Hi NawlinWiki

Could you do me a favor and let me know who was the latest editor to recreate the just-deleted version of the above-captioned article?

hi. The article you deleted is a notable company located in westchester county new york. It is the largest producer of autographed sports memorabilia and is a substantial sports marketing company as well. There is a similar company listed under the category:Companies based in Westchester County, New York, which is ANC Sports. I am going to recreate the article in the hopes that you will allow for adequate time to expand the article, make editing corrections, and the like. John Patrick Acquaviva[edit]

Hi, the article you just deleted is about a notable football freestyler, one of the younguest proffessional freestylers in the world, he has worked with Red Bull and many other venezuelan and colombian brands. check his website and see for yourself, and i would appreatiate a reply on why you deleted the article.

If he is notable according to reliable sources (not merely his own website), and you can write an article (in English) about him that complies with Wikipedia policies, then go ahead and write that article. -- Hoary (talk) 15:16, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

what are reliable sources? there are a load of pictures of him being interviewd by many TV stations wich are very notable in colombia and south america, such as CARACOL NOTICIAS, but the newspaper links are in spanish because the newspapers are from venezuela and colombia. Can you help me make a page about him? —Preceding unsigned comment added by JessicaC180 (talkcontribs) 15:25, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There's nothing wrong with using sources that are in Spanish. Just make sure that they are independent and reliable sources, and that you have identified them clearly. No, I'm not going to help you write the article, because I know nothing about the boy or the subject, can't read Spanish, and am about to go to bed. But maybe somebody else will help. -- Hoary (talk) 15:30, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You wrote above that the newspaper links are in spanish because the newspapers are from venezuela and colombia. If you can write an article about him from material in Venezuelan and Colombian newspapers, I'd guess that the result would be OK. I don't know for sure as I know nothing about this subject. This article history page suggests that a good person to ask would be User:Mamaberry11; you can ask him/her here. -- Hoary (talk) 23:39, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You deleted the Riverfront Church article before i could even post the db-g11 tag on it. Good job. By the way, I am looking to get rollback privelages, as I have been spending a lot of time reverting full page blankings by a series of IP adresses. I dont think its fair to delete an article that hasnt even been finished yet, I was in the middle of making corrections to make it more neutral. Please do not delete this article.

Like I said I was making changes and have not had time to cite sources yet.

May I recreate the article with prewriten information that is more neutral? I mean this is govenment organization. We should be allowed to have a Wikipedia article.

Prokarma article deletion[edit]

Hi Nawlin,

I am new to the Wikipedia universe. I did read the guidelines on posting information of a company (staying objective and not use it as advertising or promotion vehicle). I am curious if the ProKarma page was deleted due to the tone it was written. All aspects of the article were factual (inc.500 ranking). It did have a story-telling tone and I am wondering if this caused it's deletion.

I would like at to resubmit an article about the company, and would appreciate any guidance you have. I researched other approved articles from similar companies (accenture), to pattern the article from. But I found it difficult to compare a private company with a publicly traded company.

Again any help on creating an approved article would be much appreciated. Bontrac (talk) 14:23, 8 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

My entry on AMAC is not spam and not advertising[edit]

You admins are just not taking the time to figure out what the entry is about before hitting delete. You hit delete before I had a chance to even read and understand why my article was being flagged, let alone rewrite it or discuss it. You should have a way to moderate without deleting someone's work immediately after they hit save. That is just obnoxious. Nice way to make an impression on a new contributer.

Nihiltres, the original fast draw on the delete key, agreed that my article didn't meet the criteria it was flagged for, then apparently went in search of another reason instead of undeleting it or apologizing. It seems to me you can find a reason to delete just about anything in the criteria if you try. It's that ambiguous. Don't just assume I didn't read and don't understand. There is some chance it is you that did not read and does not understand.

So let me explain to you what I am trying to do.

I am trying to document that there is a group trying to compete with AARP calling itself more "conservative", because oh yeah, everyone knows AARP is a bunch of liberal commies. I want to show that it is being funded by the insurance industry, which I believe is the reason it is anti-healthcare reform, but I can't prove that without a lot of research that is not my job, I can't just come out and say it. What I CAN say that Medicare advantage is a sponsor of AMAC and Medicare advantage is the privatized part of medicare, which is significant, but I had to do it in a way that relied on facts and did not show my bias, so it is subtle. Because it is subtle, if you quickly scan it and hit delete, you will miss ALL of that. You will completely miss the point. Which is what you all did. The rest of the content is mostly just some additional information to fill out the picture of the group. I could care less who founded it or where it's headquartered, but it seemed like something that someone might want to know. It needed some WORDS. There is NOTHING in there that was promoting this organization in any way, and it did have a point. You just didn't get it.

