Speedy deletion of AIDA Cruises[edit]

A tag has been placed on AIDA Cruises requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Referencing[edit]

Hello. I have been reviewing some of your contributions to various cruise ship articles. While your contributions are generally of a good quality, there are notable problems with your usage of references. While using references is commendable, the way you have used Template:cite web in articles such as AIDA Cruises and MS Azura has been misleading and and otherwise problematic. Therefore please, when using cite web copy the template code from Template:cite web, not from other articles that use the template. Fill out as much of the template code as possible based on the information available in the website you are using as a source. Therefore for instance the name of the reference to Fincantieri's website on MS Azura should be the same as on the site itself, aka "Cruise Ships > 6166", not "M/S Azura (2010)". In addition to simply tha page name and access date you should also include other details in the cite web code so that people can easily ascertain the reliability of the reference without nescessarily visiting the website itself. Staying with the reference to Fincantieri's website and Azura, this means including Fincantieri in the "publisher" field of the cite template. Finally in the Azura article you had used the same ref name (FoF) for two references, which resulted in the second not displaying. I am also a bit mystified why you used FoF as the ref name to start with, as none of the references were to the Fakta om Fartyg website (that FoF is used as an abbreviation of); ref name should be made as clear and intuitive as possible so that any subsequent editors of a given article can easily use them. In this case the most intuitive name is obviously "Fincantieri".

As said, apart from the problems with the citation templates your work in improving articles on cruise ships has been commendable. Despite the lenghty criticism above, do not take this as a criticism of your contributions as a whole. — Kjet (talk · contribs) 14:26, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
