About the Philippine Skyscraper and Towers[edit]

Hello Phicanad, I have added a tower on the list, if you just want to check it then you could. Thanks for your time.

Mr. Dragostea Din Tei (hehe what a song)... with regards to this building, I would like to expand this article, although it seems that I cant find enough data on it. Emporis doesnt have a complete detail on it, as well as other skyscraper-related websites. I have seen the building personally since I previously compare my nearby project's height to Summit One's, and it is indeed high enough, acutally the highest in its area in Shaw Boulevard. In the meantime, I would assume it to be in the area of 150-199 meters total height. Thanks for the help! Phichanad talk 17:43, 13 October 2008. (UTC)

I would also like to edit the data you provided in the infobox. The location you posted is actually a vacant unit inside the building, which is advertised "for rent" by your reference website. The floor area also is the floor area of the said "for rent" unit. For your information. Thanks and happy posting! Phichanad talk 17:53, 13 October 2008. (UTC)

BRP Cebu (PS-28)[edit]

Hello Phichanad! How are you? Your new article BRP Cebu (PS-28) is very good. I have nominated it for the DYK. According to the lead,

"Along with other ex-World War II veteran ships of the Philippine Navy, she is considered as one of the oldest active fighting ships in the world today."

Can you please provide citation for this? Regards, Masterpiece2000 (talk) 13:22, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Atherton images[edit]

I had just modified the information on Atherton images. See if you agree on that. This was to be your work when they were notified to you having a lack of info. Sincerely, Sdrtirs (talk) 07:04, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

If you want to remove the deletion notice, add a copyright tag. Removing tags without addressing the problems or even providing a reason constitutes vandalism, and you reverting my good faith edits without comment is extremely bad form. J Milburn (talk) 14:12, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Philippine Navy article[edit]

Hey buddy! thanks for reverting the article back to the better version, that guy who is fond of posting ship pictures I posted for other articles and saying it was from a joint Philippine-Russian whatever exercise is just nuts! anyway, hope that we can continue improving and guarding these articles from weird posters. Happy writing! phichanad (talk) 22:51, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

BRP Artemio Ricarte (PS-37)[edit]

Nuvola apps important.svg

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of BRP Artemio Ricarte (PS-37), and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: BRP Artemio Ricarte (PS37). It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 04:28, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

No you didn't...

Information.svg Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to move a page by copying its content and pasting it into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is considered undesirable because it splits the page history which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at the cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Speedy deletion of Image:RVN Chi Lang II.jpg[edit]

A tag has been placed on Image:RVN Chi Lang II.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image with an unknown source or an unknown copyright status which has been tagged as such for more than 7 days, and it still lacks the necessary information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:RVN Chi Lang II.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Dear Phichanad[edit]

Its me (the Russian) Tatiana (IP user 202.37.68.58) and the wife of (Pinouy) Martin (IP user 118.92.160.13). I was wondering if you could (if possible) make a Wikipedia page/article of the Jose Andrada Class. I to am a constant editor at Wikipedia. PS: I convinced Martin (IP user 118.92.160.13) to stop making edits without refrences. PS again: Before I came to the Phuilippines I was with the Soviet Air Force Command in Moskva (Moscow). Thats why I like military stuf. Martin (IP user 118.92.160.13) uses my computer often just incase ur wandering. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.37.68.58 03:18, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

Hi Ms. Tatiana, glad to hear from you. With regards to the Jose Andrada class Patrol Craft, I am actually contemplating on making an article about it, but I am currently having problems with regards to the data and content of the article I could make. I am lacking a lot of research data, and it with what I have, all I can do is a simple article without any weight with regards to details. Please understand that I need more time to be able to provide a good article. Thanks and happy posting! User:phichanad 14:33, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Could you please link to the image page, rather than directly to the image, so that the author and licensing information can be verified? J Milburn (talk) 19:13, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

That's still not the original source, and after searching through a few pages on Flickr, I'm assuming the original is all rights reserved anyway. Can I ask why you believe it is public domain? J Milburn (talk) 19:28, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
I have tagged the image as having no source- you're welcome to remove the notice if you provide the original source and proof that the image is in the public domain. If not, the image will be deleted in a few days. J Milburn (talk) 20:33, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Image permission problem with Image:JCPV 1.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:JCPV 1.jpg, which you've sourced to http://www.hueybravo.net/NavyPages/jacintophotos.htm. I noticed that that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Image permission problem with Image:Summit_One_Tower.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Summit_One_Tower.jpg.

