Image Tagging Image:181404 LB 00 FB.EPS.jpg[edit]

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:181404 LB 00 FB.EPS.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 21:23, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

Sorting on disambig pages[edit]

Hi there, in general disambiguation pages are not sorted alphabetically, they are sorted in order of use, see:

Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages)#Order of entries

Thanks/wangi 16:24, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

OMF[edit]

Hello. I've reverted your categorisation of this article, since it is a disambiguation article and therefore does not fall into your category. If you wish to split a new article, say, Object Module Format away from the VME article and into a separate article, then your categorisation would be fine for that article, since it would only deal with OMF. Thanks, Ian Cairns 13:46, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

VME#OMF: - I see the problem but I was unable to label the right categorie in VME :-( Polluks 14:04, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Yes, hence why you need to split off ObMoFo from the VME article into a separate article in order to categorise it separately. Of course, OMF is already taken as an article name... Ian Cairns 14:49, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

vbcc[edit]

vbcc has been proposed for deletion. An editor felt the subject might not be notable enough for an article. Please review Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability for the relevant concerns. An example of notability guidelines can be found at Wikipedia:Notability (websites). If you can improve the article to address these concerns, please do so.

If no one objects to the deletion within five days by removing the "prod" notice, the article may be deleted without further discussion. If you remove the prod notice, the deletion process will stop, but if an editor is still not satisfied that the article meets Wikipedia guidelines, it may be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion for consensus. Chipsets.png listed for deletion[edit]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Chipsets.png, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. – Fʀɪɺøʟɛ ( тɐʟк¢ʘи†ʀ¡βs ) 05:18, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

just wanted to let you know, I've put this image up for deletion. I've made a replacement for it at Image:Chipsets2.png. – Fʀɪɺøʟɛ ( тɐʟк¢ʘи†ʀ¡βs ) 05:18, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
Okay, you may also add a legend for "chipset" and "device" -- Polluks 10:22, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
Ooh, good point. I take it that rounded = chipset and rectangular = device, right? – Fʀɪɺøʟɛ ( тɐʟк¢ʘи†ʀ¡βs ) 16:35, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Non-free use disputed for Image:Btx.png[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Btx.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 16:13, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi[edit]

I'm afraid you're going to have to remind me when we last spoke and the subject? I've read your username somewhere before but I can't remember... The only thing I know about GUI is what it stands for: General User Interface. ScarianTalk 17:05, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Ah! Graphical. I am enlightened thank you :-) - I knew I'd screw up somewhere. Yeah I didn't understand the I.P. edit, friend, so I AGF removed it. I'd never seen those tags before and in that pattern so I thought it might've been a test edit. What was it about? Take care, buddy. ScarianTalk 17:13, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:FLEX.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:FLEX.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:07, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:ALi logo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:ALi logo.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Image copyright problem with File:PrtShop1.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:PrtShop1.gif. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 05:27, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of TurboPrint[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article TurboPrint has been proposed for deletion. The proposed-deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Ironholds (talk) 01:30, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

File copyright problem with File:ProDOS16.png[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:ProDOS16.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ww2censor (talk) 06:13, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:ProDOS.png[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:ProDOS.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Speedy deletion nomination of Sunplus Technology[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

A tag has been placed on Sunplus Technology requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. June 2011[edit]

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images. However, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded or added to an article may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our non-free image criteria. Please note that we take very seriously our criteria on non-free image uploads, and users who repeatedly upload or misuse non-free images may be blocked from editing. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media Copyright Questions page. ΔT The only constant 13:17, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

File:Decsystem.svg needs authorship information.[edit]

Dear uploader:

The media file you uploaded as File:Decsystem.svg appears to be missing information as to its authorship (and or source), or if you did provide such information, it is confusing for others trying to make use of the image.

It would be appreciated if you would consider updating the file description page, to make the authorship of the media clearer.

Although some images may not need author information in obvious cases, (such where an applicable source is provided),authorship information aids users of the image, and helps ensure that appropriate credit is given (a requirement of some licenses).

  • If you created this media yourself, please consider explicitly including your user name, for which:{{subst:usernameexpand|Polluks}} will produce an appropriate expansion,
    or use the {{own}} template.
  • If this is an old image, for which the authorship is unknown or impossible to determine, please indicate this on the file description page.
If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 19:13, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Graphtec[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Graphtec requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Tckma (talk) 17:15, 10 August 2011 (UTC)

More information needed about File:MelbourneHouse.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:MelbourneHouse.png. However, it needs some more work before it is okay to use on Wikipedia.

Please click here and do the following:

  1. Add a description of where the image comes from (not what it is) and who the creator is. Please be specific, and include a link if you can.
  2. Find the appropriate license from the list of free, non-free media, or public domain options. Copy the license template and paste it in the file's page, and save.

If you follow these steps, your image can help enhance Wikipedia. If you have any questions, feel free to ask at the media copyright questions page.

Thank you for your contribution! --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 18:06, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

Kawai K1[edit]

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Kawai K1, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.polynominal.com/site/studio/gear/sold/kawai_k1r/index.html.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) MadmanBot (talk) 19:45, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Kawai K1[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Kawai K1 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. §everal⇒|Times 19:49, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:Yes VIC can.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Yes VIC can.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:34, 10 July 2012 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of AmiTCP[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article AmiTCP has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unsourced and no indication of WP:notability

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. noq (talk) 19:09, 25 December 2012 (UTC)

Cut and paste move of NeoChrome to NEOchrome[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give NeoChrome a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into NEOchrome. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you.

(I have tagged the NEOchrome page so that an admin can merge the histories. I should make clear that I don't have a problem with the move to the differently-titled page in itself, only with the way that it was done. All the best.) Ubcule (talk) 12:10, 26 December 2012 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Logo sunplus.png[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Logo sunplus.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. ViperSnake151  Talk  14:54, 26 May 2013 (UTC)

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed your recent edit to HP 2640 does not have an edit summary. Please provide one before saving your changes to an article, as the summaries are quite helpful to people browsing an article's history.

The edit summary appears in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks! Jeh (talk) 19:21, 3 July 2014 (UTC)

The above comes from a standard template. More personally, I'd like to add:
Please avoid making edits that do not affect what the reader sees. In your most recent edit to the page you changed a double-space to a single and you removed a line break from the markup. Neither of these changes affects how the page is rendered to the reader, but an editor watching the page can't know that without looking at the diff. At the very least such edits should be marked as minor.
And re your previous edit to HP 2640, thank you for adding the references, but couldn't you have put "added refs" in the summary?
Thank you for your consideration. Jeh (talk) 19:24, 3 July 2014 (UTC)
