Just Dance causing Gaga's BNA snub

Hi there,

I'm sorry to bother you, but I noticed that you reverted my edits regarding Gaga's disqualification for Best New Artist on the page for Just Dance. Twice. I certainly respect your opinion, but I'd like to explain my point of view, if you don't mind. Gaga's ineligibility for the award has been a source of much discussion and contention for several weeks now, with stories on it everywhere from respected newspapers to the lowliest of forums, and I thought that because JD was the contributing factor in that, a small mention should be made. Even though I am an -enormous- Gaga fan, I tried my best not to word the sentence I added in a biased way... this is Wikipedia, after all. It didn't seem to fit anywhere else in the article, and there was already a convenient segue point in the first paragraph; and needless to say, it would've bee utterly ridiculous to add a section to the JD article covering the Grammy controversy.

Anyway, there's really no point in trying to add it back again, especially if I continue to face opposition (if not from you then others), but I just wanted to set the record straight. Thanks! 76.107.137.39 (talk) 07:01, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

Actually the information is still present, its just hidden as I wanted to have a consensus with the main contributers. The GRammies were really not exactly controversy regarding this. Hence the mention, though I feel can be a little WP:UNDUE, I just wanted to have a consensus with the folks. Cheers and happy editing. --Legolas (talk2me) 07:08, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

Delay

Not sure if you have noticed, but at WP:GAN I have listed both LoveGame and The Fame Ball Tour under review. Sorry it is taking me a while to do the reviews, but recently I've been really busy on alot of personnel stuff (got into a car wreck). I promise to get to both reviews by the end of the week.--WillC 09:32, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

I have indeed noticed it. I was also wondering when you are going to review it. No worries, you take as much time as you want.(Car wreck! oh man!) Hoping to see your reviews :) --Legolas (talk2me) 09:38, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
Okay, just thought to bring it up. Yeah, was going to my girlfriend's house and spun a 2008 Ford F-150 into a ditch. I'm cool, but the truck isn't that much. Been dealing with the problems which resulted from that for the passed few days. Just forgot about reviewing the above articles in everything. I'll probably get one done some time tomorrow. Most likely LoveGame since it is shorter I do believe.--WillC 09:44, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
Lol at the whole truck/Ford scenario. Quite a mess eh! As for article length I think The Fame Ball tour is the shorter one, but feel free to review whichever one you prefer. --Legolas (talk2me) 09:49, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I still don't know how I spun that big of a truck, and even more how I came out without a scratch. Okay, good to know. My name is Will by the way.--WillC 10:02, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
Okay, nice to meet you. I've seen you around, surprising this is the first we've talked.--WillC 10:14, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

Well thank you, I try to have indepth reviews. Congrats!--WillC 23:09, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

Madonna singles discography

I re-did some of the text in introductory part so that it has some typos fixed, some punctuations added, and (hopefully) it now has a better flowing text.

In the future I suggest not using phrases such as "in countries like Australia". What does that mean? New Zealand? Isn't that "like Australia"? If you mean Australia itself that say so and do not use "like".

Overall the page looks pretty good to me. I'll check out all the reference in the next day or two and by the end of the week I should be offering my support. Jimknut (talk) 17:01, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of The Confessions Tour (album)

The article The Confessions Tour (album) you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within seven days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:The Confessions Tour (album) for things needed to be addressed. Hilary Duff

Hi. Thanks for your note. I believe we've run across one another on at least Rossrs' talk page from time to time. He and I work closely on some things. I believe you're right, his goal is to delist the article and he will find a way to accomplish this. That's why I contacted Nehrams2020 about it and have continued to ask Chasewc91 to stand down. Gprince007 had already updated some of the links pointed out as deadlinks, etc., prior to them being posted. Chase came in and simply totally removed a huge personal life section from the article, which was protested, and then opened the GAR. I've worked on GA articles in the past, in fact, I have Kate Winslet sitting on the GAN list right now, so I know what goes into achieving that status and why I've protested his delist efforts on the Duff article. What's annoyed me the most have been his setting of a deadline and the way he repeatedly has stated it will be delisted. He's biased and you're right, that's his intention. I notice Gprince007 has challenged him on his proclamations of "I have assessed these sites on my own accord" comments. I didn't work on the original GA, my efforts have mostly been toward fending off vandals and sock puppets. In that regard, do you have suspicions? Wildhartlivie (talk) 14:13, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

No problems. Even I just happened to be browsing the article and saw the citation tags. Hence checked the talk page and found out about Chasewc's drama. You can check User talk:Pokerdance regarding the sock thing, however my concerns are regarding his inability to provide a review and point out the areas where the article is failing, but nonetheless open a GAR. Regarding his comments, they are merely a tool for his biasness to evoke and make it fruitful. He can be right that Digital Spy and some other websites addressed in the article are not exactly WP:RS (Digital Spy has time to time been accused of plagiarism) however he doesnot know what is the reason and nor does have any clue as to why veteran editors avoid them. Keeping his biasness aside, do you want me to do a thorough review of the article? In that case Chasewc can step down. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:42, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
Yes! Please do a review of the page. I don't think your goal is to delist it and you haven't blatantly said so four times. Thanks! Wildhartlivie (talk) 16:41, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
I've asked him repeatedly to step down or recuse himself and he's to date, consistently refused. What next? Wildhartlivie (talk) 03:37, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
A community request, if still inpersistent then administrative actions. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:48, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
As in file a community GAR? Wildhartlivie (talk) 19:04, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
He closed his GAR due to others objecting to his conducting it. I have filed a community GAR request. Wildhartlivie (talk) 17:49, 17 December 2009 (UTC)

(Outdent) Feel free! Wildhartlivie (talk) 05:33, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

I just saw the above discussion and i am glad that I wasnt the only one who was fighting for this article....I had nominated the article for GA status 2 yrs ago and had worked really hard to get it to GA status (see this). ...So it felt really bad that some editor would just swoop in and set a deadline to delist it....I have already addressed some genuine concerns raised by Chasewc....However, my busy schedule doesnt permit me to devote more time so it would be good to get a community feedback....Being a major contributor to the article, I wanted it to be a Featured Article but it failed twice....I would be glad to get some feedbacks and comments on improving as well as trimming the article before pushing for FA ....I hope other editors too wud chip in...Thanks... Hey I reworked Gaga page lead- clarified her signings and how she got upstreamed into Interscope (and her multitude of labels) especially in the career beginnings section. I currently have a discussion on Gaga talk. I've started getting some reverts of the lead already so your input would be appreciated. Imperatore (talk) 05:46, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

