Karen Drambjan

I am not yet seeing that other editors would support your proposal at WP:AE#Russavia. Petri Krohn is against putting Category:Far-left politics on the article. Do you see him proposing it be in a subcategory? I don't think he took that step. And where is the evidence that any other editors want such a category on the article? Collect is not definite on what he prefers. Diffs would be helpful. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 01:20, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

Your AE complaint has been closed with no action against Russavia. In the Result section I've explained how I think the interaction ban should work. Note that there is a different way of setting up interaction bans proposed by T. Canens. It is possible that the T. Canens 'strict liability ban' might be easier to enforce and easier for the participants to live with. This is an idea that might be considered for the future. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 04:42, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

Nomination of United States resolution on the 90th anniversary of the Latvian Republic for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article United States resolution on the 90th anniversary of the Latvian Republic is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/United States resolution on the 90th anniversary of the Latvian Republic until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Russavia Let's dialogue 21:18, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

Category:Far-left politics

I would appreciate if you would give consideration to the CfD and investigate whether the subject represents a meaningful topic. I have searched Google books and Google scholar but cannot find any consistent use of the term. I would be appreciative if you could show that there is a consistent definition. TFD (talk) 04:26, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

Proposed amendment

See User talk:EdJohnston#Draft amendment for a draft of an amendment to EEML and ARBRB which could be submitted through WP:A/R/A. The proposal would lift the interaction ban between you and Russavia. If you have an opinion, you can reply here. If you interpret your interaction ban with Russavia as not allowing you to reply on the wiki, then you can send me some email. (I personally would not impose any sanctions for reasonable on-wiki discussion about this or similar topics). EdJohnston (talk) 15:24, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

A request to lift your interaction ban with Russavia has been filed

Please see Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Amendment#Request to amend prior case: Russavia-Biophys. You are invited to add your own statement there. Since we have discussed this previously, my assumption is that you would favor lifting the ban. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 18:49, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

Far-left politics

I can't believe you would seriously think that those inflammatory words are appropriate per WP:NPOV. One source does not a fact make. I will not be the only editor who feels this way so I suggest you take it to the talk page. freshacconci talktalk 22:32, 4 September 2011 (UTC)

You appear to be edit-warring on this article against consensus. TFD (talk) 01:29, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
Nope, you made the last revert which deleted all progress made. Concensus was achieved when we agreed that proper atttribution needed[1]. --Martin Tammsalu (talk) 02:20, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

Socialist Left Party (Norway)

Stop adding right-wing propaganda on to this page. To actually claim that this party is far-right, or even close to that, is laughable. How do I know this? I'm Norwegian, I read the newspapers, I have a degree and I've have a ton of sources. Don't edit topics you clearly don't know shit about. --TIAYN (talk) 18:50, 8 September 2011 (UTC)

Just because the Social Democrats have an article published by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation that calls all their opposition on the left "far left" does not make it a fact. Wikipedia is not supposed to be written from a partisan point of view, including Social Democratic. Also please read my reply on the RfC at Talk:Far-left politics#RfC: What is the subject of this article? TFD (talk) 19:07, 8 September 2011 (UTC)

Interaction ban

It appears that the Arbcom is dragging its feet, or ignoring our request completely. As there is already interactions going on at different talk pages between ourselves, I think we simply do what I and Miacek did. Agree to interactions between ourselves, so long at we avoid commenting on each other; if we keep it confined to content only we should be fine. Would you be agreeable to that? Russavia Let's dialogue 14:38, 19 September 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, I agree. At this rate Arbcom could take months. --Martin Tammsalu (talk) 20:01, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
OK, I will write something up on the amendment request in the next day or so. It will be as follows:

"After discussion on Tammsalu's talk page (with a link to this provided), Tammsalu and I have agreed that we have no problem with mutual interactions, and we both agree that these interactions will be restricted to commenting on content only, with no commenting on each other as editors. We therefore jointly ask that the Committee to implement an amendment as follows

The remedies of the Eastern European mailing list and Russavia-Biophys cases are amended to permit bilateral interactions between User:Russavia and User:Tammsalu, with the provision that interactions are restricted to content only.

Interactions are already taking place on Talk:Occupation of the Baltic States, and the Committee's delaying in attending to this request is making it impossible to edit collaboratively within the letter of the current restriction."