The last thing I am trying to do is advertise for this group. I want to document it's existence and expose it for what it is - a front for the insurance industry. Since the reason it was flagged is not valid, please tell my what I should change to make it comply. Work WITH me instead of looking for a reason to delete. It would probably take less or your time AND mine. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Allisoj1 (talkcontribs) 01:45, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I understand you.. kind of[edit]

This organization I'm writing about may not be important enough to deserve an entry. That makes some sense. It's also extremely subjective. I will see what I can find out, but it's not worth that much to me. I'm just a civilian, annoyed by the devious ways corporations push their agenda. Medicare Advantage thinks AMAC is worth sponsoring, and that is HUGE. That right there is notable. Medicare Advantage is the insurance industry and big Pharma. That's the point. The fact that this group probably IS the corporate interest group basically or a PR or lobbyist firm hired by them to create a front group is why I think it is notable. However, it also means the group is probably not a real organization exactly, so no, AMAC in and of itself, by it's achievements or the fame or reputation of it's leaders, is probably nothing. It's fake. It's just out there trying to sign people up to a mailing list and scare them into acting and voting against their own best interests. That's the point. The fact that they are not really notable, but are trying to pretend to be notable, is what makes them notable. LOL That's why I thought it should be documented, but I'm not an investigative journalist, and I will only go so far... Maybe I should just quit. Maybe I'll give it to Greg Palast to look into. Then I can cite his article.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greg_Palast

You might just try to be a little more empathetic. I never posted to wiki and all the sudden I get this warning immediately after saving and before I can even react, my entry is gone, poof. There was no way I could have had time to add the hold on tag, let alone explain why I disagreed, and you would have ignored it anyway. A normal person would have just given up. Lucky for you I'm not normal. Something is really wrong with the process IMHO. If you get a lot of PO'd people on here, this is probably why. Allisoj1 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 02:40, 9 September 2009 (UTC).[reply]

Camp Envy article stub deleted before we could update[edit]

The Camp Envy page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camp_Envy was created as an article stub, and was deleted (repeatedly) before our writer could submit an initial version of the page. We believe that Camp Envy was a historically significant event that deserves an article on Wikipedia.

An important element of the annual Burningman culture and arts festival is theme camps. In fact, many of these are documented on Wikipedia, for example Shangri-La (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shangri_La_Village), Palenque Norte (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palenque_Norte), and the Guns and Dope Party (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guns_and_Dope_Party). Burningman theme camps are generally complex affairs, and often include both strong communities and elaborate art projects.

Camp Envy, which occurred this year, was the first entirely online theme camp in Burningman history. Such a historically significant event is at least as deserving of its own page as Palenque Norte. Please unlock this topic for re-creation, so we can appropriately document its history. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TProphet (talkcontribs) 05:38, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • The article cited only to Facebook pages, and essentially said "This is a Facebook group with 350 members". It wasn't actually a theme camp -- it was an online group. We routinely delete articles on web content unless they show, by reliable independent sources, that the web content meets the notability standards of WP:WEB. Spencer Day article deleted[edit]

Spencer Day was on the Late Late Show last night (9/9/09); his third album, Vagabond, was just released. See http://spencerday.com/, http://www.amazon.com/Vagabond-Spencer-Day/dp/B002F24SEK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1252557779&sr=8-1. Seems wrong that Wikipedia would not have this article. Yes, there are "millions and millions" of musicians, but far fewer that perform on network television. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Adallas (talkcontribs) 04:44, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • I deleted this article in July of 2008; its only content then was "Spencer Day (born June 26, 1978) is an American singer-songwriter. (His bio is being updated.)" Obviously, he had not yet appeared on network TV. Feel free to write an article on Mr. Day. NawlinWiki (talk) 11:40, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

SoftInWay article deletion[edit]

Hi Nawlin,

The article you deleted is about a notable company, one of the largest provider of engineering software and training in Massachusetts which also contributes to the development of turbomachinery design worldwide by participating in international events for engineers and publishing its papers in the related periodicals (e.g. http://www.turbomachinerymag.com/sub/2009/March-.pdf#page=27). It also helps develop new technologies to such companies as Wood Group, MAN Turbo and Avio which have their own pages throughout Wiki. If you don't mind, I'm going to recreate this article and expand it - first in my sandbox and then move it to the public space.