Vandalism on deeper than rap article

Hello. I'm terribly sorry to have to bother you, but i'm still learning the ropes with Wikipedia. I wasn't too sure how to make a formal complaint. Anyways, i'm having issues with a user constantly vandalizing the article Deeper Than Rap. the user, Dan56 has been making unnecessary edits along with responding to warnings with belligerence.[1]

apparently he's been warned for similar vandalism on other articles. Can you help? Thanks in advance! Thetruth86(talk) 05:22, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

RE:

This sucka's lying; beside, he keep on removing sourced information in the reception sec. of the article, which is the only thing I am reverting. Warn THIS sucka. Dan56 (talk) 23:17, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

RE:

Dan56 has been warned numerous times to stop vandalizing the page. In addition, he doesn't use the talk section to explain his revisions, along with responding to users with sarcasm and belligerence (as evident by the history section). He was recently blocked by admin from editing another article for those same reasons.

He often edits out sourced info with unsubstantiated info. For example: he edits in "The album has sold over 403,000 copies to date". without providing a linked source in place of "To date, Deeper Than Rap has sold more than 382,000 copies[1][2]" which includes two linked sources.

I'll be editing that particular example back in later on today. Hopefully Dan56 can be respectful and stop vandalizing the page. I in no way, shape or form want to get into an editing war with him. I'm all for helping to keep Wikipedia and it's articles accurate, but i'd like to do it by the rules and in a respectful manner. Thetruth86(talk) 07:37, 19 December 2009 (UTC)

Certs should be small. It looks messy when they are too big, especially since there can up to 3 lines for each song and 4 per album.--Love.Game (talk) 04:39, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
Certifications are never small. Please see MOS:DISCOG. It doesnot look messy and fits in the page space. But when you add small tags, it breaks teh table into different structures. Please donot go on making unnecessary edits like this and try to understand what others are doing. --Legolas (talk2me) 04:41, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

Little help with the Janet Project

Since you seem to be a busy bee, I was wondering if you wouldn't mind writing the musical structure/composition sections of Janet Jackson's Billboard Hot 100 number ones? These would be When I Think of You, Miss You Much, Escapade, Black Cat, Love Will Never Do (Without You), That's the Way Love Goes, Again, Together Again, Doesn't Really Matter and All for You. I realize its a big request, but I like the way you've handled the Madonna project singles.

In general, btw, I think you're an excellent editor. If we had more editors like you wikipedia would be in much better shape than it is now. The Bookkeeper (of the Occult) 12:12, 24 December 2009 (UTC)

Lady Gaga articles re ANI

You should be ok to revert regardless of the 3rr. On the 3rr noticeboard, it says (relevant part in italics bold) "The three-revert rule does not apply to self-reverts, reverts within a user's own user space, or reverts of obvious vandalism, banned users, copyright violations or libelous, biased, unsourced, or poorly sourced controversial material which violates the policy on biographies of living persons." And even if it is not considered obvious vandalism, it can always fit under WP:IAR. Best of luck, Ks0stm If you reply here, please leave me a {{Talkback}} message on my talk page. 11:18, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

I think you and me very well know what's a discostick! ;) :P Well we can start by adding critical reception for the songs, I mean for the topic there are 5 songs, 1 album, 1 video single and 1 tour. So eight friggin things to develop!!! Well Ray of Light the album is already GA so 1 down now. And oh yeah HAPPY NEW YEAR. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:21, 1 January 2010 (UTC)
I was just wondering about the "disco stick". ;) I've asked a whole bunch of people, who like Gaga, about the "disco stick". Japanese and Irish reference

Hey, I am doing a discography and need a reference for position in the Japanese Albums Chart and the Irish Albums Chart. I know there is aCharts but is there any other source that is licensed and works well for discographies (having different albums positions)? I'm asking beacuse you probably have seen around. -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 02:16, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the new year wish, I'll weigh in on Breakout a little later. As for discographies, there is no concrete licensed discography for Japan, however for Ireland you can use the Hung Medien website. Search for the artist and click on the discography tab. It will take you to a list of all the singles and albums released by that artist and the highest cahrting positions. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:44, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
No problem... I checked on irish-charts and nothing is there but I know it charted since I went to the official pages and got something for singles. So what should I do about Japan?? Should I just change the country. -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 03:57, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Nevermind about Ireland -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 03:58, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Just wait a few days, Hung Medien takes time to update. As for Japan its better to remove it, that's what I do for FLC's. --Legolas (talk2me) 04:01, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
O.K. thanks... actually Hung Medien works. -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 04:15, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

User:Tsadaqbmein, sockpuppet of banned User:Brexx

Hello, I saw you recently came across User:Tsadaqbmein, who, as it turns out, was a sockpuppet of banned User:Brexx. This is mostly a heads up, to notify you that you can freely revert any edits he has done. I have reverted a lot of Tsadaqbmein's edits, but edits to articles and areas I am not familiar with and where there were a lot of subsequent edits I could not revert. If User:Tsadaqbmein edited some article(s) you are familiar with, you might want to go back and double check his edits, and undo anything questionable. You may also want to visit Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Brexx/Archive to familiarize yourself with his editing habits. His identifying hallmark is an overuse of '...' and underuse of capitalization, see examples:[2][3] With this latest sock, he appears to have branched out into new territory, and the more people able to identify and, if possible, report him, the better, to avoid wasting time edit warring and cleaning up after him. Poker Face, number of weeks

The webpage www.chartstats.com/songinfo.php?id=34188 will give you a list of all Poker Face's chart positions and confirm that it has indeed had 50 weeks on the UK chart. The chartstats website is a good place to get sources for chart performance info. I've studied charts for over 40 years now and even in middle age I still find them fascinating.

Something to remember though - the site lists all chart positions in the Top 100, but only those in the Top 75 form the basis of official chart statistics. So although Poker Face (great song!) has 51 positions listed as of this week, just 50 have been in the Top 75. As for it being the "joint 16th longest runner of all time", well you'll have to take my word for that!

