Question About Using Four Tildas[edit]

Okheric, I have a small question I'm just wondering: Why do you put "~~~~" in the Edit summary of of the edits you make? Thanks. ─ Matthewi (Talk) • 22:21, 15 April 2013 (UTC)

Oklahoma legislators template[edit]

We don't maintain separate templates for each individual session of the legislature; there's only a single "current members" template that gets updated each time there's an election. So it's the correct template, it just may need to be updated if anything in it is out of date. I've changed the title to point to the 54th Legislature instead of the 53rd per your comment, but since I'm not in Oklahoma I don't know if all the members' names are correctly up to date or not — I think all or most of them are up to date, because another editor did that within days of the election last November, but I can't be 100% sure that they're all correct. So you might need to review the template to ensure that all of the names are correctly updated, but we really do only have the one template and just change its content each time there's an election. Fred Haise update[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Doniago. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Fred Haise, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. -- Doniago (talk) 15:00, 8 May 2013 (UTC)

Hello, Okheric, and welcome. I've taken care of this by adding a citation to and restoring some material Doniago had removed, and then reverted his revert of your addition. JustinTime55 (talk) 18:26, 8 May 2013 (UTC)

Hey Ive noticed you adding links to the see also section on a number of pages just thought I should give you a heads up and let you know that you shouldn't add links that are already linked else where in the page. Speedy deletion nomination of Template Infobox Oklahoma Legislature[edit]

Hello Okheric,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Template Infobox Oklahoma Legislature for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. Take a look at our suggestions for essential content in short articles to learn what should be included.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Ghostboy1997 (talk) 02:04, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

Replay from Ghostboy1997[edit]

Thank you for saying sorry. Just don't create an article page about that again. Plus, i can't delete pages, i am not the admin. I am a user like you. I can only put a deletion tag on it. Hey if you want, go here for my suggestions. Go to my suggestions. Thank you. Ghostboy1997 (talk) 02:11, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

A correction is needed[edit]

13th Oklahoma Legislature is about the 10th one. And just a suggestion - it may be appropriate to add other categories to the articles in the series. Thanks, Anand (talk page) 20:15, 21 June 2013 (UTC) 36th Oklahoma Legislature and 37th Oklahoma Legislature need the citation "A Century to Remember", if I am correct. Thanks, Anand (talk page) 20:21, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

and maybe 41st Oklahoma Legislature too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anand QED (talkcontribs) 20:24, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
No citations in the 43rd to 45th. I just realized that you are still working on them :) Thanks, Anand (talk page) 20:28, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

I've addressed these issues. Thanks for the input. Okheric (talk) 04:37, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

Assessments[edit]

Hey Okheric I noticed that in a few of your assessments that you have placed "no" in the task force parameters, just leave them blank because for some reason even if you put no it still shows up in the task force. Ive been trying to fix this problem for months but have yet been able to do so.--Dcheagletalkcontribs 19:27, 9 October 2013 (UTC)

Article quality ratings are not "C"[edit]

The articles that you are marking as "C" rating...are not "C" rated, because they don't meet the first sentence of the "C" description, which is "The article is substantial". Those articles are NOT substantial! See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Oklahoma/Assessment#Quality_scaleSbmeirowTalk • 17:39, 13 October 2013 (UTC)

See Wikipedia:WikiProject Cities/US Guideline for guideline for US City articles. Notice how little those Oklahoma articles have compared to this guideline....thus is why they aren't "substantial" nor "C" rated. • SbmeirowTalk • 17:39, 13 October 2013 (UTC)

Notability tags[edit]

I noted that you've added notability tags to a number of brief Oklahoma-related articles, including a number of biographies. I can understand why you've raised the question about these brief articles, but in case you haven't seen them, I want to call to your attention a couple of notability guildelines:

  • WP:POLITICIAN says that we will generally keep articles about "Politicians and judges who have held international, national or sub-national (statewide/provincewide) office, and members or former members of a national, state or provincial legislature." A footnote comments that "People who satisfy this criterion will almost always satisfy the primary criterion. Biographers and historians will usually have already written about the past and present holders of major political offices. However, this criterion ensures that our coverage of major political offices, incorporating all of the present and past holders of that office, will be complete regardless." To take one example, your tagging of Brenda Reneau: the Oklahoma Labor Commissioner is a statewide elected office, and thus presumably the holders of that office pass WP:POLITICIAN. In Reneau's case it's probably also significant that she was the first (and so far only) woman to hold the office. There was plenty of coverage about her career in reliable sources, as a quick look at GNews [1] and GBooks [2] shows; that multiple sources are not currently in the article, or that many of them may not be readily available online or for free, do not mean she's not notable.
  • Another relevant guideline is WP:NOLYMPICS: "Athletes from any sport are presumed notable if they have competed at the Summer or Winter Olympic games."
  • I also noted your tagging of several articles about OU women's basketball coaches. These could be debated, but in my experience, the head coaches of Division 1 programs in major sports tend to get kept. There's almost always news coverage about their careers. OU has had one of the more prominent womens' basketball programs, so I would have qualms about deleting articles about the head coaches. (Others may have a different view on this, however.)

Thanks very much for your outstanding efforts on behalf of Oklahoma related content! --Arxiloxos (talk) 14:04, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
