Hello and welcome to Wikipedia!

Here are some tips to help you get started:

* If you haven't already, please add your name to the new user log to let others know a little about yourself. * Read the article describing how to edit a page and feel free to experiment in the Sandbox. * When editing pages, use the preview button before submitting and try to fill in the summary box for every edit. * Eventually, read the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines. * If you need help, post a question at the Help Desk or ask me on my talk page. * Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!

Good luck!

Please cite sources[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Daniel Cordone, but we regretfully cannot accept original research. Please find and add a reliable citation to your recent edit so we can verify your work. Uncited information may be removed at any time. Thanks for your efforts, and happy editing! Some helpful tips[edit]

I noticed you editing a few pages on my watch list, and I hope you don't mind me offering some helpful advice. First of all, you should familiarize yourself with talk pages and Wikiquette. On talk pages, please post new comments at the very bottom, or better yet, hit the plus sign tab at the top of the page. This will create a new topic for you. Also, every time you post something on a talk page, you must 'sign' it by typing four tildes <nowikie>Andrew c 02:09, 26 October 2006 (UTC)</nowiki>. As for the main article space, as stated above, when you add new content, you must supply a citation of a verifiable, reliable source. You may also want to review the original research and neutral point of view policy pages. Hope this helps. Happy editings!--Andrew c 02:09, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

Your periodic adding of mostly irrelevant links to articles such as total depravity and presuppositional apologetics (e.g., these) needs to stop. Fair enough. The talk page edit noted above was certainly not constructive. Real Madrid criticism section[edit]

Hi, I was wondering why you removed the criticism section relating to Real Madrid's comments about their desire to sign Cristiano Ronaldo?

It seemed highly notable, related to not only Real Madrid, but the current European and English champions, Manchester United.

Normally, if one of my edits is removed, it is easy to understand why, by reading the edit summaries, however you marked your edit that removed the information as a minor edit (removal of an entire section is hardly minor) and left no information in the summary.

Anyway, just a polite suggestion, perhaps if you want to removed correctly cited and notable information, it would be nice if you left an edit summary, or even better discussed it with the other involved editors beforehand.

I'm sure your edit was done with the best of intentions, it is just a little hard to understand your motives, without discussion/summary information.

see ya

New World Order conspiracy theory[edit]

I reversed your edits in the Christian theories centering on the End time section in the New World Order (conspiracy theory) article since you have justified why your wording is more accurate. As for your question about whether we should create a criticsm section, you seem not have noticed that the article currently has one. However, according to the Wikipedia:Criticism sections page:

--Loremaster (talk) 00:57, 31 January 2009 (UTC)'

I just felt that you were adding a criticism section only because it was a christian theory. I mean i really dont care what secular humanists think about christian apocolyptic theories. I originally wrote the first paragraph, so i felt like international demonic order sounded better and more accurate then theocratic whatever. I did however like the emperial cult thing. Portillo (talk) 02:58, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

I'm trying to add criticism to all theories as quickly as I find them. The criticism of the Christian "End Time" theory mostly comes from Preterism rather than secular humanism. As for your expression "international demonic order", I've decided to replace it with "satanic world theocracy". Lastly, I removed the mention of David Allen Rivera's Final Warning: The History of the New World Order because of its lack of notability. However, we can cite it as a source for the first paragraph in the "End Time" theory section. --Loremaster (talk) 16:38, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

First sentence of MJ article[edit]

I saw your suggestions in the talk page of the article and in Ian's talk page. I like your idea very much. Would you be fine with the following version: "MJJ, dubbed the King of Pop, was an American musician and entertainer, widely regarded as one of the most commercially successful recording artists of all time"? As for citations, they are given in the last section, Legacy and influence, where he is cited as the greatest selling male solo act ever. We don't have to clutter the lead with citations so I think that should be good enough. Let me know what you think. Thank you.UberCryxic (talk) 18:42, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Yeah im sure i can live with that. The other option is to simply leave it as it is "Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009), dubbed the "King of Pop", was an American recording artist and entertainer." Portillo (talk) 23:31, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Chickens as pets[edit]

Just because it was (uncited) in the main article doesn't mean it's appropriate. The subject of "chickens as pets" isn't an encyclopedic article detailing how people keep pet chickens, but about the phenomenon of pet chickens, i.e. where and why chickens became pets. Any how to content describing how pet chickens are kept is almost entirely too general. The line between pet chickens and regular poultry keeping isn't clearly defined by the manner of keeping them, only in the attitude people have toward their chickens. Steven Walling 06:05, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