Cheers now Tonythepixel (talk) 14:54, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for your detailed summary, even I know that it has indeed been on the UK chart for 50 weeks. However, we should understand that is it being on the chart for 50 weeks really that encyclopedic? I believe not since many songs can be for such long duration on the charts. If that longetivity gets a third party and media notability, like in case of Jason Mraz's song "I'm Yours", then we can add it, otherwise it becomes a case of WP:UNDUE. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:40, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi Legolas2186

Thanks for your comments. It would be worth watching the future progress of Poker Face to see what gets said about its chart longevity. A good place to look (and another good source for info) is the Official Chart Commentary page compiled by James Masterton. Its address is http://new.uk.music.yahoo.com/blogs/chartwatch/ and click on the week whose commentary you wish to view. This is one page where Poker Face is likely to get a mention if it continues to add to its chart run.

Statistical information like this is not just the preserve of a tiny minority. Although the UK chart is a lot less publicly visible nowadays, it is still followed avidly by a lot of people, and so an exceptionally long chart run would I think be considered encyclopaedic. I agree that songs are now achieving generally longer chart runs, thanks mainly to the staying power of many downloads, but Poker Face is still only the 19th song to reach 50 weeks in 57 years of chart history. Only another seven weeks on the chart would make it one of the ten all-time most charted singles in the UK (it would actually be joint 8th with three others). The Jason Mraz song achieved notability partly in that it clocked up its 50 weeks without ever making the Top 10, the only single that has so far done that.

Your Lady Gaga lyric copyright violation and WP:SPAM

There are two issues here.

First, you reinserted a link whose intent was to reference lyric copyright violation material. See my discussion about this here [4]. The company MTV was working with appears to infringe artistic copyright "Much of the information in the Gracenote Music Recognition Service (originally known as CDDB) was initially submitted by users ".[5] I.e., they appear not to have checked copyright status before they used material.

(As it stands you re-added a link that has no lyrics and therefore no value.)

Please remove the link. I've dealt with similar copyright issues before in Wiki.

The second issue is whether the external link to Lady Gaga's homepage belongs on a page for one of her songsOfficial website of Lady Gaga. Your comment was "cover artist's also have their webstes added as there the song info is available".[6] In fact the page doesn't mention the song at all. It's to a blatently commercial web page with several purchasing advertisements and a list of scheduled concerts. Regards, Piano non troppo (talk) 11:29, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

I still stand my point. The official website of the artist will contain information about the song, tours she performed the song, when it is released etc. There's nothing wrong in adding that and neither it is copyright violation and nor it is WP:SPAM. Please, in the politest way possible, donot lecture me on that. If you would like to, create the discussion on the talk page or the Lady Gaga project page, instead of writing here. I stand by my point as I donot see any harm in addition of such things, when they are not copyright violations. --Legolas (talk2me) 11:35, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
Please be clear. There are two issues. One link you added (although now having no lyrics at all) was apparently to a lyric copyright violation web site. I will get a second opinion from one of the Wiki authorities on this. If it is the case that site violated copyright then there is no discussion, the MTV page was violating copyright. Update: MTV and Gracenote appear to be following the law. Piano non troppo (talk) 13:12, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
I don't see, however, why you insist on adding an external link reading "lyrics" to a page that has no lyrics (and neither does the admin I asked)
Another link you added has a different issue: It is WP:SPAM that does not mention the song. That matter I will take to WP:ELNO discussion. Piano non troppo (talk) 11:52, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
The inclusion of ladygaga.com is being discussed at Wikipedia:ELN#Adding_a_group.27s_official_page_to_a_song_page. --Ronz (talk) 20:07, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Madonna 'Oh Father' Australian chart position

I don't appreciate you reverting my supposed "deliberate addition of factual error" on the Madonna singles discography page - 'Oh Father' did peak at #59, not #51, on Australia's ARIA Chart, which was (and still is) considered Australia's 'official' music chart, and has been the only chart in production here since 1999. The #51 position you've reverted to is taken from the Australian Music Report, which ARIA licensed from May 1983 until June 1988. After this time, ARIA produced its own chart in-house. This affects Madonna's chart positions from 'Like A Prayer' onwards. All of the other chart positions listed after this time on the page are ARIA Chart peaks. An online database of the ARIA Chart Top 50 singles (and albums charts) from June 1988 can be found at http://australian-charts.com/search.asp . ARIA released the top 50 chart to the public, but a full top 100 chart was available by subscription. At the present time, positions for 51-100 are not archived online, but a book published in 2009 by Gavin Ryan, 'ARIA Singles Chart Book 1988-2008' contains top 100 information from January 1990 onwards. On page 91 of this publication, 'Oh Father' is listed as peaking at #59. It entered the top 100 on 25 Dec 1989, spending 5 weeks in the chart.

A pdf order form is linked on ARIA's website www.ariacharts.com.au/pages/documents/ChartBookOrderForm.pdf . Details of the book can also be found here http://www.ozmusicbooks.com/_catalog_24657/Chart_Books .

David Kent, who produced the superseded Australian Music Report also published a book in 1992, 'Australian Chart Book 1970-1992' containing the Australian Music Report chart positions licensed by the ARIA Chart until June 1988, and the Australian Music Report positions from June 1988 to Dec 1992. However, the Australian Music Report was no longer considered Australia's 'official' chart during this latter period. 'Oh Father' did peak at #51 on this chart - but it makes no sense to list this position on the discography page, because, for example, 'Dear Jessie' (the following single in Australia) peaked at #41 on this chart, whilst the #51 ARIA Chart peak is listed on the discography page. All other chart peaks listed on the discography page are from the official ARIA Chart.

Finally, I am not a vandal/troll and have followed the charts in Australia for over 20 years. Check my contributions list and you'll see that most of the entries I edit on wikipedia relate to Australian chart information.

