I reverted you. Aperture diameter A in terms of focal length f is A = f/N, or f-number N. Where's the error? Dicklyon (talk) 02:50, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

It is just that if N = f/A, and we are defining N as expressing something in terms of another, then N expresses f in terms of A rather than the opposite, e.g. a 5.6 f-number means that the focal length is 5.6 times the aperture diameter. Nfr-Maat (talk) 04:03, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