So how exactly do you plan to expand the article? I believe that the article is about pet chickens such as in an urban environment, not a farm or hatchery. I understand there may be a few how-to sentences, but theres really nothing wrong with writing what pet chickens eat or the fact that chickens need to have dust baths in order to keep parasites in check. Portillo (talk) 08:41, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

My point is that all chickens take dust baths and have the same dietary requirements. The content I removed is by-and-large not unique to keeping pet chickens. Steven Walling 20:14, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

Well its not mentioned anywhere else, so maybe it should be mentioned here. Plus, pet chickens are kept differently to hatcheries. Hatcheries have cages with only a tiny bit of food and water for each chicken, no grass, no dustbaths, etc. Portillo (talk) 21:35, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

General chicken information should go in the main chicken article. Also, your comment about hatcheries is totally incorrect. Not all farms and hatcheries are the same, and some are better or worse than others. Steven Walling 21:18, 18 October 2009 (UTC)

Well you better get busy, because i checked the chicken article, and dont see anything about what chickens eat or how they are maintained when kept as pets. Portillo (talk) 09:32, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Derek ramsey[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Derek ramsey has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails notability requirements. Nice for a userpage to mention, but nothing for the mainspace.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of StrongLifts[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

A tag has been placed on StrongLifts, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. AfD nomination of StrongLifts[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is StrongLifts. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/StrongLifts. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:18, 27 October 2009 (UTC)

Canvassing[edit]

Information.svg Hello. It appears that you have been canvassing—leaving messages on others' talk pages to notify them of an ongoing community decision, debate, or vote—in order to influence Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/StrongLifts. While friendly notices are allowed, they should be limited and nonpartisan in distribution and should reflect a neutral point of view. Please do not post notices which are indiscriminately cross-posted, which espouse a certain point of view or side of a debate, or which are selectively sent only to those who are believed to hold the same opinion as you. Blanking my user page to write your tripe perfectly demonstrates the ignorant arrogance of the "ex-premies". There is none so deaf as those who don't listen.Momento (talk) 09:21, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

I didnt write anything, i reverted. Portillo (talk) 09:48, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

What's this then? [3]Momento (talk) 21:25, 14 November 2009 (UTC)

I reverted that. 1 Portillo (talk) 00:10, 15 November 2009 (UTC)

Let me get this clear. You're saying you didn't write "To Momento, Prem Rawat said in the early 1970's" etc.? You just inserted someone else's crap? Momento (talk) 02:43, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

Heres what happened. I noticed that you were banned from editing an article so i checked your userpage. I wanted to revert it back to "this is momentos page" (it was blank at the time), but i accidently reverted that paragraph which i dont know what it meant or what it was about. Portillo (talk) 06:11, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

The truth at last. OK. According to the conditions of my ban we can have no further discussion about why I was banned and the circumstances around it. How's the weather? Momento (talk) 10:22, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

I had never seen a user get banned from 1 article :). Weathers fine. Portillo (talk) 10:40, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

Admin userbox[edit]

Hi Portillo, I see that you have an "administrator willing to make difficult blocks" userbox. However, I can find no evidence that you are actually an administrator.[4] Would you please remove that userbox from your page - having it when you are not a sysop is rather deceptive. If I am somehow in error, and you really are an administrator, would you please direct me to the evidence thereof? Thank you, LadyofShalott 21:17, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of MMA Junkie[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

A tag has been placed on MMA Junkie requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Kai Greene[edit]

You just reverted my addition to the entry on Kai Greene, arguing that a photo that does not show his face is not acceptable. May I ask you to cite a relevant Wikipedia policy on that matter? I added the photo to illustrate the fact that Greene is interested in showing his body in artistic contexts, in addition to appearing in bodybuilding contests. It seems to me that the photo is very appropriate in that regard. To address your concern, however, I will exchange the photo for another one that does show his face. Please let me know if you have any problems with that. (By the way, I only deleted your photo because it duplicates the one at the top of the article. I thought it would be more informative to add something different.) Thanks! GBataille (talk) 23:46, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

Groove metal[edit]

Hello Portilo. I'm just curious as to what is your opinion on the notability of the groove metal entry? There aren't many reliable sources discussing this term. RG (talk) 03:23, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

