May 2014[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Rosanna Carter has been reverted.
Your edit here to Rosanna Carter was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links in references which are discouraged per our reliable sources guideline. The reference(s) you added or changed (http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&G=110770623) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The site you were adding contains information which is in violation of copyright. Please check if the information on the page is not in violation of copyright before considering to re-add the link.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 18:07, 26 May 2014 (UTC)

June 2014[edit]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to E. W. Scripps may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • br>[[United Press International]], (1908; later known as "UPI News Service")<br>"Science Service", (1921; later known as "[[Society for Science & the Public]]"

Repeated userboxes[edit]

Hi. What's with the repeated instances of {{Adopter|Vivo4}} on your user page and this talk page? It seems like another one gets added every time you edit. —[AlanM1(talk)]— 12:21, 29 June 2014 (UTC)

Vivo4 last edited in 2008. Mr. Yondris Ferguson first edited in May of this year. That user box, along with the "half dozen" edits one, was copied from my page. I rather suspect the "Service Awards" aren't accurate either. - SummerPhD (talk) 13:39, 29 June 2014 (UTC)

Dear AlanM1 and SummerPhD, Just to shed some light on this whole situation and to hopefully put this whole scandalous idiotic propaganda to rest, i just want want to say that all the userboxes that I got all, (with the exception of the service awards) came from pages that had links from the Wikipedia userboxes page. The service cane from the Wikipedia:Service awards page. And also, I checked each service awards and I qualify for each and every one of them. Thank you. Mr. Yondris Ferguson (Leave a Comment) 14:41, 29 June 2014

There is neither scandal nor propaganda here. The repeated boxes saying you've adopted User:Vivo4 are a puzzle, though. You have 14 of the boxes up and you certainly have not adopted them. - SummerPhD (talk) 20:23, 29 June 2014 (UTC)

@Mr. Yondris Ferguson: Wow. "Thank you" would have been a more appropriate response, since you removed the spurious adoption userboxes from your user page apparently based on my message. Note that you still have one on this page (your User Talk page).
As far as service awards, I believe they are designed so that you only use the highest level for which you are qualified, replacing the previous boxes/ribbons when you achieve a new level. At 1 month plus 5 days, and 371 edits, that indeed puts you at Novice Editor / Burba. —[AlanM1(talk)]— 11:18, 1 July 2014 (UTC)
