[edit] Army of the Tennessee
PKK: Thank you for your note and work on the AOT piece. I am sorry to be slow responding but did not notice your note for several days after you posted it. I appreciate your work on the article and also your kind words about it. Sometimes I feel that my time was perhaps not well invested in the article, considering the low number of page views the article seems to get. But, I learned something abt the subject while trying to improve the article. Thanks aagin. Hartfelt (talk) 14:37, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

[edit] Mallory lead
Hi mate, just a quick note, I saw the revamped lead and, while I haven't read it all, I can say that's more than you need now... Check out William Tecumseh Sherman or, for a slightly longer one, Frederick Scherger as guides. Also, bulleted or numbered lists are a no-no in the lead. Play around with it and you'll get the right medium -- go for it, I want to see this at GA/A, maybe even FA...! Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 13:20, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks
I enjoyed your letter about the Battle of the Head of Passes. I need all the advise I can get, being relatively new to Wikipedia writing. Spring has produced all sorts of distractions, but I hope to improve and add more to the additions already made. The Louisiana map and various graphics from the ORN turned out better than I expected, and I hope to round up more. Calender5 Frank (talk) 22:17, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
Added the Louisiana map and New Orleans map to the "Occupation of New Orleans" article, so something got done on that score. Hope to do more as time allows. Frank (talk) 03:55, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
The additions you suggested to the Capture of New Orleans article are completed. I attempted to provide more information on the political complexities of Butler's occupation government. The connections between the article and other historical articles on New Orleans were expanded, as well as links to the battles forming the Union campaign to control the Mississippi Valley. Frank (talk) 18:23, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
[edit] Capture/Siege of New Orleans
Thank you for your efforts in improving and reviewing this article. I agree with you in respect to the label change, more discussion is probably in order in allocating information into the various headings dealing with New Orleans. Frank (talk) 19:52, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
A lack of justification for the label change to "Siege" would indicate switching it back to "Capture". This would involve reworking the "New Orleans in the Civil War" article in the direction of larger strategic considerations, leaving the political and economic information for the "Capture" article. I would be willing to work on that. Would keying the "undo" option return the "Siege" label to "Capture", or are other steps necessary?Frank (talk) 17:09, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

[edit] Campbell book
I just got Confederate Naval Forces on Western Waters and it's a pretty good read. Though I really doubt the speed that he credits CSS Webb with. I can scan any chapters that you might be particularly interested in.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 02:31, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
