Wikipedia has become an impersonal, unfriendly place. Growth and innovation are unrewarded and unwelcome. The sense of humor and the camaraderie are dead. There is no more community any more.

Above all else, I was an editor from November 8, 2003 to November 19, 2011. --Merovingian (T, C, L)

Hello Merovingian. While Wikipedia has negative elements and conflicts, I don't think it's entirely impersonal or without merit. Sometimes it helps to take a break and try working on different projects for a while. You might find, for example, that working on WP:PR or helping other editors with their projects is beneficial and rewarding. Just a thought. Regards, RJH (talk) 16:45, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
I will truly miss seeing your asteroid stubs show up in Special:NewPages. Best wishes, and good luck. →Στc. 21:59, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
You did? Were you trying to look out for bad new article creations or something? You checked what the articles were? Why didn't you say something? Did you say anything? What happened? Chrisrus (talk) 04:02, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
Kind of a bad place to make a point. If you think there's a problem with something, this isn't the place to complain. — Moe ε 22:43, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
It's not to make a point. It's to find out how this happened. Chrisrus (talk) 22:48, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
I would suggest you take my advice and stop beating a dead horse. If Merovingian has left Wikipedia, there is nothing to accomplish commenting on his talk page. — Moe ε 22:51, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
on the contrary, we have to study why people leave, in order to save the place. "camaraderie is dead" could use with an exit interview. Slowking4†@1₭ 13:18, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
If you have a legitimate concern with something, take it elsewhere to a relevant project page or noticeboard since he is inactive. His talk page, nor any users talk page, isn't for "studies" of why people leave. — Moe ε 15:25, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
See you around, friend. — Moe ε 22:34, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
Discussion is still ongoing, as it should be: see Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)#Inconsistent application of notability. As someone who is science-literate but not a scientist, I was and remain fascinated by your work on Minor planets. I'm now wondering what will happen to all the Lepidoptera articles I contributed to that wouldn't appear to pass WP:GNG. Or for that matter, Cricket players, or Australian Football players. Even if you aren't contributing, please keep watching. Stay around, Merovingian.--Shirt58 (talk) 14:40, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
Ah... ...too bad. While I don't 100% agree with what you say, I certainly understand it. I note an Arbitrator recently remarked that an apparently productive strategy would have been "so 2007". I feel that there is a conflict between creators and curators. (If I were being uncharitable I might say those who want to do what curators do, but fail miserably.) [edit] Proposed deletion of (10562) 1993 UB1

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article (10562) 1993 UB1 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No sign of notability

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
