CFL Stadiums map[edit]

Thanks for using a Canadien map. I didn't have one when I created the map. Yours is much better.

Logos[edit]

Good job on adding the logos to stadium articles. It makes the articles' quality better. However, I've noticed that some of the logos you've uploaded do not have a Fair Use Rational. It is important that they have one or else they could very well end up getting deleted. A Fair User Rational looks something like this...

It is believed that this image, Rogerscentrelogo.JPG, is subject to fair use in the article Rogers Centre because:

  1. This image illustrates the text next to which it appears.
  2. It is of much lower resolution than the original (copies made from it will be of very inferior quality).
  3. This image is used on various websites, so its use on Wikipedia does not make it significantly more accessible or visible than it already is.
  4. The image is being used in an informative way and should not detract from the original work.
  5. No free or public domain images have been located for this item.

Just replace the bold parts with the name of the image and the name of the article. It's as easy as that. Cheers! -- bulletproof 3:16 04:33, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

stadium Logos[edit]

Please try to avoid uploading those has they are unneeded and replacable fair use, something we try to avoid. Instead find free images on the stadium themselves. Thanks Jaranda wat's sup 04:21, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

While I guess stadium logos are ok if there isn't a free image yet, they should be replaced by images of the stadium iself, which can be found by taking them yourself if possible, the logos are unneeded if there is already an image of the stadium. Thanks Jaranda wat's sup 04:36, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

List of National Football League stadiums[edit]

Which is almost entirely your work, is currently on WP:FLC. Do you have a reference for the main portion of the list, that is, the section outlining the former stadiums of each team? That looks like it's all that's holding the list from being promoted. -Phoenix 01:30, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

US Seals?[edit]

Moxie[edit]

What do you feel the image of the red and blue Moxie logo adds to that article? There's already a photo of an actual can that shows every bit of the exact same logo and, because the can is a three-dimensional object, the photo of the can is free-use. Because a free alternative exists, there doesn't seem to be a valid fair-use rationale for your image. Your thoughts? Kafziel Talk 13:23, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

I feel that the Orange and Blue Moxie logo depects the CURRENT Moxie logo, and not the 1930s-era one that has been put on there. Yes there is a can image but there should also be a representation of the logo that the corporation uses in this day and age as well as the past logo. Both the Moxie Man and the Moxie Logo have been updated, which happened sometime in the 1980s
But the picture of the soda can, right above the trivia section, has the exact same logo as the one you put in. The only difference is that the picture of the can is free use, and your logo isn't. Kafziel Talk 14:03, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
Then why can't we put the current logo back up to the top where it was prior to today for some time. that way people visiting the page can see the current logo, then see it on display on a can, then see one of the original logos that you put up
Because fair use logos should only be used if there's no free alternative. There is no free alternative for the old-style logo. There is a free alternative for yours - the picture of the can. Kafziel Talk 14:14, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Infobox NFLactive[edit]

I undid your infobox change to Tedy Bruschi because recently the NFLactive infobox went through some massive changes which now allows it to be compatible with retired players (i.e. the currentteam and currentnumber fields can be removed) so please cease changing infoboxes to NFLretired since hopefully its use will become non-existent. 2009 NECBL season article[edit]

Hey Pharos,

I just finished my work on the 2009 NECBL season. It is currently classified as a "start" class article, but I believe it to be of higher quality after my revisions. However, having done a substantial amount of work on the page, I do not feel I have an acceptable degree of objectivity in reassessing the article. As someone relatively familiar with the league, would you be able to look it over quickly and give it an assessment? I would really appreciate it.

Kithira (talk) 15:34, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

Okay, I'll take care of the article split. Any suggestions for the letter grade on the talk page? Thanks for the help.
Kithira (talk) 19:24, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
I split the article into a new 2009 NECBL playoffs article. Over the offseason, I'll probably go back and expand/split all the season articles into separate playoff sections. Would you suggest adding these to the "Seasons" navbox or creating a new "Playoffs" navbox?Kithira (talk) 11:55, 30 October 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:2010 GS Warriors Logo.png[edit]

A tag has been placed on File:2010 GS Warriors Logo.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. That is a useful clickable map! But it would fit better on pages if you omitted the northern vastness; and it would be prettier to use a projection based on New England (so the east-west boundaries are horizontal) rather than a piece of a projection based on the central US. FYI regarding college athletic conference maps[edit]

There is a discussion on the Project College Football talk page regarding the overview maps that are used in the InfoBoxes of college athletic conference pages. We're trying to develop some sort of consensus on how the maps should be built (which states are/aren't shaded, colors, non-full members, etc.) and your input would be welcome. Futures Collegiate Baseball League[edit]

This Silver Knights and Tornadoes fan appreciated that you follow the local press and updated this article on potential developments in the FCBL. The Telegram actually reported talk of an FCBL franchise for Worcester at the end of the abortive 2012 season. However, your statement that the FCBL (probably Chris Hall) "is hoping to add 3 more teams," though I don't doubt it, has a less-than-encyclopedic feel and is not in the article you cited. Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Oops, I didn't read to the end of the article, to see that you had updated the table on the new Worcester franchise, before creating a new section on the 2014 season and citing the article in Worcester Magazine. The result is fine. But the clickable map and the Intro still don't reflect the new franchise; do we wait until we see that it will actually start operating? Spike-from-NH (talk) 19:48, 2 October 2013 (UTC)

PS--That's got it. I tweaked your wording slightly. I got as far as you did on the clickable map, but gave up when I couldn't get it to render a dot at Worcester, as you didn't either. Separately, wouldn't it be cool if Template:FCBL were exactly the contents of Section 4 of this article (complete table plus clickable map), rather than just a list of the ten franchises? FCBL 2014[edit]

Your updates to Wikipedia continue to be my main source for news on the FCBL (that is, for notification that news exists). However, your description of the 2014 playoff format seems like it could be simplified, as it seems to be the same as the 2013 format, except that the division winners are the ones with the first-round byes. Now, neither the league press release nor your rendition of it, in describing the #3-vs-#6 and #4-vs-#5 single-game play-ins, says what it means if the division winners are not #1 and #2 in overall record. Spike-from-NH (talk) 03:28, 6 December 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for commenting that out; but the league confirms that the division winners get the #1 and #2 seed in order of their regular-season records. I restored your original text, which had nothing wrong as you originally wrote it. Spike-from-NH (talk) 18:55, 10 December 2013 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of 2013 FCBL All-Star Game[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article 2013 FCBL All-Star Game has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The All-Star Game of a collegiate summer baseball league is not notable.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. – Muboshgu (talk) 02:19, 4 March 2014 (UTC)

As you may have already heard, the Wikipedia community lost an invaluable member of the community last month. Adrianne Wadewitz was a feminist scholar of 18th-Century British literature, and a prolific editor of the site. As part of a worldwide series of tributes, New England Wikimedians, in conjunction with local institutions of higher learning, have created three edit-a-thons that will be occurring in May and June. The events are as follows:

We hope that you will be able to join us, whether you are an experienced editor or are using Wikipedia for the first time.
