December 2013[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a message letting you know that one of your recent edits to McDonnell Douglas DC-10 has been undone by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

Speedy deletion nomination of Solar Cargo[edit]

Hello Msloewengart,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Solar Cargo for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Dianakc (talk) 18:39, 8 December 2013 (UTC)

Your recent edits[edit]

Hello, I appreciate your efforts to improve articles on cities by adding airport information. However, I ask that you please conform to the accepted manual of style on infoboxes and capitalization. E.g. "airports" should not be capitalized in "Major airports", as you did with this edit.

Similarly, the extra lines you are adding (such as this) to separate the airport field from the ones above it do not appear to be consistent with other infoboxes, and at least with Seattle it throws off the alignment of the text.

Thanks for your understanding! — MusikAnimal talk 02:01, 3 January 2014 (UTC)

@Msloewengart: Hello again, I see you are still adding extraneous formatting to the infoboxes. Please see the manual of style for more information. In general, we wouldn't hardcode these lines anyway, but rather use the syntax provided by the template itself. Again, kudos for your robotic editing, but please do refrain from adding these separators. Thanks — MusikAnimal talk 02:53, 3 January 2014 (UTC)

Notice of Edit warring noticeboard discussion[edit]

Information icon Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. Thank you.

Edit warring at Las Vegas[edit]

Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours for edit warring, as you did at Las Vegas. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.

The full report of this case is at WP:AN3#User:Msloewengart reported by User:Vegaswikian (Result: 48 hours). Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 19:34, 3 January 2014 (UTC)

Your input is requested[edit]

There is currently a discussion at WikiProject Cities about whether we should include airports in infoboxes. At the moment, consensus appears to be leaning against inclusion of airports. Please voice your input, and if you could, refrain from adding more airports until the discussion is closed. Thank you. — MusikAnimal talk 01:18, 6 January 2014 (UTC)

Msloewengart, please agree to stop adding airports until consensus is reached. If you continue (without waiting for the result of any discussion) you may be blocked for a longer period. EdJohnston (talk) 01:57, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
Again - please stop adding airports to info boxes, particularly since consensus seems to be against including that information. Thanks. JohnInDC (talk) 19:38, 12 January 2014 (UTC)
This is your final warning. Do not add anymore airports to infoboxes or you may be blocked from editing. I understand you are trying to improve Wikipedia, but you cannot go against community consensus. You have been given plenty of fair warning to cooperate your fellow editors. If you are so adamant about adding the airports you should participate in the discussion, especially since this all started because of you. — MusikAnimal talk 02:44, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
Hello Msloewengart. You have recently made two reverts at Topeka, Kansas to re-add the airport to the infobox, for instance here. You have never participated in the above discussion which seems to have formed a consensus against adding these airports. An administrator may choose to indefinitely block you from editing Wikipedia until such time as you are willing to accept consensus. If you have anything to say in your defence, please reply here. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 03:01, 13 January 2014 (UTC)

Ways to improve Aeronaves TSM[edit]

Hi, I'm BiH. Msloewengart, thanks for creating Aeronaves TSM!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Please find some time to reference your article. I have made some adjustments to it.

File permission problem with File:Solar Cargo DC-10.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Solar Cargo DC-10.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. JohnInDC (talk) 02:27, 13 January 2014 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:An Aeronaves TSM ((DC-9.jpeg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:An Aeronaves TSM ((DC-9.jpeg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. JohnInDC (talk) 02:27, 13 January 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Reliant Air[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Reliant Air requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. —Largo Plazo (talk) 03:53, 13 January 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Solar Cargo DC-10.jpg[edit]

A tag has been placed on File:Solar Cargo DC-10.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Blocked[edit]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 month for edit warring.

See your previous edit-warring block notice above (3 January 2014), and see the section called '#Your input is requested. Here on 14 January you have resumed your mass campaign of adding airports to city infoboxes, after multiple warnings. Any admin may lift this block if you agree to stop making mass changes until you get consensus. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 16:07, 14 January 2014 (UTC)

I've extended the block to indefinite, based on the user's assurance at User talk:AirportExpert that his Msloewengart account is being retired. He will edit as AirportExpert from now on. See WP:Sockpuppet investigations/Msloewengart. EdJohnston (talk) 15:35, 18 January 2014 (UTC)