If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. bluemask (talk) 08:25, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Do not remove the notice you provide a link to the permission where the author states that the image is PD. --bluemask (talk) 05:46, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:UnionBank Plaza.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:UnionBank Plaza.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Little context in Philippine Skyscrapers[edit]

Information icon.svg

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Philippine Skyscrapers, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Philippine Skyscrapers is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Philippine Skyscrapers, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 17:10, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

Fort Bonifacio[edit]

Fort Bonifacio is not exclusively a military base. Majority of Fort Bonifacio has been sold and converted. It is now a district in Taguig City.

Bonifacio Global City (Ayala Land) is a part of Fort Bonifacio as well as American War Memorial (under American Battle Monuments Commission) McKinley Hill (Megaworld Corp) and Heritage Park. McKinley Hill and Heritage Park should not be under the name or article of Bonifacio Global City because the two areas are owned by other developers.

Bonifacio Global City, McKinley Hill and Heritage Park as well as business owners in the area use "Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City" in their address. [1][2][3] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.54.92.146 (talk) 05:55, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:1322_Golden_Empire_night.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:1322_Golden_Empire_night.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 09:52, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Magat_Salamat_1.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Magat_Salamat_1.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:50, 10 April 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Bluemask (talk) 12:50, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Image permission problem with Image:Magat_Salamat_1.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Magat_Salamat_1.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.

If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Bluemask (talk) 14:03, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Conscription in the Philippines[edit]

Hi.

I've reverted this recent edit by you of yours to the Conscription article. The edit changed the information to disagree with cite-supported info without citing a better or more applicable supporting source. Before reverting, I checked another source, and got similar info ("Military service age and obligation: 18-25 years of age (officers 21-29) for compulsory and voluntary military service; applicants must be single male or female Philippine citizens (2007)") I suspect that the situation in the Philippines may be similar to the situation in the United States (see that entry in the table), with conscription being provided for by law (Article II Section 4 of the Philippine constitution says, in part, "... citizens may be required, under conditions provided by law, to render personal, military or civil service.") but is not currently practiced. However, I'm not aware of citeable sources supporting that suspicion. -- Boracay Bill (talk) 04:37, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

RPS Datu Kalantiaw (PS-76)[edit]

Nuvola apps important.svg

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of RPS Datu Kalantiaw (PS-76), and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: BRP Datu Kalantiaw (PS-76). It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 06:12, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

File copyright problem with File:USS Gayety.jpg[edit]

Copyright-problem.svg

Thank you for uploading File:USS Gayety.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. FASTILYsock(TALK) 21:58, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

BRP vs RPS[edit]

Thanks, I didn't know that. Learn something new every day. :) - The Bushranger One ping only 22:00, 7 November 2011 (UTC)

No problem, there were several changes in ship naming in the Philippine Navy since its inception. Example the current BRP Rajah Humabon. It was originally called RPS Rajah Humabon (PS-78), then BRP Rajah Humabon (PF-6), then BRP Rajah Humabon (PF-11). The organization itself was not even the Philippine Navy only until 1950, previously it was called Offshore Patrol, and later on as Philippine Naval Patrol. -- phichanad phichanad 05:46, 8 November 2011 (UTC)

May 2012[edit]

Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to BRP Gregorio del Pilar (PF-15). Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Note: 1.) Photos can be use to cite something but it is ultimately the source content/text that is reusable here; 2.) All types of discussion forums are not considered as reliable sources (per WP:SELFPUBLISH); & 3.) Combining sources to arrive at your own point of WP:SYNTHESIS for conclusion(s) is generally frowned upon here. Dave ♠♣♥♦™№1185©♪♫® 16:48, 5 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi. When you recently edited BRP Nicolas Mahusay (PG-116), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page MTU (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Proposed blackout in protest of RA 10175[edit]

Dear Phichanad,

Greetings!

As a Filipino Wikipedian, I hope you are aware of the passage of Republic Act No. 10175, also known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, which was signed into law by President Benigno Aquino III on September 12, 2012. Currently, there is a discussion on the Tambayan, the noticeboard for Philippines-related topics, about a proposed blackout of the English Wikipedia in the Philippines in order to protest the passage of RA 10175, similar to the blackout against SOPA and PIPA held earlier this year. I feel that your input on the subject will definitely help in the discussion.

Please feel free to participate in the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Tambayan Philippines#The Cybercrime Prevention Act, and I hope your input will help the Filipino Wikipedia community determine which is the best course of action against this law. Similarly, we hope to get as much input from as many Wikipedians as possible.

Thank you and maraming salamat po!

