You could ask Tony for a copyedit, like Tito suggested. I've rewritten the manga guide, it's fairly wide, I need to read the whole saga synopsis to straighten out the kinks. Cheers, Highway Batman! 18:43, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think it means every all. ;) I still think it needs a built of work, and definitely a copy edit. Highway Batman! 19:15, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. Are you planning on nominating the article yourself? If you do, it'd probably be harder than in another user did so. Highway Batman! 20:00, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I'm sure. The only thing that has put more work on us is putting thing on FAC! It wasn't ready, and next time it will be even harder to pass it. Highway Batman! 15:53, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Could you stop bad mouthing me? Highway Batman! 18:38, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well you shouldn't have nominated it with a section like that. If you given others a chance to edit it, then it would be fine. Highway Batman! 18:41, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

I saw your comment on Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Where.

You are correct in that I did not accept that nomination (although I accepted a later one).

Peer review[edit]

Oh, it isn't a problem; it just appears like that. The rectangle should have a whole bunch of {{subst:User:AndyZ/PR/something}} templates on it. These can be traced through User:AndyZ/PR. I could change it all to text, but that would take just about forever, and plus with longer articles there would be so much that it would be near unreadable. Andy t 21:22, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

smile[edit]

Charizard[edit]

I'm not that good at copyediting; I've cleaned up a couple of loose ends, but overall, the article seems pretty good now. smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 19:41, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'd wait a little longer; people at FAC don't like Pokémon, so they will object on the smallest error. Once the peer review finishes though, go for it! smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 19:49, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The "Other Media" section needs cleanup, but once that's done, I'd say it should be good enough. smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 13:01, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Try merging the Manga section in "Other Media", as has been done on Bulbasaur. smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 18:55, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps give users time to copyedit the article; it's not looking bad at all, but I'm still not quite sure about supporting. smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 19:47, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Generally if the information is available from a book or an essay, using websites is not a good idea. However, something like Pokémon has very few books published about it. Serebii is OK because that is considered one of the main sources for Pokémon info, while a smaller, less complete might not be as good a source. smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 15:14, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Image:Team Rocket Jessie.jpg[edit]

Hey, you recently uploaded Image:Team Rocket Jessie.jpg, and it currently lacks a source. If you could add this information to the image, it would be deeply appreciated. Cheers, Highway Batman! 08:36, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

your request[edit]

I'm not remotely interested in the topic. Tony 14:15, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In other media[edit]

Whew, sorry for getting mad, I just don't like FACs. They put a ton of pressure on everyone, and there's a sudden rush to do everything. I expanded Charizard#In other media, is it better now? I just did a run around of Hasbro to see what they had, window shopping indeed. I was wondering what your thoughts were on the Pokémon Tales note, do you think we should keep it? I know a couple of books by Hannah Barbo feature Charizard so I could expand on it if you wish. Sorry again, Highway Batman! 11:29, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You can't just take the first Amazon one you see. If you looked for the bigger image, it wouldn't have "LOOK INSIDE" scrawled across the top. Highway Batman! 13:51, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling[edit]

If you're leaving a message, could you check your spelling first, it's hard enough to read message at 10pm without random K's in it. Cheers, Highway Batman! 21:02, 15 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

MFD: Wikipedia:Featured users Notification[edit]

In case you're not aware, another user has nominated the page Wikipedia:Featured users for deletion, and it looks like you're the page's original author, so it's general Wikiquette to inform you.

Apologies if you already know!

EVOCATIVEINTRIGUE TALKTOME | EMAILME | IMPROVEME 14:13, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Apology, I just wanted to be making a special part in Wikipedia, in that case scheduling the users. Is there anything that I could do that would be acceptable?

I didn't nominate your page, but the editor who did will be noted on the MFD page. Just because it's nominated doesn't necessarily mean it will be deleted: you can comment on the page as to why it should be kept and suggestions for its improvement. I wouldn't worry about it and concentrate on other articles. If you're after a light-hearted side of Wikipedia, try Esperanza.

Regards,

EVOCATIVEINTRIGUE TALKTOME | EMAILME | IMPROVEME 15:03, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your advice, i'll try to be as nice as possible, the only problem is that i've made quite a lot of mistakes by accident. Can you help me become a better editor, cheers

I wouldn't worry about it, everyone makes mistakes, and your idea was made in good faith- I actually rather like the idea, but have to agree that it may create disharmony.

If you want to become a better editor, I'd suggest taking a look at 'admin-coaching'. I tried looking for the link but can't see it now: If I find it I'll post it!

EVOCATIVEINTRIGUE TALKTOME | EMAILME | IMPROVEME 15:25, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

...is there anything else I can do?

You're not doing anything bad at all in my opinion, and your edits seem to be made with good faith. Remember, one of the founding principles of Wikipedia is be bold!

