The Aquarium Fishes WikiProject Newsletter Issue V - April 2007
News Please welcome our new members: Toniher (talk · contribs), MiltonT (talk · contribs), Regani.de (talk · contribs), Codenametiger (talk · contribs) User:DSWebb has created "breedbox" which replaced the taxobox in all goldfish breed articles. See our discussion here. User:MiltonT has created the "Aquarium and Fishkeeping Hobby" box which has been placed in many articles in the category:fishkeeping. See discussion here. In the past two weeks, four different articles have achieved the good article status. They are Oscar, Pelvicachromis pulcher, Fish, Cichlid. User:MidgleyDJ deserves our praise for arduously contributing to most of these improvements. Kribensis has become a disambiguation page. The original contents were moved to Pelvicachromis pulcher. The Portal:Fish has added a new feature - the Fish Quiz. Feel free to come test your knowledge, interact with other fish editors, try to win the game and collect a special prize. The project now has an award program for outstanding and exceptional editors. Articles recently created:List of brackish aquarium fish species, Red-tail dwarf puffer, Chromis viridis, Chromis atripectoralis, Filter (aquarium) Articles recently expanded or revised: Cyprinid, Dwarf pufferfish, Fathead minnow, Rainbow darter, Green sunfish, Oscar, Cichlid, Convict cichlid, Pseudoplatystoma See or edit the current tasklist here	Discussions Our parent wikiproject, the WikiProject Fishes, is having an important discussion about the policy of "Titles of fish species articles". This policy covers the selection of scientific and common names as article titles. It will have a significant impact on a large number of fish articles. See or join the discussion here. Related to this discussion is the title change of the article Mayan cichlid to Cichlasoma urophthalmus. The duplication of Bolivian ram article

Hi Mummymonkey. I see you have contributed a great deal to this fish. But can I ask why you created another article for this fish instead of renaming/improving the current one? It's the exact same species and apparently you're aware of that, judging from the way you changed the redirect of "Bolivian ram" from Mikrogeophagus altispinosa to Mikrogeophagus altispinosus. So now we have both existing Mikrogeophagus altispinosa and Mikrogeophagus altispinosus as seperate articles. Now that there're 2 seperate articles, each with edit histories, the proper "move" cannot be done unless an admin intervened. Please hold editing anything to both article, I'll inform an admin to help with this. --Melanochromis 00:58, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

I have made the move. It was no big deal to fix this mistake, which is common. Help:Moving a page can explain more about the renaming/moving process. Renaming is preferred over duplication because it preserves the page history, which is required under the GNU Free Documentation License used by Wikipedia.