I also added more accurate references to the Australian chart positions on the discography page. I'm reverting my edit back. Nqr9 (talk) 23:18, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

Your addition seemed a deliberate factual error because the table was screwed up and broken. When such a thing happens it always appear as vandalism and insertion of error code. Now that you have explained, I see no reason to revert myself to your position. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:47, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Sock getting outta hand

Do you see the similarities between this and this now? Even trolling his own sock's uploads. The user was recently indefinitely blocked at commons for uploading a bunch of copyright violating images. Also the BLP violating images at The Virgin Tour, Who's That Girl World Tour, Blond Ambition Tour and The Girlie Show World Tour are becoming intolerable now. What do you recommend? --Legolas (talk2me) 11:15, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Can you outline specific images that violate NFCC (I presume you meant that and not BLP) or are copyvios? Stifle (talk) 11:37, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Actually all of the articles I stated, each have a non-free images of living person (Madonna) hence they are copyright vios as no rationale as to why they can be used instead of a free iamge is given. --Legolas (talk2me) 11:43, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
I've tagged or deleted the images and left a final warning for the user. I appreciate that this is taking up a lot of your time, but I would prefer to allow even the unlikeliest chance that this is genuinely a new, misunderstanding user. Stifle (talk) 11:46, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
I'm afraid Stifle, thesocking and the editing patterns are more than 110% similar for this to eb a new user. I was more than confirmed when his commons account of the same name was indefinitely blocked as a sockpuppet of Elpilotodi. If you see his talk page, I tried assuming good faith and helping him with Drowned World Tour, but alas the block in commons came at that time. I lost my good faith against the user.
Keeping aside the sockpuppetry, I have a question to ask. Since the free images in Re-Invention World Tour and Drowned World Tour articles were deleted, I contacted one of the Madonna fan-sites called Mad-eyes.net as they had images of the performances, and asked them whether I can have permission to use those images by providing attribution to them. They have agreed to let me use seven of those images. Now my question is how do I go to uploading them in commons with proper permission and attribution? --Legolas (talk2me) 05:38, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
I've blocked Resbusha indefinitely; Category:Wikipedia sockpuppets of ElPilotoDi and Category:Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets of ElPilotoDi are also created.
For the other images, first you need to ascertain that mad-eyes.net actually holds the copyright to them and didn't just randomly find them somewhere. Then, you upload the images tagged as {{OTRS pending}}, and then send permissions-commons@wikimedia.org an email in the form at WP:CONSENT specifying the images and the free license they are released under. Once the email is processed, someone will tag the images {{permissionOTRS}} to confirm they are valid. Stifle (talk) 09:28, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
I checked the images and found that the fans who uploaded the images, did so under the public domain to mad-eyes.net. Will that be enough for the website to allow me to use the pictures? --Legolas (talk2me) 09:36, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
If the website says that the images are in the public domain, then that will do. However, the ones I randomly checked all say they're copyrighted. Stifle (talk) 09:40, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
Check out the images here. They are uploaded free to the website, however the website's permission is needed if we want to use them. That's what I did, I sent them an email on Saturday that I wanted to use those images on wikipedia, stating the article name, my userpage links etc. They replied on Monday asking me which are the images that I wanted to use, after I replied back they said that its fine and that the images are small resolution ones so no problem. Do you have a mail id where i can forward the conversation Stifle? --Legolas (talk2me) 09:46, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
You can forward it to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org, but remember that permission to use on Wikipedia alone isn't enough. It must be a free licence. The response to the email you send in may contain further instructions or details that are required. Stifle (talk) 09:47, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

(Outdent)OK Thanks a lot Stifle. I'll upload the image and send a mail to commons in the CONSENT format, with the conversation I had with mad-eyes underneath it, and then maybe notify you so that you can process it faster. :) --Legolas (talk2me) 09:55, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Rescale image template

Hi Legolas2186, I notice you've removed some instances of the image reduction tag, that I've placed on some unfree images where there a several images stored under that file name, with the comment that the image has been resized so the tag is not needed. (Example). This tag is to flag the file so that it shows up under Category:Rescaled fairuse images so that previous versions which are not being used, can be deleted. We shouldn't be keeping these unfree images if they're not being used. I think you may be confusing it with the {{Non-free reduce}} template which is to flag images that need to be resized. When they have been resized the template should be removed, but then {{subst:furd}} (which displays as {{Non free reduced-date}}) should be added to ensure the deletion of the original file or files, while retaining the one in use. It too bad they look almost the same when editing, with the images that have already been resized showed the past tense "reduced". Rossrs (talk) 13:29, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Hey Rossrs, you are right, I confused the non-free reduced tag with this one. Thanks a lot for explaining it to me. No offence intended. :) --Legolas (talk2me) 03:14, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
Hey there Legolas. No problem. It's all good :-) Rossrs (talk) 07:42, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Taylor Swift discography

Hey! CAn you comment on Talk:Taylor Swift discography#Issues with new version. Please weigh in soon because there is an edit war about the things that were removed and there's only a selected amount of time to discuss it. -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 21:07, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

I see you commented. Thank you but can you explain to them that some country charts should not be included, that re-entries should not be included, and that certifications should not have their own table. They want to add every Billboard chart outthere, Pop Songs, Pop 100, Country, AC, and that is way too much. Please do so because they are driving me insane and I cannot make it a candidate for FL with them reverting everything. You suggested that it would important to add the sales of Swift's albums. Where can I find a source for that? The one you have on Madonna albums discography is an article that is specially directed at her and Whitney Houston. Have you seen an article like that about Taylor Swift? -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 23:46, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

OTRS permission

Hey Stifle, as per our previous conversation, I have uploaded the images at commons in Drowned World Tour category and have sent the required permission mails to permission-commons in the required format at WP:CONSENT, while cc-ing the copyright holder. Could you please take a look at the mail? It starts with subject line as Re:Mad-Eyes contact. I believe OTRS takes time to update the images but Im kinda in a hurry hence asking you as you have an OTRS account. --Legolas (talk2me) 08:28, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

Emails into OTRS are processed in the order they're received; it's unfair to expect to cut the line. What's the hurry? Stifle (talk) 09:21, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
GA review, sighhhhhhhhh!!! --Legolas (talk2me) 09:33, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
I can give you the ticket number (it's Ticket:2010010810008251); there's currently a three-week backlog in the permissions queue. Stifle (talk) 09:38, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
Ok what shall I do with the number? --Legolas (talk2me) 10:09, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
You can use it if someone wants to delete the images. Otherwise, an OTRS agent will reply to the email when it reaches the top of the queue and place a validation tag on the images. Stifle (talk) 10:29, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
Thanks a ton Stifle. I have one small help to ask. I nominated the article "Paparazzi (Lady Gaga song)" for GA. Now, an editor, who was previously associated in editing the article has come forward to review it and is placing his biased review that the article is basically a pile load of shit. I myself and others are asking him to step down from reviewing it as he is letting his biasness get the better of you. Frankly, since I developed so many GA quality music articles, I have a better understanding of what is needed in a music article. Could you take a look. The user is asking absurd things like contacting the artist's representatives to gain their consensus before publishing the article. --Legolas (talk2me) 10:36, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
It appears that Jezhotwells, Chasewc91, and Bookkeeper of the Occult have the matter well in hand. Stifle (talk) 10:55, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