That's a tough question. I'm probably not the best person to ask about writing good prose. But if you want to learn to write better, probably the best two things to do are 1) write more - simply, the more you write, the better you will get at it; and 2) read more, and pay attention to what makes what you read most enjoyable. I don't know what more to say other than that. Cheers, --Ed (Edgar181) 19:03, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jolly Roger[edit]

Dear sir
Re. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jolly Roger Restaurant, I am seeking consensus. Toward meeting your interests, the topic already exists in improved and complete form, per Wikipedia standards, in context, at Lake City, Seattle, Washington#Storied past. The piece was chopped out by a newbie. The damage was soon repaired, and I've been trying to clean up this uprooted duplicate leftover. For Wikipedia quality, I would prefer disposing of this odd snippet, rather than leaving a scrap lying about. I am the original researcher and author of the topic in the article, post [1]. The Jolly Roger story is an integral part of the character of Lake City, but it is otherwise not particularly encyclopedic.

So toward consenus, would you change your vote to delete? Thank you for your consideration. --GoDot 15:04, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Phallic decorations[edit]

Though it was corrected before I noticed, my user talk page was also vandalized with a very large "before and after" picture. Honestly, though I have sent out a few vandalism warnings (never for any Pokémon pages), I've never said a cross word to anyone on Wikipedia. Since the Flaaffy page was hit, as was yours, and both of us are members of the PCP and have usernames with Pokémon references, I can only conclude this was a categorical vandalism rather than personal (boy, am I great at grasping the obvious or what, heheh). My questions to you are whether this has happened before, whether I can expect it again, and if you've any clue why someone would vandalize something so uncontroversial. Of all the things I've edited, the Pokémon pages are the last I'd expect to incite such silliness. Cheers! --Chuchunezumi 03:56, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Minun (again)!

The best way to earn appreciation from other editors is to keep editing articles in general: making small changes, expanding articles where needed and always being friendly, as you seem to be anyway. You could try joining some portals to extend the people you know in Wikipedia, as well as using the coffee lounge.

I wouldn't worry too much about earning appreciation from others though!

Help/GA[edit]

You could try this article, which is pretty helpful, especially the area covering stability: if the article in question is in an edit war, it's likely to make the nomination void. Also of interest might be this table of criteria for good articles.

Which articles in particular are you considering improving? Once you're done, ask me if you want another set of eyes cast over it for copyediting etc before submitting it, I'd be happy to help.

Thanks for the barnstar!!![edit]

I really appreciate the barnstar you gave me! Thanks so much! --Tuspm (C | @) 16:52, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

GA articles[edit]

If you want to expand Pokémon articles to GA standards, look at current GA articles, such as Golduck, Hoppip or Eevee. Cheers, Highway Return to Oz... 17:02, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Coffee Lounge games[edit]

All you need to do is visit this page and click on a link in the template at the top to the game of your choice. Hangman's quite popular, as is noughts and crosses, but the rules for each game should be posted on the page.

If you can't see a game that's free, start a new one- it's quite easy going, and no-one will mind: they might even welcome the challenge!

Regards,

Dear Minun[edit]

Dear Minun, I just noticed you decided to remove yourself from my RfA... is there something wrong, hun? Did I do something that I'm not aware of, or is there some kind of problem? If you feel I'm not worthy of your support for any reason, that's ok - but I just want to know if I inadvertedly did something wrong. I'd be glad to hear you. I hope you're doing fine. Argh! You almost killed me, Minun hun! ;) Thanks for the clarification - tho I think you should de-indent your comment, since it's not being counted right now. While we're at this, allow me to tell you you have one of the coolest sigs I've "ever" seen, and a beautiful userpage too. I promise we'll talk more later - I'm at work now, shh! don't tell anybody! ;) Hugs, Phaedriel The Wiki Soundtrack! - 19:47, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome To Esperanza![edit]

Welcome, Sean gorter, to Esperanza! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is the StressUnit, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Proposals.

If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Natalya by email or talk page or the Esperanza talk page. Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, you may find help at an IRC Tutorial. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!

RFA[edit]

Thanks for nominating me, I was thinking about it anyway, but kept chickening out because I wanted more main space edits! EVOCATIVEINTRIGUE TALKTOME | EMAILME | IMPROVEME 12:18, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Arbitration case[edit]

Please do not try to sway arbitrator's involved in your case, it will not help your case. Highway Return to Oz... 14:08, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't want bought off, I want you to stop nominating articles that you haven't even chaged, and to stop trying to get out of your abritration case. It isn't that easy. Highway Return to Oz... 14:34, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure the article is ready for GA yet- the tone needs a little work.

Thanks for nominating me for RfA, but I have a feeling it'll fail.

Charizard[edit]

It's far to soon for a third FAC; try reading User:Jengod/Some common objections to featured status and how to avoid them and User:Taxman/Featured article advice and nominate it again in a month or so. smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 17:54, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Stress[edit]

  • Thanks for the note. My stress was getting to be okay, until this AfD got my account deleted at a message board he runs. Ick... Danny Lilithborne 00:40, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

hello[edit]

Hello. can i join espanaranza. How can i join?

Wiki assassin 08:35, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again. I am new around here. What do we do in Ezperanza (dance?) and how can i learn about making borders, boxs and backgrounds?

RfA (?)[edit]

Try taking a look at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Standards, which lists most things they're looking for, but I'd wait a good few months yet: some users expect a rather long amount of time editing!

I've managed to get ill, so may not be around for a while.