Kind regards,

Sky Harbor (talk) 09:47, 3 October 2012 (UTC)

BRP Artemio Ricarte (PS-37)[edit]

Please avoid wp:edit warring. I would suggest using wp:edit summaries when undoing "unsourced additions" Use "rv unsourced content" or something like that. I would also suggest adding a warning template to the user's talk page {{subst:uw-unsourced1| Page name }} increment the number (1-4) Ref: Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace. The count should restart after a couple of days without warnings as IPs are often reassigned. If the editor vandalizes more then four times, report him on wp:aiv. Please make sure you are following policy correctly. See wp:vandalism If you need any help, feel free to leave a note on my talk page. Thank you Jim1138 (talk) 10:04, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Modified your ASW Helicopter edit in Philippine Navy[edit]

Hello. I changed your edit of my edit on the anti-submarine helicopter in the Philippine Navy. Your combining the two created a false impression that 2 ASW helicopters were being pursued under that particular program. While the budget may be coming from AFP Modernization Program, it is clear that only one helicopter will be purchased under the Medium Term Capability Development Program (MTCDP 2013-2017). It is likely that the second ASW helicopter will be purchased after 2017. Henryjones000 (talk) 00:14, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

There was no indication of quantity other than the word "an". You based your assumption on a single news report, while there are already several reports before calling for the acquisition of "at least" 2 units with a specific budget. The so-called "Medium Term Capability Development Program" is only a sub-program of the Philippine Navy & AFP Modernization Program. You are only assuming that the 2nd ASW helicopter may only be purchased after 2017. You blindly acknowledged that you only follow the news "word-per-word" without acknowledging that this MTCDP and previous plan to buy 2 ASW helicopters are the same. I cannot comment more re. actual numbers as we are only talking about what was released so far for public consumption. But based on logic alone, would just buy 1 ASW helicopter for 2 new frigates?

Request reason:

I am currently using an IP network which was blocked by wikipedia for reasons I don't know. I am new in using this network. I currently do not have any issues with wikipedia, and maybe an exception to my registered account can be made. thanks.

Decline reason:

It is very likely you have not been personally blocked. Unfortunately, we are unable to unblock you because you have been caught in a rangeblock. These are applied to stop persistent vandals from using multiple IP addresses to evade their block. For our security, we cannot release this block early unless there is clear evidence of severe collateral damage. You can, however, log in to edit. If you don't have an account, you can request an account at the account creation request form, making sure to add a link to this page for our reference in the comments section. Sorry for the inconvenience, but please let us know if you have any questions. A minority of rangeblocks are "hard blocked" and prohibit editing even if logged in, due to exceptional vandalism or other similar issues. If despite creating an account, you still find that you cannot edit even when logged in, then please contact us again with the relevant error message. . — Daniel Case (talk) 14:10, 18 December 2013 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first and then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page for as long as you are blocked.

Phichanad (talk) 01:02, 18 December 2013 (UTC)

We need to see the message you get when you try to edit. So we can see if it's an autoblock, a global block or whatever  Ronhjones  (Talk) 01:54, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
It says: "You are currently unable to edit Wikipedia. You are still able to view pages, but you are not currently able to edit, move, or create them. Editing from 219.74.0.0/16 has been blocked (disabled) by AGK for the following reason(s): CheckUser evidence has determined that this IP address or network has been used (not necessarily by you) to disrupt Wikipedia. It has been blocked from editing to prevent further abuse. If you get this message, please read the following information."
Is the info sufficient? Thanks.
Phichanad (talk) 05:00, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
The above decline was purely procedural, since we can't just except one or two IPs from rangeblocks. We can, however, exempt registered accounts. You'll need to go to that link and go to the toolserver link so a more thorough check can be done on your account first, though. Daniel Case (talk) 14:14, 18 December 2013 (UTC)

Recent Changes on Philippine Military Related Articles[edit]

Hi Phichanad,

I saw the recent changes you made on Philippine Military related articles. Generally, I approve of you removing the clutter on the pages. I like how you summarized items to remove the clutter. Thanks for that.

I noticed though that some of the items that I added that has very valid and recent citations/references have been replaced by declarations without supporting citations/references. Please allow me to restore these items.

I hope we can continue working together for the improvement and accuracy of these pages.

Have a good day.

Israformales (talk) 04:33, 28 June 2014 (UTC)

So far there are only a few items that I removed and were re-written without citations. This includes the distribution of 155mm howitzers to Army and Marine Corps, and the weapons installed on the PF-15 and PF-16. For the 155mm howitzers, the supplemental bid bulletin indicating the project is for both the army and marines have been included now.
For the PF-15 and PF-16, there are no accurate written sources that can be properly describe those installed on the ships, but are based on photos, analysis on blogs & forums, information from ship crew, and informal discussions which cannot be used as citations in Wikipedia. Media reports can't be used accurately all the time. I have been editing all AFP and defense related entries here for several years now, and it takes time, more research, and patience to be able to get the best information. I noticed that most of your edits are closely based on media reports, which as I said gets it wrong time and again.
It would be best if you could keep your edits as simple as possible, no news-like stories, and double checked with other sources aside from a single media report. You'll understand what I mean when you do this for a little longer more.