Hello,

Today, you deleted IRPS - The Board Game under A1. While I agree the article needed to go, I don't agree with your stretching the definition of "no context" to make it happen. The subject was easily identifiable so A1 didn't apply. It also didn't fit under A7 do to the nature of the subject, which is why I had tagged it for PROD deletion. I submit that there is no harm in allowing "junk" like this to stick around for 7 days, but there is harm in stretching the rules to delete things for which they don't apply.

Thank you for your consideration, ThaddeusB (talk) 23:36, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RoomSaver Removal: Why? Can it be undeleted?[edit]

I apologize for this page appearing like an advertisement. I assume that is because I was creating redirecting links to searchable keywords like the companies website and it's previous trademarked name. I don't think that I was redirecting correctly and that is why it appeared to be spam. Can you please explain to me how to add keyword names to the wiki page so that when searched, the RoomSaver will be found? I didn't want people to be confused when searching for the page, so I was trying to make it simpler. The content on the page was not advertising and if you read the page, you would see that. It is a significant company for many reasons listed within the page. Is it possible to be undeleted? I have been researching online to find significant articles to avoid the speedy deletion as suggested by another administrator. If I did it wrong, please let me know prior to a speedy deletion. There is a lot of information that I may have just lost that I was proud of writing. It is only my first wikipage and I wanted to make it perfect. I am learning here.

Thank you for the speedy response. I did not mean to make it seem like advertising. I added the page to "road trip" because I have used the coupon guide for road trips and am a big fan. I was shocked when I saw that it was not on wikipedia so I made a page. I thought it would be useful for people who go on road trips. Like I said, this is only my first page. Can you at least allow me to edit the page privately to eliminate everything that appears as advertising until it is ready to be published? I am just trying to find information and as I do, I add to the page. Some of it is direct quotes, in quotations, and I guess that is what appears as promotion. The section where I said it had helped millions, is because it has, and because it was one of the sentences I initially added in order to make it a significant company in order to avoid speedy deletion as suggested by the other admin. I am not trying to advertise, just inform.

Thank you for allowing me to edit the page. Can you please inform me how to make search words redirect to the page so that I do not make the same ("spamming") mistake again? Also, how do I publish this page when it is ready or is it the same as I did before? Sorry for the inconvenience.

I have just edited out any advertising sounding statements and added many independent sources and additional information to the page. I would like to make it public now if it is possible. Please let me know if there are any issues. Thanks.—Preceding unsigned comment added by BDHuneycutt (talkcontribs) 13:54, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Right - as the log indicates, I only protected it against page moves, not editing. NawlinWiki (talk) 11:40, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article deletion[edit]

wow, you really managed to delete my article fast... Could you please allow us some time to let us take this thing off the ground?

Arcadia666 (talk) 01:21, 21 September 2009 (UTC)Arcadia666[reply]

  • In none of your postings have you asserted that this 3-month-old band -- whose only song is apparently only available on Facebook -- meets the notability standards of WP:BAND. If you can't do that, please don't repost the article. NawlinWiki (talk) 01:24, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • I havent been able to assert anything, thanks to the fact that the article keeps on getting deleted

Arcadia666 (talk) 01:25, 21 September 2009 (UTC)Arcadia666[reply]

    • The idea is that you don't post until you *can* assert that the band meets WP:BAND. NawlinWiki (talk) 01:26, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
      • But how can I assert ANYTHING unless the article itself is up there? for all you know, i was going to do so, before you deleted the article. Arcadia666 (talk) 01:28, 21 September 2009 (UTC)Arcadia666[reply]
        • But you didn't. See speedy delete category a7 -- articles about bands which do not assert their subject's notability may be deleted at any time. NawlinWiki (talk) 01:31, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sorry, but Wikipedia does not document "rising" bands. Even one cited assertion of notability as specified on WP:BAND is enough to keep the article from being speedy deleted. Evil saltine (talk) 02:48, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

hey Nawlin... I'm out of fish to bop you with mate... but how many kids you got? Erich (talk) 11:49, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

ps can you please put that page back? I'd stuck a hangon tag on it but you must have missed it... please? see talk:starfall.com. I am contesting the notability issue, although I accept that I didn't spell out the notability grounds in the stub

Solver (band) deletion[edit]

What appliable parts of WP:BAND do you think are not adressed in the references added to the article? Diego (talk) 13:04, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • My prod notice was before you added the additional references, most notably the Sydney Morning Herald article. That satisfies my concerns for now. NawlinWiki (talk) 14:28, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nukeateen (band) deletion[edit]

What appliable parts of A7 do you think are relevent to the deletion, there are relative references? Considering I'd added a hangon and disputed I think this was deleted a little too rapidly, surely the significance is a historical significance, as Nukeateen are a significant band to wellingborough. Could you please clarify?

