Welcome from Redwolf24[edit]

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. We as a community are glad to have you and thank you for creating a user account! Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Yes some of the links appear a bit boring at first, but they are VERY helpful if you ever take the time to read them.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, please be sure to sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes (Redwolf24 01:03, 10 July 2005 (UTC)) to produce your name and the current date, or three tildes (Redwolf24) for just your name. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome.

P.S. I like messages :-P

Un-Wise[edit]

Why did you write on the Ernie Wise article that he spanked Angela Rippon? Don't do stuff like that, it's not funny. It's just annoying. Do me a favour and delete it. cheers.--Crestville 19:06, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

If you look carefully at the page history, you'll see that it wasn't me who wrote that. But I've deleted it anyway. PhilipC

Sorry, yer right. My mistake.--Crestville 23:09, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

Request for edit summary[edit]

Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 2% for major edits and 13% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 104 minor edits outside the Wikipedia, User, Image, and all Talk namespaces.)

This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear inpolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 04:31, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

Cite[edit]

Hey Phil, I was getting around to a full citing of the William March page, just have very little time as updating the page and creating tangential pages is a full time job! Thanks for your help, if you have anymore input, let me know...Cheers! --Diarmada 13:45, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

I know the feeling. Didn't mean to nag; I must be getting over-zealous.PhilipC 20:38, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

An Invite to join Novels WikiProject[edit]

Book collection.jpg

Hi, you are cordially invited to join the Novels WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to fiction books often referred to as "Novels". We make no length distinction so all narrative prose fiction is of interest. This includes Novels, novellas, novelettes and short stories. Articles about the works themselves and the forms and genres.

As you have shown an interest in Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels/List of literary works with eponymous heroines we thought you might like to take an interest in this well established WikiProject.
We look forward to welcoming you to the project! :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 17:06, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Albert Ball[edit]

I have reverted your recent edit deleting the bit about Ball being "only behind Richthofen" - on the assumption that you were thinking of other aces' final scores rather than where they were in May 1917 when Ball was killed. If you have a source that would indicate that anyone else was ahead of him at the time - then by all means re-edit - putting the relevant stats and their source on the discussion page! Happy editing --Soundofmusicals (talk) 10:01, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks - I didn't mean to claim that anyone was ahead of him at the time, just didn't read the sentence carefully enough. PhilipC (talk) 18:38, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Information.svg Hello PhilipC! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 3 of the articles that you created are Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to these articles, it would greatly help us with the current 1,750 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Thomas Tessier - Find sources: "Thomas Tessier" – news · newspapers · books · scholar · JSTOR · free images
  2. John Carlisle (actor) - Find sources: "John Carlisle (actor)" – news · newspapers · books · scholar · JSTOR · free images
  3. Anne Rouse - Find sources: "Anne Rouse" – news · newspapers · books · scholar · JSTOR · free images

Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 07:23, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
