links I've been chasing down - see here for some examples. Template markup's not far short of bracket-riddled gibberish to me - any chance you could cast an eye over it and suppress the dodgy links please? - TB (talk) 17:10, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- Hello Topbanana...I will eyeball it a bit and see what is going on with it, however, it appears this template is for a specific location in the U.S. (the D.C. area). Is this template going to be put into wider circulation once it is fixed and working? LA (T) @ 08:00, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
-
- No idea as to the template's provenance or goals, only that it's the source of a few hundred weird-looking red links. From the history it looks like a pet project of User:Blahblah29; if it's useful it'll propagate I'm sure and find a wider use. All the better if it's tidied up before this happens. Cheers. - TB (talk) 14:17, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
- Wow, did you really bring me a hard one. I will do what I can to help, but I am a bit rusty so it may take me a day or so. LA (T) @ 20:24, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

[edit] You are now a Reviewer
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. MBisanz talk 02:17, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

[edit] A voice from the past
Hello, my lady! I don't know if you remember me - I was the unwitting enthusiast who worked on the Films based on books project over 2 years ago. I've been inactive for a while but would like to offer my assistance with that project or any other that you think needs help. I hope we can still be friends. Cheers, Pegship (talk) 20:46, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
- Peg...I have nearly quit all together. I have gotten involved with my own personal projects. I haven't even looked at Films based on books in as many years. Out work could be totally devastated by now. I have gotten tired of the politics that one has to go through here to get anything done these days. It has stopped being a fun endeavor. I check back here every once in a while to see if I have any messages, but most of them these days are about my work getting deleted which is really upsetting. I hope you are well. LA (T) @ 22:00, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
- I'm doing OK. I moved on to other pursuits and I know I won't be involved as intensely as before on WP. Good move on your part, finding other projects; I wish you well with 'em. Cheers, Pegship (talk) 22:32, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
- Pegs...feel free to e-mail me anytime. I have my e-mail attached to my WP account. Let's try to keep in touch off wiki maybe? LA (T) @ 11:26, 16 April 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Interested in a trip to improve MediaWiki documentation?
Did you know about the Doc Camp this October?
"Individuals with a passion for free documentation about free software may apply to attend by filling out the application form and submitting before 5 August, 2011.... Accommodation and food will be covered by the GSoC Doc Camp. Part or complete travel costs can also be applied for as part of the application process."
I'm going to send a proposal to get MediaWiki into the Doc Camp and to have us do a Quick Sprint to improve MediaWiki's documentation. Please let me know if you know people I should include in my proposal.

[edit] Suggestion for WikiProject United States to support WikiProject Maryland
It was recently suggested that WikiProject Maryland might be inactive or semiactive and it might be beneficial to include it in the list of projects supported by WikiProject United States. I have started a discussion on the projects talk page soliciting the opinions of the members of the project if this project would be interested in being supported by WikiProject United States. Please feel free to comment on your opinions about this suggestion. --Kumioko (talk) 03:31, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
[edit] User reading categories...
Hi, I noticed that you are also a Template activist! I created those reading-xxx categories because a lot of users subscribed (red categories) without creating...
By the way, why should the reading-xxx categories have been deleted?
Let me know your opinion about the template restyling I did at Wikipedia:Userboxes/Media/Books. ZipoBibrok5x10^8 (talk) 19:32, 10 September 2011 (UTC)
- I was a use template activist, until I lost the battle. I tend to put myself in categories that aren't created to just do it. You should look at my other subpages. :)

[edit] Greetings!
Hey there, I just noticed the message you left on my talk page back in 2007, and I uh... pride myself on timely responses... I am well, currently in college! Hope this finds you well! CableModem^^ (talk) 08:19, 28 November 2011 (UTC)
- Uh, Wow! It has been a while since we've talked and I've gotten a message here that wasn't generated by a bot. I haven't been editing here for quite some time either. I've given up on all of my various pursuits here and have gone elsewhere to find my calling. I hope you are well. If you are on Twitter, send me a tweet. I'm Lady_Aleena there as here. Have a nice day! LA (T) @ 08:57, 28 November 2011 (UTC)
[edit] National Archives ExtravaSCANza
| You are invited to the National Archives ExtravaSCANza, taking place every day next week from January 4–7, Wednesday to Saturday, in College Park, Maryland (Washington, DC metro area). Come help me cap off my stint as Wikipedian in Residence at the National Archives with one last success!
This will be a casual working event in which Wikipedians are getting together to scan interesting documents at the National Archives related to a different theme each day—currently: spaceflight, women's suffrage, Chile, and battleships—for use on Wikipedia/Wikimedia Commons. The event is being held on multiple days, and in the evenings and weekend, so that as many locals and out-of-towners from nearby regions1 as possible can come. Please join us! Dominic·t 01:05, 30 December 2011 (UTC) 1 Wikipedians from DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Newark, New York City, and Pittsburgh have been invited. |
[edit] Invitation to events: bot, template, and Gadget makers wanted
I thought you might want to know about some upcoming events where you can learn more about MediaWiki customization and development, extending functionality with JavaScript, the future of ResourceLoader and Gadgets, the new Lua templating system, how to best use the web API for bots, and various upcoming features and changes. We'd love to have power users, bot maintainers and writers, and template makers at these events so we can all learn from each other and chat about what needs doing.
Check out the Chennai event in March, the Berlin hackathon in June, the developers' days preceding Wikimania in July in Washington, DC, or any other of our events.
Best wishes! - Sumana Harihareswara, Wikimedia Foundation's Volunteer Development Coordinator. Please reply on my talk page, here or at mediawiki.org. Sumanah (talk) 15:15, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
