Hello Mr. Seagoon. I don't wish to be pedantic, but isn't it a little forward to write the broadcast dates in advance? It seems to me to be tempting fate somewhat. Doozy88 23:31, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I think I added an entry on the wrong page :-). I'm sure I'll get the hang of it soon. Cheers. Doozy88 20:11, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I see, you write (or translate) an article about the museum. I'am actually in Berlin until 22. July. If you want a special Picture, tell me and I try to shot it. I will be visit both museums the next week. And if you have any questions - ask and I try to help if I can. Marcus Cyron 14:26, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, I've finished the translation of de:Antikensammlung Berlin now so if you could make any improvements or add any images, that'ld be good - thanks! Neddyseagoon - talk 08:52, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I added a to do list to the article. Acouple of those points completed and you should have a reaaly good article that has no problem passing B status.:-) -Duribald 19:02, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A couple? Done and dusted! Neddyseagoon - talk 21:33, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - I've added a db-bio tag to this article as it doesn't appear to show or claim any notability for the subject. Is there something I'm missing here? ELIMINATORJR TALK 14:15, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is a translation of the equivalent nl:Dirck Tulp page. It is considered notable there - why not here? He is notable as the son of the famous doctor, for being the last of the Tulp line, and for the marriage link to Nicolaes Witsen. Neddyseagoon - talk 14:21, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! You asked if I could translate some material from Danish for this article and I would like to help you, but please could you tell me what exactly you'd like translated? Thanks! --Guypuz 15:54, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I've done it myself now, thanks for the offer! Could you just check my translation's ok, though - it was via a mechanical translator, of the Family history page in the links section. Many thanks! Neddyseagoon - talk 15:57, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It all looks fine to me, well done! --Guypuz 13:09, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:Guido.JPG[edit]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Guido.JPG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 16:55, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dutch poets[edit]

Dear User:Neddyseagoon,

My compliments on your articles on Dutch poets. Should they feature on your watch list, you may notice that I have made a few additions and alterations to some of them. Please do not conclude from this that I have any desire to stalk your work. It is merely that I myself was partly responsible for some of these articles in their Dutch versions, and therefore (rightly or wrongly) feel in a position to set right a few slight misunderstandings which might have arisen.

Sincerely, Bessel Dekker 21:27, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not at all, thank you for having a look at them! - I've been looking for someone to proof-read my slightly wonky Dutch-to-English translation skills ! Could you have a look at some of the new ones in Dutch artists and architects too? Eg the Vingboons, the Schouwberg van Campen and Stadsschouwberg Amsterdam, some of the links out from Jacob van Campen, Salomon de Bray, etc? Basically see under Category:Dutch painter stubs.Neddyseagoon - talk 09:09, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mary Untier of Knots[edit]

Hi! Could you put the article Mary Untier of Knots into your watchlist! Sometimes there is spam in it!? Thanks out of Germany :-) --Janiwan 15:19, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Translations from the Dutch Wikipedia[edit]

Hello Neddyseagoon, could you take a look at these lemma's? You might like some of them and start with a translation. I will check in return. nl:Coenraad van Beuningen, nl:Pieter van Woensel (arts), nl:Geertje Dircx, nl:Levinus Vincent, nl:Nicolaes Eliasz. Pickenoy, nl:Adriaan van der Hoop. Taksen 09:55, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds like an ideal arrangement! Certainly, I'll get on with those, and keep a note of my progress here. Neddyseagoon - talk 11:11, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
All done, could you check them, plus Hendrickje Stoffels and Titus van Rijn. As for Pieter van Woensel (politician) he seemed notable enough - he is notable on the nl: version, and worthwhile to do an article as part of a disambiguating process. Neddyseagoon - talk 17:36, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You are working very fast, Neddy, it would take me more than a week to produce what you did today. Your translations and interpretations are funny, or I have to puzzle, and look up a word in the dictionnary. It is either unusual and unfamiliar English or you got lost in the meaning of the sentence. But I am impressed with your speed and skills.

Probably both!  :-) I have tried to get an idomatic English translation, which may have confused things a bit. If you could do a literal translation, then I could work it back into an idiomatic English style, that might be safer.Neddyseagoon - talk 21:46, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I will try to make clear what I have written in the Dutch lemma. Please improve my English when necessary. Within a week the content will be the same. Because I will leave the country for two days, some lemmas have to wait. Taksen 19:18, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Neddy, you are ambitious, starting all these new lemma's. I cannot keep up. Did you ever meet anyone who can? But I am happy we made a deal. It would be interesting to supply information to the lemma from a foreign point of view. Please dont translate exactly what a Dutchman wrote, but supply it with your own information. I hope history will become less nationalistic than it sometimes is. I hope you will check your library or book case and find more information on the topics, references and google for links. It is too easy to just copy the Dutch links and references. At least one reference and/or link should be in English. If only a Dutch reader can check your or mine assertions, it will become questionable and the lemma taken less serious. Taksen 20:08, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