(Outdent)Do you think that is making any difference? Just see the user's replies at Jezhotwells and his own talk page and you'll knnow that he is basiclaly abusing the other editors of adding unprofessional writing and prmoting fancruft in Wikipedia, which I am disgusted with as a fellow GA reviewer myself, and as an editor who edits a lot of music related articles. I think an administrative intervention is necessary against such abusive behaviour. --Legolas (talk2me) 11:06, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

He's not being uncivil, just disagreeable. Have you tried WP:WQA? Stifle (talk) 11:25, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

Re:Paparazzi GAN

I completely agree with you. In fact, the request that the artist's record label be consulted for what should be done on the article is ridiculous as that would only lead to more bias not to mention a conflict of interest. I would definitely consider taking this issue up with an admin or as Stifle suggested above, WQA. Users aren't allowed to assess articles they've contributed to for a reason and I'm glad I realized my mistake awhile back. Chase wc91 20:45, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

Paparazzi (Lady Gaga song)

Hi, I've just been going through the GAN lists pruning any quick fails away to reduce the queues, and I noticed that currently Paparazzi (Lady Gaga song) has two citation needed templates on it. Now I'm not going quick fail the article now as being a template Nazi isn't my objective. :) However you'll want to sort both those out before it get further up the queue and reviewed as when someone goes to properly review it, it could potentially get quick failed with them on it. Regards, Miyagawa (talk) 13:37, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

Hey Miyagawa, thanks for notifying me. Those citation tags were unnecessarily introduced and were faulty. I have removed them. As for the Paparazzi article being reviewed, you should see the discussion going on at Talk:Paparazzi (Lady Gaga song)/GA1! Weird! --Legolas (talk2me) 03:47, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

Re:Came by

To say hi. Its been long that we corressponded. Aren't you excited that Kesha's gonna top BB 200 tomorrow? --Legolas (talk2me) 13:20, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

Oh yes, I am very happy. She has been dominating the iTunes charts, so hopefully it will be enough to knock off Susan Boyle.. Have you listened to any of the tracks? I bought the entire thing from iTunes last week, and it is pretty excellent! • вяαdcяochat 20:50, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
Yeah I listened to some of them. Sounds good. Though I wanted Blah, Blah, Blah for next single as Im not sure how YLIMD will fare as next single. But she's kicking Gaga's ass man! --Legolas (talk2me) 03:36, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
Has the second single been confirmed yet? I was watching TV one day and they said 'Blah Blah Blah' was going to be, then I listened to radio and they said it was 'Kiss N Tell'. I think the label may be intentionally delaying it so they can make more money. If they keep speculating different second singles, people will download both from digital outlets until they make their final decision. 'YLIMD' is actually the second most popular song from the album though. I guess 2010 is really going to be the year of Ke$ha, just like Gaga owned the second half of 2008 and the whole of 2009. • вяαdcяochat 04:05, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
I don't know man, at present she's walking on a thin line. If she doesnot improve in termas of creativity, she will be done cause though the music sounds smash, the image is not what everyone is gonna accept coz the trash image has previously been channeled by other singers like Avril, Amy winehouse etc. So with the next single's she really needs to step up the game. I hope she does and is not a one-trick pony. --Legolas (talk2me) 04:12, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, people will not accept her because she is not politically correct. That is what I like about her though. She really does not seem to have a serious approach to it all. Instead, she just wants to make 'fun' music. Her image is just genuinely her though. At least the general public can see that she is not hiding behind anything, unlike a lot of other artists who fake it. Everyone says that she is the next Gaga, but I completely disagree. She is nothing like Lady Gaga. Both artists have two completely different ambitions, Gaga wanting to create influential pop-art whilst Ke$ha intends to make people dance and have a good time. • вяαdcяochat 04:25, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

(Outdent)I hope that she stays. And yeah, the comparisons to Gaga are quite immature. Although one thing is common, both are mad and a little cuckoo. Did you read that story that Kesha pee'd in front of a bunch of reporters? That just made me a fan of hers! --Legolas (talk2me) 04:32, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

I sure did read that story. How hilarious of her to do such a thing! Very few artists would dare to do something like that. Haha. • вяαdcяochat 06:05, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
It sure is! Did you read that she vommited in Paris Hilton's closet? OMG I was like, why couldn't she vomit on that disgusting girl's face! She has a DGAF attitude. By the way, since you are associated with the Kesha article, did you find any proper picture for the infobox? The one present is absolutely atrocious. Try contacting Kesha's official website and ask them. If they allow you, upload the pic in commons with a mail sent to OTRS for the permission. I did a similar thing for Drowned World Tour and got the picture's permissions. Just try sending the mail first, I'll help you with the uploadings. --Legolas (talk2me) 06:15, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, a song on her album titled 'Party at a Rich Dude's House' has lyrics regarding throwing up in a closet. The only Ke$ha article I am primarily associated with is Tik Tok (song), but every now and again I drop an edit on the biography page. Well, I can try and request permissions for an image from the official site. What exactly is a OTRS? • вяαdcяochat 07:03, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
OTRS - Open-source Ticket Request System is a free and open-source trouble ticket system software package that a company, organization, or other entity can use to assign tickets to incoming queries and track further communications about them. It is a means of managing incoming inquiries, complaints, support requests, defect reports, and other communications. All you need to do is contact Kesha's management, saying your user from wikipedia and would like to use an image of Kesha in her biography article on wikipedia. give all the links to the article and your profile page. I just have to find the right place where I can enquire. On the official site, there is a feedback link, which directs you to Sony Music. Maybe I will have to contact the record label somehow. As for PulseMusic, I guess there is no stopping the comparisons. I really do not understand how they are alike, apart from their style of music, which I will admit shares some similarities, but not that many. • вяαdcяochat 12:48, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
You can also try contacting the fan-sites which might have taken her pic and ask them if they intend to release it. It worked for me. About pulse, yeah some user's are really adamant and rude. I wonder what they would have done if they were users of Wikipedia, Banned for sure. --Legolas (talk2me) 12:57, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I notice you seem to be having a spot of bother! Having checked the review page, it appears discussion has gone stale. I won't get involved in the WQA and related miscellany, but if you want an impartial reviewer to give you a proper review, drop me a line. As I hope Ipodnano05 will tell you, I'm not completely useless. Most of the time! All the best, HJMitchell You rang? 12:07, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi Legolas2186. Your WQA brought this GA to my attention. I closed the GA as a fail. Yes, the other editor is involved, so technically cannot review the article (meaning, cannot give the article a passing review). However, an involved editor can and should raise any NPOV issues, and on NPOV issues this article does not meet the GA criteria. The article talk page is full of more of the same, so this is not a case of sabotage. This is a case of both of you needing to resolve an ongoing content dispute. --Una Smith (talk) 18:47, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