We can then both agree with it on the amendment request page, and then they can do it in their own time. It's pointless waiting for them any longer. Also, if you want to change the wording or whatever of the above, feel free, and if you want to post it you can; if not I'll put it up in a day or so. --Russavia Let's dialogue 20:55, 19 September 2011 (UTC)

ArbCom being ArbCom, they tend to want to handcraft their own motion, so I wouldn't worry about the precise wording but my preference is for a motion similar to the one between you and Miacek. Just bring it to their attention that this delay is just making things awkward, I think I was the last to comment at the request page, may be you can do it this time if like. --Martin Tammsalu (talk) 03:17, 20 September 2011 (UTC)

Hey, I have added a note at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Amendment#Statement_by_Russavia. would you like to peruse it and comment if needed. Also, what do you think of Kirill's comment which I have just seen? Given that we both have legitimate reasons for editing in overlapping, and similar areas, it's my feeling it is a bit of an over-reaction on his part. Particularly when you and I are trying to find a way to bury the hatchet, the last thing that we both need is for the hatchet to stay lodged in each others back. --Russavia Let's dialogue 14:55, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

Lede for mass killings

I shall write one up today, it will no doubt be an entire waste of time given regardless of the sources used they are never "good enough" this is proved out on the talk page were two sources from the academic press presented by myself have been deemed no good by PS and TFD. The Last Angry Man (talk) 09:12, 26 September 2011 (UTC)

The key is not to select down to particular sources but figure out how to present them all in a consistent fashion. There is no reputable account of history which is written from unanimous sources. PЄTЄRS J V TALK 00:58, 27 September 2011 (UTC)
Would either of you guys consider expanding on my proposal? If references are not counted there is room for more. The Last Angry Man (talk) 16:39, 27 September 2011 (UTC)

Another new name?

Any story behind this one? ~~ Lothar von Richthofen (talk) 04:39, 27 October 2011 (UTC)

My old name served its purpose. "Nug" was my nickname as a kid, so when I saw it was available, I thought why not. I promise it will be my last change for a while. :o) --Nug (aka Martin Tammsalu) (talk) 09:25, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
Your previous one sounded like a cure for the flu :o) Nug? Sounds like a Ferengi name The Last Angry Man (talk) 10:27, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
As Ferengi say, n-t'gahv't n-d'fuet paag s'zuh-koo' .... ;o) --Nug (talk) 11:12, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
As I recall, Nog wasn't terribly interested in profit. :-) PЄTЄRS J V TALK 11:45, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
Ah, but profit does not necessarily need to be monetary... :o)) --Nug (talk) 12:05, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
Ah, ok. See, where I'm from, "nug" has a rather, hmmm.... "special" meaning. ~~ Lothar von Richthofen (talk) 14:09, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
In the department of not recognizing opportunity and profit, is this a good time and place to note that Latvians used to make "hemp butter" (from the seeds, like peanut butter) and simply discarded the leaves? PЄTЄRS J V TALK 15:30, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
If TLAM finds the previous name a valuable cure for flue, once sick, he might wanna try local Estonian courses - if offered! - cuz the name sounded quite like everyday Estonian for me! Ok, the dictionary word for oak grove is tammik, but Tamsalu is actually a town in Lääne-Virumaa, so it still counts. Estlandia (dialogue) 12:08, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
  • This is fairly confusing, but I hope you enjoy editing under your new user name. Fifelfoo (talk) 07:22, 23 November 2011 (UTC)

Warning about user Dilas25

Dilas25 is having a POV agenda against Estonia and everything Estonian. For example I reverted his POV "editions" (his/her own personal comments which are not the same with the sources he/she adds) about Russians in Estonia in the Nation State article. Could you check and if necessary warn this user, and that he/she does not add POV remarks that often contradict the sources he/she adds. Thank you.

Hi. When you recently edited Russophobia, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Boris Berezovsky (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Andres Oper

Andres Oper played in Torpedo Moscow, so maybe it should still be under WP Russia. Pelmeen10 (talk) 21:28, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

I see what you mean. This style is used quite rarely, but is used. I think it depends on WP members, what articles they want in their WP. There are some foreign football players or without nationality in WP Estonia also. And Andres Oper wasn't the only footballer that Grayhood tagged WP Russia. Anyway I'm not sure what we should do.
