Disambiguation link notification for November 8[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited M. Ghibran, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Tamil. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 16:58, 8 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop changing links so that they are redirects. We provide the subject's FULL name the first time is it used in an article, and thereafter 1) utilize the family name and 2) do not link the name again. So all of your edits regarding M. Ghibran are inappropriate. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 11:23, 29 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

July 2015[edit]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Mohamaad Ghibran. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been reverted or removed.

  • If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor then please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
  • If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive, until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you.

The information comes from Times of India. Talk to them if there is a problem. Get it retracted, then come back here. Do not remove sourced content. Ping me with {{u|Jim1138}} and sign "~~~~" or message me on my talk page. 08:16, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information iconHi Jim,

Thanks for your concern in taking care of the Wiki Pages but Ghibran is his stage name and Please see his Production credits, before making any changes. We wacked out media, represent Ghibran and Kindly request you to not do any unnecessary changes without authentication.

The article name is Mohamad Ghibran. To avoid wp:redirects which Ghibran causes, please wp:pipe the link: [[Mohamad Ghibran|Ghibran]] This will show up as Ghibran and link directly to the page. Please use this. Thank you Ping me with {{u|Jim1138}} and sign "~~~~" or message me on my talk page. 09:23, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the Info. Will do so!!!

Dear Jim,

Mr.Ghibran wants the Page name to be changed to "Ghibran" instead of "Mohamaad Ghibran" like Akon/Skrillex(Stage name different from Birth Name) and many other artists. Can you help us do it. In that case should i gat any authentication letter or proof from Ghibran to do this officially ?

Thanks in Advance

Suggestions:
  • Sign your posts (on talk pages only) with four tildes ~~~~ this leaves your user name and time stamp.
  • If you want a particular user's attention add a wp:ping for me use {{u|Jim1138}} Be sure to sign with four tildes ~~~~ otherwise it does not work.
See wp:Moving a page On how to request a page move. You would be able to do it, except there is a wp:redirect at Ghibran which will need to be deleted by an administrator. Do not just copy the content to another page. The page needs to be moved to preserve the wp:page history. The process is described at wp:moving a page. Cheers Ping me with {{u|Jim1138}} and sign "~~~~" or message me on my talk page. 09:46, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
BTW: You will need to demonstrate that is the wp:common name. Simply that he wants the name that way is not sufficient. Cheers Ping me with {{u|Jim1138}} and sign "~~~~" or message me on my talk page. 09:57, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest[edit]

Your edit summary and comment suggests that you have a conflict of interest.
Information icon Hello, Musicstudent.philip. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you have an external relationship with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies. Note that Wikipedia's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Ping me with {{u|Jim1138}} and sign "~~~~" or message me on my talk page. 09:19, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Oversight[edit]

Your comment with this edit suggests there is a problem with the information on Mohamaad_Ghibran. If so, you can request Wikipedia:Oversight. Ping me with {{u|Jim1138}} and sign "~~~~" or message me on my talk page. 09:19, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Mohamaad Ghibran[edit]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Mohamaad Ghibran. Ping me with {{u|Jim1138}} and sign "~~~~" or message me on my talk page. 09:24, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

More on your conflict of interest[edit]

Remember, articles on Mohamaad Ghibran are not wp:owned (please read) by Mohamaad Ghibran. What he wants is not what goes on the article. Articles need to be maintained per policy and that is what should be used to decide on content. You probably should use an wp:request edit to suggest a change. Obviously, outright wp:slander should and can be removed immediately. This does not appear to be slander or libelous, so removal would be highly questionable and should be discussed on the talk page before removing. People editing should be wp:here to build an encyclopedia and should be wp:improving Wikipedia per wp:policy, not to facilitate someone else's agenda. If someone does edit in such a manner, they would be wp:nothere and should not be editing. Please do help us write an encyclopedia! Cheers Ping me with {{u|Jim1138}} and sign "~~~~" or message me on my talk page. 17:18, 30 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