  • None of the references are independent sources -- they are merely music aggregator sites that anyone can add themselves to. I saw no assertion that the band met any of the criteria of WP:MUSIC. It's not enough that you say they're significant. NawlinWiki (talk) 15:48, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Modjo (Energy)[edit]

Hi Nawlin, I am familiar with the Wiki guidlines and my article got deleted immediately. I also researched many articles on Wikipedia with similar products that haven't been deleted. Could you please give me some more detailed info which parts of the article are promotional? I spend a lot of time writing this article and would like to repost it, and I am not sure which part is not according to the guidlines. Thanks

Speedy deletion of Care Pest & Wildlife Control[edit]

Please allow me a chance to finish the article. Care Pest is gaining widespread media attention in our province (B.C.) as the first extermination company to use bed bug sniffing dogs. People are asking who we are and our brand has now become a franchise available in North America. We are also the first pest control company in our province to be certified in humane pest control by the S.P.C.A.Carepest (talk) 18:23, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Joshua Gracia (speedy delete)[edit]

Hey there, just letting you know that User:The.iceman7 (talk) just recently created the new article Joshua Gracia (you deleted Joshua gracia yesterday). I tagged it with speedy delete (a7). -M.Nelson (talk) 18:35, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nukeateen (band) deletion[edit]

I've restored the original post before I'd altered it, this had been on wiki for a year and had been previously approved so should be okay, but just in case I've added a cite to BBC/NME which should be okay, if not then I can't do much more as all other references are in print only (this band was around in 1995 and just reformed). Can I just check, is the bands official website not considered a reliable resource for reference? Thanks for you response, Jon.

  • The band's own site is not independent, and therefore doesn't meet WP:V. As for the other sources, the BBC site basically says they had one song played on BBC once. That may avoid *speedy* deletion, but I still don't think it meets WP:MUSIC. For NME, is that a site where the bands add their own videos, or does NME select them? NawlinWiki (talk) 11:58, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think they select them, as there are only some videos on there and I can't see a way to add them. These are the only references I could find online, appreciate the rules and why they are there so if the decision is made to remove thats fine. Although strange it was online for so long before it was flagged for removal when I updated yesterday. Or is this part of a general clean up and that it can take more than a year sometimes? Modjo (energy) deletion[edit]

Nawlin, my article got deleted 3 times now. I made the changes you told me and it got deleted by another administrator. He told me to not include the ingredietns. I added all statements with references from outside sources, some articles about products on Wikipedia do not have any source and are not deleted. I would really appreciate if you could tell me know what I should do... Thanks

  • It's just a product. There's no indication that it's notable, see WP:N. The sources merely confirm the ingredients in the product. There are no sources that would show why this product is well-known enough to be in an encyclopedia. NawlinWiki (talk) 18:14, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of PROD from IChill Relaxation Shot[edit]

Hello NawlinWiki, this is an automated message from SDPatrolBot to inform you the PROD template you added to IChill Relaxation Shot has been removed. It was removed by Njmaki with the following edit summary '(no edit summary)'. Please consider discussing your concerns with Njmaki before pursuing deletion further yourself. If you still think the article should be deleted after communicating with the 'dePRODer,' you may want to send the article to AfD for community discussion. Thank you, SDPatrolBot (talk) 20:46, 24 September 2009 (UTC) (Learn how to opt out of these messages)[reply]

Vandalism[edit]

Is there anything that can be done about the two users: Fluffy Bunny loves NLR and PODS Watch, who continue to vandalize my talk page and the pages that I edit?

