Phenobarbital[edit]

Hi. I noticed your vet edits to various drugs and I guess this may be your speciality. If so, you are very welcome as your knowlege is useful. However, Wikipedia has strict rules about adding information – see WP:VERIFY and WP:CITE. In the case of phenobarbital, you edited a paragraph added by User:Fvasconcellos that cited a vet manual as the source of its information. You changed the text and dropped the clause about the treatment of status. However, you kept the citation and didn't add another. Does this source support your edits? If not, can you supply a reference that does? Was there a good reason to drop that clause? If your edits are based on your own experience or practice, then they are not allowed unless you can find an independent source to back it up – see WP:OR.

When you change (rather than just add) text, it is useful to add more info to the Edit Summary. In addition, if you disagree with the existing text, it might be helpful/polite to add a comment to the talk page explaining what you've done. Don't worry, we want you to be bold in updating pages, but adding some explanation helps everyone understand why and hopefully avoids people getting upset.

Don't let all these guidelines put you off editing. If you have any questions, ask me on my talk page. Colin°Talk 20:30, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've left a comment on the Phenobarbital talk page regarding your recent edit. Thanks again. Fvasconcellos 22:00, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