  • Hi Legolas , I think you should renominate the article at GAN or you could contest the reviewer's opinion at Wikipedia:Good article reassessment to get a more informative evaluation of the article. A review should provide helpful feedback to enable to you improve the article. This review did not show how the article failed the GAN criteria, in my opinion. Like a Virgin

Hi Legolas, who are you?, its been a while since we chat. I see that you nominated the "Like a Virgin" article to GA, its a very interesting read, I have cross with a few sources that are not present in the article perhaps they could help you expand some of the sections, this is from a magazine Sound on Sound, I have asked before if is reliable and it is, the information is very technical but could be useful for the recording part, [7]. The other one is from a book:

Initially neither Madonna nor Rodgers cared much for "Like a Virgin", written by the songwriter team of Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly, and brought to Madonna's attention by Warner Bros. Records A&R executive Michael Ostin. "I remember hearing a demo and the guys who wrote it were singing," Madonna says. "It sounded really stupid and retarded. I was like, 'Oh my God,' but everyone was saying this was a great song and I was like, 'Gross me out'." However, Madonna soon had second thoughts. "It's weird because I couldn't get it out of my head after I played it, even though I didn't really like it", she says. "It sounded really buble-gummy to me, but it grew on me. I really started to like it, my little gears started clicking, and I tought, 'This could be really cool.' But, my first reaction to it was, 'This is really queer.'"

Rodgers credits Madonna with recognizing the song's potential. "Madonna had a vision. She knew that "Like a Virgin" was the first single on that album. Since she was a woman and clued into what young girls like and feel, she was sold on the song," he says.

The page is 283.

No problem, happy to help you, I thought that at least with this article, the user who is been very annoying with the Paparazzi article can't say that it dosen't discuss anything about the technical part of the song. He just dosen't understand that, that information is not available for every song that is released. But oh well, try to keep editing and enjoy your time here, if you were a bad editor, syou wouldn't get that many articles promoted. Frcm1988 (talk) 12:53, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
I know, that source is very hard to diggest, I will try to help you with this, I will first try to really read all of the article, and then I will post what I think is important here or at least try to :S Frcm1988 (talk) 13:37, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

Ganguly

The website may be blocked at your office in Bangaluru? The playing style is the hardest to ref, I'll ask the monkey as he's done wrote some, though I think he had books. Aaroncrick (talk) 04:28, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

Also, If Ponting gets a very lucky century I'll be more inclined to work on the article, but if he gets out shortly I'll be a bit peeved ... Aaroncrick (talk) 04:30, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

YellowMonkey (talk · contribs) - I haven't uploaded any pics yet. Only six more runs to get - still don't think he'll get 'em. Aaroncrick (talk) 04:45, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

I like that tweak thanks :) Aaroncrick (talk) 09:45, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
Cool, where have you found the biographies. Also, I've never liked those ugly tables at the bottom of the article and they should be converted into prose? Your thoughts? Aaroncrick (talk) 09:53, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

What ref format do you use? I'm using this: <ref name="">{{cite web|url=|title=| publisher=| work = | last= |first= |date= |accessdate= }}</ref> at the moment. Aaroncrick (talk) 10:19, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, also might be nice to mention how he took 3 wickets in the First Test and 3 more in the Second. I don't have time this morning though. Aaroncrick (talk) 20:05, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

There's a bit of stats related jargon in the If Cricket is a religion, Sachin is God book. Never read a more biased book, lol! Although it basically says Ganguly and Dravid are shit and Tendulkar a freak. Aaroncrick (talk) 09:24, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

Just noticed your post on my talkpage - oops. Trying to develop an article that's already 160kb - utterly ridiculous - too big! Aaroncrick (talk) 09:29, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
Wish Ponting was like the Ganguly one! (Interesting to see what comes of that) And I used to think Keith Miller (140kb) was way too big. India got bundled out by Bangladesh! Aaroncrick (talk) 09:42, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
That's the problem with Ponting. I know too much about him so I that's why it's so big. But, hell, who else would care about all that stuff. Aaroncrick (talk) 10:12, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Done? Aaroncrick (talk) 02:16, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

I am gone... Aaroncrick (talk) 10:31, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

Ok; I'll print the article as I can read it better. Also, I may add a link for technical terms if I come across some. List of cricket terms is a good place to start. But I'll do all that - you need a break. Can't get onto my main home laptop as that has had better days, so my editing could be a bit sporadic. Excellent work! If I have a brain wave and remember something significant can I add it? - sourced of course! Look, your section styles have started to make it here! Cricinfo also needs to be untalicised. Why don't you nom the article now? Will take a long time to be reviewed. Ok, I'm off for some tennis watching and copy-editing. Aaroncrick (talk) 10:51, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

Only a week! lol! Why don't you have rollback? Would be a lot easier to revert music related vandalism! Just a nosey related question. Aaroncrick (talk) 11:01, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

Have finished; though, I'll let you do the lead? Aaroncrick (talk) 12:00, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
  • 2006–2007: Comeback and rift with Greg Chappell: "Coming in at 37/4, Ganguly scored 83 in a tour match against the rest of South Africa, modifying his original batting style and taking a middle-stump guard. India won the series because of that innings." Last sentence doesn't make sense... Do you mean match? Aaroncrick (talk) 12:41, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
  • Playing style and influences: "However he criticized Ganguly's ground fielding, especially his slowness in intercepting the ball to prevent runs and his tendency to get injured due to high-jumps during fielding." What does that mean? Aaroncrick (talk) 21:41, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
  • Legacy: "Under Sourav's leadership, India got back the winning habit which the team had forgotten." They were never really successful. Win/loss ratio would have been at 30% at best ... Might try if I can dig up something. Also I suggest Ganguly is used instead of Sourav. Aaroncrick (talk) 21:50, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