Keep an eye on this guy, please[edit]

User:DarkSummoner made some decidedly blatant POV edits on Glenn Beck (TV program), then left some not-so-nice comments on my talk page afterward. I hit him with an immediate only warning, as he looks like he may be a troublemaker. My time on WP will be hit-or-miss over the next three days, so keep an eye on this guy, please. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 08:17, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Talk Page Deletion[edit]

Hello,
We have shared a couple of messages in the past week but I am finding it increasingly difficult to believe that you are a human being with whom it is able to carry out any form of effective communication. You have deleted my page about C-Tech Innovation and though I have tried to explain the importance of my article to the whole Wikipedia Community through my talk page [1], you have remained steadfast in acting in the most bolshy manner. Many of my colleagues would describe you as 'a sad person who obtains a power trip from deleting articles off the wikisphere'. I am determined to prove them wrong and that is why I believe you will reply this comment with some form of human justification for your recent actions.

Deleted EphBlog page[edit]

You deleted the EphBlog page that I had created without first discussing the issue, even after I provided three separate reliable sources that reported on EphBlog. If the reason for the deletion was that I had not demonstrated the importance of the site, could you please undelete (?) the page so that I might add that information. Given that I provided three different references, I thought that I might have at least 48 hours before the page was deleted. David.Kane (talk) 01:34, 27 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

IP Vandalism[edit]

This is getting ridiculous...thoughts? Maybe a short semiprotection of some userpages will make him bored? --kelapstick (talk) 17:56, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • That's what this user wants. Using the edit filter instead. NawlinWiki (talk) 17:57, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • Clearly, this is the same person constantly changing his IP, a 190.25.96/ and 190.25.99/ range block might make sense.--Giants27(c|s) 17:59, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
      • Looking into that, although he used a 190.27 as well. NawlinWiki (talk) 18:00, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
        • I think we've got it stopped with the edit filter. A rangeblock of 190.25 through 190.27 would be too broad. NawlinWiki (talk) 18:04, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
          • Excellent, nice work. Thanks! --kelapstick (talk) 18:06, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
            • I just had 4 hits on my userpage, so it's still occuring.--Giants27(c|s) 18:11, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Got the latest. Keep me advised. Too big a range to rangeblock. NawlinWiki (talk) 18:19, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Quick question about G12[edit]

If content on a new article is copied straight out of a social networking site like Myspace or Facebook, would it apply under this criteria? I see you were the one who deleted the last article I tagged for WP:CSD, so I thought you might be a good person to ask. XenocideTalk|Contributions 19:22, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why?[edit]

Why did you delete my article Tomato Turtle: A Trip to the Park...please dont just say it was against the rules please personally tell me why on my page.

Opinion please[edit]

I originally tried to contact GTBacchus's with this, but he has not responded and seems to be fairly inactive right now. I left him this (with a couple of clarifications here):

I just wanted to get your opinion on an editor's behavior at Talk:Kitchen Nightmares (here and here). I, and several others, feel that User:Roman888 is being tendentious, disruptive, and purposely obtuse. At the beginning, he canvassed for votes (and still complains about not using votes to decide and feels that one person disagreeing voids consensus). For weeks, he's been complaining that there was no consensus made about the issue, made a bunch of baseless accusations about the editors there, refused to move into dispute resolution unless it was on his terms (we moved forward anyway with an RFC), and continually twists and distorts policies/guidelines around to suit his argument.

After I left the original message to GTB, Roman seemed to back down and hadn't left a message in over a week. However, he has left another today and he's escalated to outright hounding another user. I just wanted to get an admin's opinion on where to go from here. Please also let me know if our perceptions are wrong here. Thanks. --132 16:41, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I should have included a bit more here. Roman is, by no means, a bad editor. You can see his contributions elsewhere and they are good. He seems to be focusing this disruptive behavior purely on this article, no others. I think this just furthers the frustration for us though because we know he's not like this elsewhere. Thanks again for any opinion you can provide. --132 17:07, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You were involved with this page at one point, concerning the movie of the same title. In reading the page for the first time, it seems to me that it is little more than an amateur movie review, and very much point of view at that, and hence really is inappropriate as a Wikipedia page. Who would ultimately act on or arbitrate such a sentiment?

Many thanks in advance for any help, advice or forwarding here.

Dreadarthur (talk) 18:15, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I ended up deleting most of the page. From what I could read, this was little other than someone's little parody of Jacqueline Susann's writing style, as opposed to an appropriate Wikipedia page in tone or referencing. I hope this isn't considered too presumptuous on my part, since I have no oversight role.

First of all Its not a self published book, and second im not related to the author. Also its not about the author its about the book (otherwise i would have titled the page "Thomas Strock" do those answers make a difference in the deletion of the page? Thanks and please respond on my talk page