Not sure about sources. But i consider groove metal to be post-thrash/90's metal. I do think its notable. Portillo (talk) 03:28, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

It's original research to say that these two terms are the same thing and neither of these term are really notable. If you think the topic's notable, then please provide some reliable sources to prove me wrong. RG (talk) 02:49, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

I dont really care if the article is deleted or not. I already voted for a keep. My only concern is what will groove metal bands be classified as? Portillo (talk) 04:08, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

How many bands can you actually find reliably sourced with the term? RG (talk) 10:49, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

Pantera and Machine Head. Portillo (talk) 11:03, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

Nu metal[edit]

The revision you reverted to has a multitude of poorly-sourced and unsourced content, original research, and overt references to the band Korn, despite the fact that the article is not about that band, and changes the lead so that it appears as a genre, not as an umbrella term (which is cited). The current revision is based on actual sourced content. (Sugar Bear (talk) 01:07, 11 May 2010 (UTC))

Your version is ugly. Remove the unsourced content then. Portillo (talk) 01:38, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

WP:CIVIL[edit]

I take offense to your edit summary on the groove metal article. "what a stupid thing to say", that's rude. Please stay calm and be pleasant with other editors. And the Machine Head info is irrevelant. Those two allmusic links don't even use the words "groove metal", it's just talking about Machine Head in general hence why it isn't needed. RG (talk) 12:47, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

The link between thrash and pantera is groove metal. Portillo (talk) 23:18, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:CesareBonventre1.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:CesareBonventre1.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 09:45, 10 July 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 09:45, 10 July 2010 (UTC)

Puer aeternus[edit]

Hi, Portillo. I'm not sure why you reverted me here. One of the cited sources you restored is a dead link, and neither of the remaining two alleges that Michael Jackson constituted an example of so-called "Peter Pan syndrome": the Time piece does even mention "Peter Pan syndrome" and the ABC piece only mentions the so-called syndrome in connection with the characteristics of pedophiles; Jackson is not the subject of this passage. As none of the sources asserts that Jackson was an example of so-called "Peter Pan syndrome", the passage fails WP:V and I've removed it again. Cheers. -- Rrburke (talk) 01:24, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Fourth Ward, New York[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

A tag has been placed on Fourth Ward, New York requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. — Train2104 (talkcontribscount) 18:39, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Seven Signs Of Christ's Return[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

A tag has been placed on Seven Signs Of Christ's Return, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.

Speedy deletion nomination of Wedbush Securities[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Wedbush Securities requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} at the top of the article, immediately below the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate), and providing your reasons for contesting on the article's talk page, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

You may want to read the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. GoingBatty (talk) 04:04, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Bridalplasty - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Brianhe (talk) 04:11, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Jerrad Tyson[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Jerrad Tyson has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Kudpung (talk) 10:50, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

Mahamadou Diarra[edit]

I have removed this content from the article again. Instead of stating these opinions as fact, you should use attribution -- write who has described him as a "midfield destroyer" and "one of the best holding midfielders in world football". Barret (talk) 11:24, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

Why?[edit]

Why did you undo my revision on the Madame Blavatsky post?

On that page, what you guys are doing is making all that information sound as if it's totally 100% fact when it's not. Those are just claims. That's all they will ever be. You're also pushing off that information unto the people trying to make them buy into the subject of theology. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.181.13.66 (talk) 03:54, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

What you wrote was your opinion. Portillo (talk) 04:43, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

No, it's not. Madame Blavatsky claims all that stuff. But none of it can proven. It's not 100% fact. If so, prove to me what she said is true. PROVE IT! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.181.13.66 (talk) 04:53, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

I just edited the article. "Please remember though, these are only claims" does not belong in an article unless its sourced. Portillo (talk) 05:49, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Ok, i'll find a source. Most definitely. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.181.13.66 (talk) 20:14, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Apologies[edit]

Hi there PORTILLO, VASCO from Portugal here,

sorry for my edit summary at Idriss Carlos Kameni, a very poor choice of words from me, even though you must admit the first time you added that stuff about racism it was a bit odd (a loose sentence, no ref).

