new article[edit]

You'll probably find everything you need here Help:Starting a new page. Also, just FYI, you placed your question on my Userpage, which is not the correct space. You wanted my personal talk page (i.e. User talk:VanTucky). One guideline you might want to keep in mind if you want to create the article you mentioned is that Wikipedia is not a dictionary, so a simple definition of the term isn't enough to merit a separate article. You should definitely try adding information about the term's origins and history in addition to its contemporary usage. Most of all, in order to see the article isn't deleted, make sure you provide information affirming the importance of the subject and citations from reliable third-party sources. Good luck! your question[edit]

What you're talking about is protection. The kind used for simple vandalism is called semi-protection, which means only established editors can edit. The "full" protection, meaning no one can edit, is used for edit wars. You can make a request at WP:RPP. VanTucky (talk) 15:15, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Talk procedure[edit]

Please remember to both sign all your talk posts with four tildes (like this:~~~~) or use the signature button. Also, new posts always go at the bottom of a talk page. I have responded to your query on my talk. Happy editing, VanTucky Talk 23:13, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

re:Queen of Wands[edit]

If it's clearly a copyright violation - content lifted directly from a non-GFDL website - then you need to follow the steps at Wikipedia:Copyright problems. VanTucky Talk 05:51, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

January 2008[edit]

Hi, the recent edit you made to Shetland Sheepdog has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thanks. Images[edit]

There's no exact number limit, but they need to be used according to WP:MOS#Images and not obscure readability of the text. I'll take a look at the article. VanTucky 23:17, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Couple things:

  1. Always start new talk posts at the bottom of a page. Always.
  2. The Sheltie article needs to have the external links pruned.
  3. Try to state the obvious more in the article.
  4. Use more in-line citations. At least one per section, especially for things outlined at the GA criteria.
  5. Don't include external links anywhere but the External links section.
  6. Don't ever include content such as "read this article for more information" in the content of the article. Either use an external link in the appropriate section, use a double brackets link in the text, or an appropriate {{see also}} or {{mainarticle}} link placed under section headings.
  7. Paragraphs should be at least three sentences for readability. Breaking up the article in to a lot of section headings with tiny little sentences makes it hard to read.
  8. Expand the introductory section. It needs to be a concise overview of the whole article.

Good luck, VanTucky 23:36, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Black Jewels[edit]

Use the move tab at the top of the page. VanTucky 22:20, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Queen of Wands[edit]

Aeire states at the top of the cast page that some of that information came from Wikipedia in the first place, so I reverted your removal.--SarekOfVulcan (talk) 16:12, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bel Bel colouring[edit]

Bel Bel is a cream, not palomino. Please research the actual book carefully. And also, there is no need to yell. I can hear you fine. Cheers, Thowra. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thowra (talkcontribs) 07:44, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
