Le Musée français (Q111165565)[edit]

I don't know how to use this resource: Wikidata. How do I make it availble from the Wikipedia article on this subject? How do I load it with a table consisting of 504 lines of data in 8 columns? Thank you for your interest. George-Amherst (talk) 17:34, 27 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I do not understand the question. You have a table you would like to add to Wikipedia article? Then you can just add it as regular wiki syntax to the article directly. Wikidata is more useful if you want to describe the entity in machine readable format. You can use Wikidata then to display data on Wikipedia article as well, if this is what you would prefer. Is that what you are asking how to do? Mitar (talk) 13:11, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I noticed that it was you that set up the entry in Wikidata <https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q111165565>, and it occurred when I added a very long table to the article in Wikipedia on Le Musée français ... the table has subsequently been removed. It is a big table, 504 lines with 8 columns, not easily displayed on Wikipedia. Does Wikidata offer a means of presenting this data (alphanumeric with French language accents)? E.g. can the table be viewed in Wikidata? Clearly, I've no understanding of what Wikidata does and am very grateful for your attention ... George-Amherst (talk) 22:05, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I see pains you had to get this table onto Wikipedia article. I can empathize with that but cannot help you much there. Wikipedia currently has pretty strict limits on what can be added to articles.
You could put this data into Wikidata. Not even necessary as a table, but maybe even in a way that every row in a table be its own Wikidata entity with properties being columns for each row. But putting that data there would be nice, but not directly useful to anyone as most people would not find it. But it would be stored and available as free knowledge to everyone who would need this data in the future. Mitar (talk) 22:17, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Because the table consists of 504 rows, I'd want to be able to input it as simply as possible -- dropping it in one action would be far preferrable to dropping 504 individual records, but doing this is not impossible. Once in Wikidata, can the data be displayed as a table? Is it queried like a database? How is it accessed? 73.167.46.43 (talk) 17:09, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it could be displayed, but it would still be a lot of data to be displayed, so probably it is not reasonable to display it in the article. Mitar (talk) 17:39, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