Please check to see if there is anything you disagree with. I have only added ALT to one image and haven't gone through the linking. Aaroncrick (talk) 22:19, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

In the Champions Trophy of that year he scored two centuries but his second in the final was in vain as New Zealand won by four wickets." 2000 ICC KnockOut Trophy is the Champions Trophy ... Hi there, I added the comment on this page about the photography and added proof in the discussion section. It was an observation that I could not source, hence why I used the preview of Guy Oseary's book which clearly shows the album cover at 0:19 sec mark. I understand your removal as it did not have a reliable source, but I would appreciate if you did not leave statements in the History section attacking me. I draw your attention to Wikipedia:Civility. Thank you JWAD talk 11:07, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

I do try to reference articles with reliable sources, but I will ensure that I am more vigilant from now on, as you seem to think that I do this on a regular basis. However, i do think that you should speak to other users in a more positive manner, watch the tone you are using and give them a chance to rectify a situation, instead of giving them a dressing down: Wikipedia:Civility. I personally try to improve the articles and mean no harm, but I will take note of what you have said and try to improve. JWAD talk 11:42, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
No problem, I understand completely. Please always assume good faith with my edits, as I do try to improve the articles. I will put it down to you having an off day, which means your only human. Have a good rest of your day :) JWAD talk 12:01, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
Hi, its more of a hobby that I enjoy, I specialise in Graphic Design and love to paint on canvas. I have a degree in GD, but chose not to take it as a career path, but I still enjoy designing cards, CDs, DVDs etc. I have only been to one Madonna concert at Wembley Arena on August 16, 2006 which was amazing, right at the front of the platform. JWAD talk 12:38, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
I was at the edge, right hand front of the platform, with Tracy Emin to the left of me. I loved when she sang "Like It or Not" and point at Tracy when she sang "You be the garden and I'll be the snake", Tracy cheered out loud and was absolutely drunk! Small world! JWAD talk 18:03, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
No, sorry I am the only Madonna geek that I know. Its very hard to get images for those tours as mobile phones were not as good in those days. I tried to take photos at the Confessions Tour but they came out terribly and I had a bloody iTunes ROKR from Motorola! JWAD talk 14:07, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi Legolas, I believe that User:Una Smith's failure of the Paparazzi article was inappropriate, especially when previous contributions/bias by the reviewer were noted by several users including ourselves. Crazy 2K Tour

Hi. I nominated Crazy 2K Tour and red the reasons why you failed it. I understand what you're saying, that's why i took so long to put it in the nominations page; I wasn't sure it was of GA criteria. But how should i merge the articlse? Should it say something like "...Baby One More Time Tour and Crazy 2K Tour are the first and second tours..."? Thanks. --Xwomanizerx (talk) 4:59 19 January 2010 (UTC)

Crazy 2K Tour, from my research I found that it received least notability in media, being probably the extension of the original tour. You can check the article Sticky & Sweet Tour as to how the 2009 extension of the tour was merged in the original article. --Legolas (talk2me) 06:21, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
Yes i could do that, but the two tours have different names, that's my problem. --Xwomanizerx (talk) 5:25 19 January 2010 (UTC)
I'll do that. Last question: Does the ...Baby One More Time Tour page have to go through nomination again? --Xwomanizerx (talk) 5:41 19 January 2010 (UTC)

Links in Madonna song

Hi, I note your recent reversion, and the state of linking in that article. For example:

"The song is set in the time signature of common time, with a moderately dance-groove tempo of 118 beats per minute."

There appears to be no reason to link "time signature", when four characters later a more specific link-target appears, which is of greater use to the reader. "Beats per minute" is readily understandable by anyone over the age of four; it does not need a link, surely. I'm keen that wikilinking be rationed to the most useful links, to funnel readers down the right path. Then they're more likely to click. Tony (talk) 06:09, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

  • Actually, it's the same link, but applied to a more specific term just a few words later. Either way, I think having two is unnecessary. Ohconfucius ¡digame! 06:50, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
Legolas, I'm fine thanks. I hope you are well. Tony (talk) 09:46, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

Re:Dance-pop

Well, we simply file a WP:SPI I guess, unless it is to early to do so. What are your thoughts? • вяαdcяochat 04:35, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

An SPI is already in place for Dance-pop, however, I always screw it up while opening. Let's just wait a few days to be 100% sure, although my intuitions are never wrong about him. --Legolas (talk2me) 04:40, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
Ok, sure. Based on my judgements, I also have a good feeling it is him. Anyway, I have a question. On a song article, where the song has not been confirmed as a single, is it necessary to report on whether it has received any airplay, or not? • вяαdcяochat 04:49, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
There are two scenarios for it. See, basically radio doesnot choose to play a song based on its single release. It plays it if it gets an audience impression for it. Hence the fact that a song being officially released as a single and its airplay are not interrelated factor. Secondly, information about the airplay can be included in the song, if it makes to the airplay chart or has been listed under the official website of the radio where it is being played and that too, on heavy rotation. --Legolas (talk2me) 04:57, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

7 Things GAN

Hello, Legolas! Thanks again for offering to review 7 Things. You began the review Jan 11 but haven't added your comments yet, so I thought I would remind you about it in case you'd forgotten. Liquidlucktalk 23:09, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, I've been taking my time completing the comments; I'll be done in a few minutes (I just edit conflicted with you). I think it is just the alt text I have left to do. I hope you didn't think the not dones were a rejection of your comments; they were more for reference, so I could easily see what I hadn't done and so you could quickly see the issues I had problems doing. Would you please take a look at the background section? I had a couple of issues there. Liquidlucktalk 05:17, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. Just two not-dones left- will you check to make sure they're alright? Liquidlucktalk 05:35, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

Thanks so much for your review, particularly for your patience and thoroughness. I very much appreciate it. Liquidlucktalk 05:42, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

Hello Legolas

I was wandering if you could help me. I really like your user page but I have no idea how to make boxes of any sort on mine. I want it to look more professional so I have removed everything off of it. Any help you could give me on how to edit it would be greatly appreciated! I like the song box you have down the side, if there is a blank template you could send me it would be good!! Thanks! Jayy008 (talk) 01:16, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

Content

Not sure, I think you can add ALT to infobox now, never used to be able to though. Don't worry about the content in Ganguly, perfectly acceptable for GA. YM likes articles fat - as you've probably noticed - and has the most FA's on en wiki where the standards are different to GA. I'll add bits and pieces - have already started - and we still have a long time till a review I presume. Aaroncrick (talk) 03:59, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

