Disambiguation link notification for January 5[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Southcote Lock, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Southcote (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Rename of Infobox lock[edit]

Just edited County Lock and was surprised that one of the side effects of my edit was to redlink the infobox template. Digging further, I found that you had moved the template into user space. As there were no explanatory comments, I assumed this was an error and reverted your move. But looking even further, I see that all this is fairly recent and maybe was deliberate. Please feel free to remove, but could you please remove all references to the template in article space first, otherwise we end up with a bit of a mess. -- chris_j_wood (talk) 20:31, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

Digging a little further, I've discovered there is already a Template:Infobox waterlock, which probably should be used. -- chris_j_wood (talk) 20:43, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
Yep, that's why I reverted. All my hard work before finding the existing infobox! That's why I pulled it out of use as soon as I noticed. I'd only put the 'new' template on 3 pages (so not much to revert). If I get the chance I'll look to merging some of the new bits into the existing infobox (particularly formatting). Thanks for the message. matt (talk) 00:26, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
All my hard work before finding the existing infobox. Know the feeling. :-( Thanks for fixing it up. -- chris_j_wood (talk) 13:45, 6 January 2014 (UTC)

Julián Ladera[edit]

Sorry for the confusion. When I approved it, I was reading it in the sense of "Julián Ladera was born in a town that is now a ghost village". If you'll read the whole discussion (perhaps you have; I'm sorry if I'm telling you what you already know), you'll see that the place was destroyed by the Vargas tragedy of 1999, and you'll also see that I was completely unaware of the situation (originally rejecting parts of the article because I misunderstood what had happened) until someone had to give me a link to the tragedy and explain how it was relevant. Book[edit]

Not sure how familiar you actually are with musical's but a Book in the infobox or talked about in a musical article is the book of the musical. It is not referring at all to the show being based on a book. Every musical has a book.Blethering Scot 17:27, 6 February 2014 (UTC)

Yup, my bad. I was only skim reading—must be these late nights I'm currently having (yes, you guessed it—working on a musical of all things). matt (talk) 22:29, 6 February 2014 (UTC)

key[edit]

This song is in F major or G-flat major ? 166.48.184.66 (talk) 23:32, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

As with previous questions (like this one from December), it's somewhere between F major and F (or G) major. It isn't definitely one or the other—the reason for this being the same explanation as before. Happy to help! matt (talk) 13:12, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

These three songs use this key too ? 166.48.173.20 (talk) 02:33, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

Yep. matt (talk) 08:46, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

This song is in G-flat major or E-flat minor ? 166.48.169.109 (talk) 02:44, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

Stale drafts[edit]

Hi, I stumbled across User:Mattgirling/Theale, Berkshire. Because of WP:STALEDRAFT, this ought to be blanked or deleted. As you're both active here and an admin, you probably need no further help to review your user sub-pages and do what's needed, so over to you! Best wishes, – Fayenatic London 20:43, 4 March 2014 (UTC)

Hi, you may have been too busy to bother with this, so I blanked that one and tagged another with {{user draft}}. No offence intended. Please review your other sub-pages that look like articles. – Fayenatic London 10:07, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

key[edit]

This song is in which key ? It's very hard to tell. 166.48.198.52 (talk) 19:13, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

Hi. I'm sorry but I can't keep helping with these questions. It may be worth reading up on topics such as relative pitch and the A440 pitch standard. I have previously explained why these examples don't fall into one key or another if using standard A440 tuning. matt (talk) 15:11, 20 March 2014 (UTC)

Avoncliff Aqueduct[edit]

Thanks for your edit to Avoncliff Aqueduct but I wasn't sure if your edit summary was a question "Can standard craft (for that navigation) pass on the aqueduct"? If so yes narrowboats etc on the K&A can pass over it, but the River Avon beneath it can only be navigated by canoes etc.— Rod talk 14:21, 17 August 2014 (UTC)

Thanks, Rod—my summary was quoting the infobox documentation, which says that that particular field should give info on the craft (i.e. narrowboats) travelling over the aqueduct; as they are able to travel over it I changed it to "yes". Hope this makes sense! matt (talk) 14:24, 17 August 2014 (UTC)