Now, you have reinstated it with a source, i will obviously not remove it, just improved the display of the sentence overall. That said, please accept my sincere apologies, keep up the good work. - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 04:10, 30 January 2011 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:CesareBonventre1.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:CesareBonventre1.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Gemini Lounge[edit]

Hey, just wanted to make note of why I blanked the page so as not to give the impression that I was intentionally vandalizing. The Gemini Lounge was a Mafia hangout used by the DeMeo crew and is linked that way in a number of articles (e.g., Richard Kuklinski). I thought it inappropriate that there should be a link to an unrelated place in Oregon which apparently doesn't even go by the same name. Better then to make an empty page until a new article for the Gemini Lounge (i.e. the mob hangout) has been created. But if you think differently that's totally cool. :-) Shoplifter (talk) 10:20, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Bible series[edit]

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Bible series, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, Speedy delete contest button.png. Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Drmies (talk) 03:18, 26 December 2011 (UTC)

Removing Speedy at Bible series[edit]

Hi Portillo, you recently removed a deletion tag from Bible series. Because Wikipedia policy does not allow the creator of the page to remove speedy deletion tags, an automated program has replaced the tag. Although the deletion proposal may be incorrect, removing the tag is not the correct way for you to contest the deletion, even if you are more experienced than the nominator. Instead, please use the talk page to explain why the page should not be deleted. Remember to be patient, there is no harm in waiting for another experienced user to review the deletion and judge what the right course of action is. As you are involved, and therefore potentially biased, you should refrain from doing this yourself. Thank you, - SDPatrolBot (talk) 03:28, 26 December 2011 (UTC)

Re: Talk: Kris Humphries[edit]

A few days ago, you requested that some information about the Kim Kardashian debacle be put into the article Kris Humphries on the article's talk page after I called for an article update to reflect the most recent information as of that point. I reverted your request because it was not what I was looking for in terms of an article update. Thank you.

Hi. When you recently edited Hebrew Reali School, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Israeli (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Edt summaries please[edit]

Information.svg You just made three edits to Isaac Newton without providing an edit summary: [6], [7], [8]. Accurate summaries help other contributors decide whether it is worthwhile for them to review an edit, and to understand the change should they choose to review it. So, please, use edit summaries with all your edits. Thank you. -

By the way, I notice that you almost never provide an edit summary. Please consider? Thanks. - DVdm (talk) 10:46, 16 January 2012 (UTC)

I nearly mistook your edit of Talk:Stephenie Meyer for vandalism. In some cases, using an edit summary will avoid this kind of misunderstanding. Elizium23 (talk) 03:37, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

Rankings and reception section[edit]

Re: this. Just thought I'll let you know that consensus is not to create an empty reception section for the ratings table. Instead, if a section does not exist, the table should be put right after the infobox, see documentation at {{Album ratings}}. Best regards. --Muhandes (talk) 12:09, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

Edit summaries.[edit]

Please use edit summaries, without them it is nearly impossible to judge the spirit in which you are making changes. For example, your change to Paul the Apostle. How did the article benefit from your revision, and what purpose did you serve changing "Fourteen" to "14"? I reverted it for the sake of consistency, but according to WP:ORDINAL it really doesn't matter. Adding edit summaries makes things a bit easier on everyone and only take a minute to fill out, so please use them. Cheers, HMman (talk) 19:32, 1 February 2012 (UTC)

Your recent edit to Talk:History of persecutions by Christians[edit]

Tony MacAlpine[edit]

Hi there, it would be helpful if you included a description of your changes in the edit summary. Some of them, such as your most recent one, leave me wondering "Well, why the change? What was wrong with it before?" In the end it helps other editors to see why something has been changed. Mac Dreamstate (talk) 12:40, 26 March 2012 (UTC)

Nomination of 2012 in UFC events for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article 2012 in UFC events is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2012 in UFC events (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. ScottMMA (talk) 09:54, 25 April 2012 (UTC)

This user is promoting vandalism WP:VAN and is actively pursuing the deletion of pages per WP:WITCHHUNT. Hey, when you're leaving comments on talk page, please try to use indentation to help make it easier to follow the discussion. All you have to do is prefix each paragraph with a colon (or multiple). Regarding your voting and the change of stance[edit]

Dear Portillo!

As I have noticed on this page, Deletion Sorting Page, all of your current votes, all Delete, has these comments:

  1. "Fails routine, fails coverage, fails notability, fails everything." - stated one time
  2. "Fails routine or something like that." - stated four times
  3. "Some editors dont like UFC and I think we should do what they say." - stated four times

I don't mind the votes, but I have noticed an sudden turn of your stance.