Done, may need tweaking though. Aaroncrick (talk) 04:18, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

Personnel for Gaga articles

I've added personnel sections to the following articles: Just Dance, LoveGame, Paparazzi (Lady Gaga song), Poker Face (Lady Gaga song), Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say), Beautiful, Dirty, Rich, Bad Romance, Speechless (Lady Gaga song), and Telephone (song). Let me know if you need this done for any other article! –Chase (talk) 22:53, 26 January 2010 (UTC)

Why do you keep on removing the cover image of Telephone (song)? Not only is there no reason to, but there is now a lot of versions of the file (simply do a search for it) because they have not been deleted! Could you please at least give a reason on the article's talk page. Adabow (talk) 09:59, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

I don't have to, because it is clear that these covers are pure fan-arts and it hasnot been confirmed by any reliable source. --Legolas (talk2me) 10:19, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

GA review of Sticky & Sweet Tour

Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself and let you know I am glad to be reviewing the article Sticky & Sweet Tour you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Mm40 (talk) 13:02, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

Are you OK with me putting the article on hold while an independent copy-edit is done? See the review page for my comments. Mm40 (talk) 13:03, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

Telephone

My edit for "Telephone" was correct, it was indeed revealed at 22:00 Eastern Canadian Time yesterday that the new peak of Telephone in Canada was 10, not 12, and fully revealed to the public this morning on the Billboard website. I was not making up peaks, I changed the peak to the new one knowing that the cited source would be updated a few hours later. It's quite rude to accuse me of chart peak vandalism, when evidently I was updating to its new peak as of last night. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chele9211 (talkcontribs) 14:51, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

Untill and unless the source is updated, you are adding an unsourced content, which is unacceptable. SEcondly, persisting to add such content is vandalism for which the warning was given. Be patient next time. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:40, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

Chopping in on this...I noticed no sources provided for Telephone as a single, AllMusic still lists nothing, and a Google search brings up no legitimate news sources. Have you been provided with links that were not in the article? Let me know plz. (this page is fine, no need to split it at mine)...I have removed it yet again pending the news and proper information being added. CycloneGU (talk) 13:50, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
ADD-IN: Alright, checked the source you listed for the single. All it shows is charting, not official statements that the single is out. Songs can chart without actually being released as singles, I have seen several cases of this with various artists since the days of the Internet came to be. I still see no document officially stating that Telephone was released as a single. On that note, someone else did remove the information you added about Telephone charting; I did not do that, so I'll let you handle that one. CycloneGU (talk) 13:57, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

@Legolas I did not persist, I merely changed it once when you changed it back within 10 minutes, so that would not be the definition of "persisting to add such content." I can update the source early but given the nature of Billboard and their disregard for Canada as a music market it dictates that it must be a screengrab. You may notice that any sources given for Canadian chart positions are broken links. I would say that less than 50% of all Canadian chart positions are unsourced and this cannot be helped. Even websites like acharts have missing data.
@Cyclone Telephone has a confirmed UK release and a US radio adds date, meaning that it is indeed a single. AllAccess' information has confirmed this.Chele9211 18:32, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
At the time I made the edit, someone had blanked "Telephone" out of the Singles section. Since a date was given, I figured it was legit. but there was no source, so I removed it pending the provision of a source.
As the article appears now, with two sources next to the statement, I am quite satisfied at this time with its appearance. =) CycloneGU (talk) 04:14, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Lol. Hindi is the national language of India, hence I know it. But Bengali is my mothertongue, the language in which I normally converse with family. As for the article, I need a thorough copy-editing. You English is actually quite good. I saw you ce the Ganguly article. --Legolas (talk2me) 10:01, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
Exactly what I thought was the case; I guess Hindi is the predominate language in Bangaluru? Same old Gaga Vandalism. —Aaroncrick (talk) 10:09, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
Kannada is the predominant language in Bengaluru since it is in South India, in the state of Karnataka. And yeah, same vandalism, usual day on Wikipedia for me. Finished "Material Girl", was not such a good article though. :) --Legolas (talk2me) 10:12, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
I'm better off sticking to my English, I guess. Without looking, what's wrong with the article? Found this amusing; not too impressed ... —Aaroncrick (talk) 10:20, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
*Chuckles* What the hell was that? Tony1? The epitome of perfect and pristine language? About S&S tour, the GA reviewer gave me seven days to copyedit the article as he/she believes that many grammatical errors are present in it. Hence asking you to do a little ce and if you find any inconsistencies in it. --Legolas (talk2me) 10:24, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
I see, well there's some pressure. I'm happy to do so; however, is Brad in the process of doing one? —Aaroncrick (talk) 10:30, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
Well, I did ask Brad. However, he only ce the lead and left, I guess I can't pressurize people. --Legolas (talk2me) 10:33, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

(Outdent)LOL. Don't say that. Already its so difficult at FAC with Tony1. --Legolas (talk2me) 10:40, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

Always leads to substantial improvements, though. Now he's becoming perdantic with linking which I don't necessarily agree with. Anyway, are you going to FAC again, or have you been turned off? —Aaroncrick (talk) 11:00, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
Better let you go, though, notify me next time if you gave a GTC up and running, because I really venture there. —Aaroncrick (talk) 11:04, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

Comma's before the year aren't necessary, according to this PR. —Aaroncrick (talk) 00:24, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

Oh, I haven't done much, just some tweaks. I'm waiting for a response. —Aaroncrick (talk) 21:23, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

Re:Sticky & Sweet Tour

No problem Legolas, I'd be glad to do that. –Chase (talk) 22:31, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

Hi, just thought I'd let you know I got around to copyediting the first part of the article. I'm kind of busy at the moment but I'll do some more later. –Chase (talk) 23:08, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
Whatever you could do, I'm thankful for it that you were able to take time out of your busy schedule. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:39, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

Charts

Hi, I was wondering why charts such as Hot Dance Play and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs aren't included in the Charts section on articles of Lady Gaga songs. Since the articles are of such prominence, I thought I would ask before adding them since there is more than likely a reason the charts aren't listed. Thanks!! Candyo32 (talk) 16:56, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

The reason they are not included is because of the number of charts already present. It was making the table too long and hence was decided that genre charts are best kept in the prose. In places where the number of charts are less, such as "Telephone", the genre chart has been kept. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:40, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
