Still missing old threads and archiving newer threads instead[edit]

Per User_talk:Σ/Archive/2015/January#Bot keeps missing old talk, archiving newer talk, here's another case where the bot misses old threads which use datestamps of the format {{unsigned}} or {{undated}} as assigned by sinebot (talk · contribs) when people sign incorrectly. Prearchive - Postarchive - diff -- Note that the thread with the newest timestamp as "17:46, 4 June 2007‎ (UTC)" was not archived, but the thread with the newest timestamp as "07:39, 24 February 2011 (UTC)" was archived. So there is a problem with timestamp identification, and to me, it appears that {{subst:undated|17:46, 4 June 2007‎ (UTC)}} or {{subst:unsigned|someusername|17:46, 4 June 2007‎ (UTC)}} are not being processed properly.

There's a left-to-right mark in the string right after the "2007". Malformed timestamps are not parsed. Σσς(Sigma) 00:31, 15 January 2015 (UTC)
I'd say that's something that seems not too uncommon, since atleast in the Inter Milan case, it is a result of copying the page history listing. Thanks for clarifying the unseen hidden character error though. It seems to also be the problem with the earlier already archived discussion. -- 65.94.40.137 (talk) 05:31, 15 January 2015 (UTC)

Lowercase sigmabot III ignores edit conflicts[edit]

If another editor edits a a page while Lowercase sigmabot III is editing it (which is a relatively rare race condition), it overwrites their change instead of failing and retrying. It seems to me that this is happening because it's not sending basetimestamp and starttimestamp when it's editing. Can you see if you can fix this? Jackmcbarn (talk) 01:12, 22 January 2015 (UTC)

Hey Sigma.[edit]

Do you remember me? From about two or three years ago? I've moved on from Wikipedia. I've done a lot of things on other wikis such as the ones I've contributed to on Wikia. I've basically been inactive and I don't really ever plan to return to editing Wikipedia. Not because it's a bad site, but because it makes me feel bad thinking of how I've annoyed others or perhaps just not really contributed to WP in a proper manner. I want to make a new account here so as to feel like it's a fresh start so I can feel like I'm not burdened by my previous thousands of edits. But I'm unwilling and I refuse to request the admins do all that--not to give me a fresh start, but because my userpage templates, as few as they are, may be useful to others in the future. And it reveals my personality from late 2012, as the troll I ended up being for a few months, wanting so desperately to help everyone and then in my free time just acting in a way I sort of regret personally now. I have my reasons for leaving this old account as is instead of asking admins to essentially remove me from the site for a fresh start, and they're too long to list.

Ah, I'm rambling on again. I just wanted to message you and let you know that I'm not dead. If I ever do make a new account, it will be under the username of MichiRecRoom (or something similar if it's taken by that point). But for now I'll be inactive. And when I become active again, it will be under that account name. I've changed a lot over those two or three years, and I feel that it would be better I start over on a new account than look bad to others from how I acted before. And if you ever want to talk to me wiki style, I go by a similar name on Wikia as I do here, Likelakers22. (Please note the lowercase L, I messed up when creating my username)

(Delete this off of your talk page if you want, I just wanted to message you and let you know all that, since you always come to mind when I think of Wikipedia.) -LikeLakers2 (talk | Sign my guestbook!) 20:18, 22 January 2015 (UTC)
