[edit] RE: Reference dates on 2010 Victorian storms
I'll keep this brief as I'm currently busy and have been all week. Australia uses DD/MM/YYYY and not the American date format of MM/DD/YYYY, although a lot of online Australian media organisations use the American format due to the software they use which of cause has been designed and made in the US or a country which uses the US format. Bidgee (talk) 08:31, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
-
- I'm not querying that in the slightest. I agree that the dates should be in the dd/mm/yy format. I'm querying your edit to change all the dates. I agree with the purpose of it but it was still clearly in violation of the MOS. Read the section I quote. Just in case you do it again and someone isn't happy about it. [edit] Thanks!
Thanks for the tips! I didn't know about the watchlist or how to link to the Outstanding Teen state titles. Also, I didn't add that local title in the Miss Alaska USA page (it was already there..I added the note about her sister) but I will remember that in the future and not add that sort of info!! MissAmericaGirl (talk) 01:43, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
- Haha sorry about then... well I guess now you know :) lol. PageantUpdater talk • contribs 01:45, 7 July 2010 (UTC) Let me know if you have any more questions... I follow the pageant articles pretty closely so if I spot anything else I'll let you know... just to be helpful of course!

It's ok! It's not your fault you caught it late. I will go back and fix it. It might take a while, though. Thanks. MissAmericaGirl (talk) 02:23, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
[edit] User: MissAmericaGirl
Hi. You seem to be following the User: MissAmericaGirl's talk page more less. I wanted to find an understanding with the user and revise my edits that s/he claimed to be vandalism. Here is the link to the user's contributions: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/MissAmericaGirl.
S/he seems to be completely ignoring me and simply corrects everything without any discussions. She made the following correction http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Miss_Ukraine&oldid=383540179, while writing "Changed info per source". Do you understand what that means? What source? I am very curious what source she mentioned. The contest Miss Ukraine is conducted in a concert hall therefore the prize is awarded from the audience (spectators), not all people. People's Choice sounds as a public competition involving participation of the whole population of Ukraine with some political inclination. I posted in the infobox spectators' sympathies trophy. That may sound kind of awkward, however, I do not see how that can be considered as nonconstructive compared to the preceding edit and then classified as vandalism. The user later corrected it in own way and then did the same corrections at Miss Ukraine.
Personally, it is not a big deal, however, I think it is a good gesture to discuss other opinions on the subject before conducting any changes. The most confusing is the statement about some source of which I see no traces. I never found any publications of the Ukrainian national beauty contests or any broadcasts in English and I am very curious to what source the user was referring. If the title was referred to as the People's Choice it is fine with me, however, in my opinion it is simply a generalization and should be reviewed. In my personal opinion the translation Audience Award sounds more precise than People's Choice. What is your opinion? Best regards, Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 02:20, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