Taking a look at this page, Article Alert Archive, and taking a look at the discussions that followed, I found quotes like this: "Plenty of reliable sources for notability.", with a vote as Keep.

On May 5th, you voted Keep with this comment: "Per witch hunt and personal agenda.".

Same date, "Editors who know nothing about UFC or MMA are trying to ruin the coverage of UFC on Wikipedia." (Diaz vs Mille (2nd nomination), Keep Vote)

But also on the same date, Johnson vs McCall (2nd nomination), this time around you voted for Delete with the comment: "Mtking does not like UFC and I think we should all do what he or she says.", and as far as I can see, all subsequent votes from you has been Delete.

My concern to all this is NOT your voting OR your argument for voting, but that you are, dare I say it with great respect, that you are trolling. And if by any chance you do, could you please reconsider your stance? By "troll voting", you are not contributing to the on-going debate, rather the opposite, I'm afraid. Mazter00 (talk) 13:57, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

I LOLed. Agent00f (talk) 23:16, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for your message. I dont really see the point of voting or finding a consensus on the UFC article deletions anymore. If the editors dont get the outcome they desire, they delete or merge it anyway. Your right, I was probably being a trouble maker. Portillo (talk) 07:47, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

Comment at 2012 in UFC talk page[edit]

As you were quite insistent on having the posters in the 2012 article (no offence intended, but I did see you posted the same [valid] question twice in 24 hours), I thought I should notify you that I have left a note about the request at the last questioning of it. In short, I agree, there should be no problem with a FUR for use in the article, but I think it should be restricted to events without articles, as the stand alone articles will have them. --kelapstick(bainuu) 08:50, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

UFC 2[edit]

I'm quite confused. You have been arguing for the longest time in favor of keeping MMA articles. You suddenly started doing your troll votes to AfD's. Now you've nominated UFC 2 for deletion. I want to ask you up front: do you honestly believe that UFC 2 does not meet the standards you listed at AfD, or are you disrupting Wikipedia to prove a point? Ishdarian 09:45, 31 May 2012 (UTC)

They are not up to standards. Some of these articles only have two sources. If were going to delete and merge UFC events into omnibus articles then we better start now before this gets dragged on for the rest of the year. Portillo (talk) 10:37, 31 May 2012 (UTC)

UFC deletion debates[edit]

Since nearly all of these hardly had any discussion on the actual notability of the subject (and since they were well overdue - clearly many admins are steering well clear of the subject, and I can hardly blame them), I have closed all of them (apart from a couple that were clear Keeps) as No Consensus. I would suggest these aren't nominated again until a clear consensus on the applicability of WP:NOT#NEWS, WP:ROUTINE and WP:SPORTSEVENT as they relate to MMA events is gained, with the input of a wide range of the community. UFC AfDs[edit]

I noticed you have nominated many UFC articles for deletion, but have listed them separately. If you are using the same rationale across the articles for deletion, this is unnecessary. In future, please nominate multiple articles under a single AfD, as set out in the procedures here. - Mailer Diablo 10:52, 6 July 2012 (UTC)

Paris Hilton[edit]

Hi, I have reverted all the massive changes on the Paris Hilton article. I hope you agree with me that all such massive changes has to go trough the talk page to reach consensus first. I am not comfortable with the previously heavy edited version as it seem to be unproductive and somewhat misleading in concerns of Hiltons actual career. And it read more like a gossip magazine then a Wikipedia article to be honest. Hope you see my point. Cheers.--BabbaQ (talk) 13:55, 18 July 2012 (UTC)

Punctuation[edit]

Re adding punctuation to picture captions, as at St Mary's Cathedral, Sydney.

  • A sentence requires a punctuation mark to finish it. A caption doesn't, unless the caption is a sentence.
  • A sentence has a subject and a verb.
  • Captions just name and describe.
  • The main types of structure that you encounter on wikipedia that are not sentences and do not need verbs are titles, headings, picture captions and list items (as in dot-point items).
  • So "Statue of Our Lady, help of Christians at St Mary's" should not have a full-stop.
"This statue of Our Lady, help of Christians was a gift to the cathedral" should have a full stop.

Proposed deletion of The Simpsons: Access All Areas[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article The Simpsons: Access All Areas has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A search for reliable, secondary sources reveals an insufficient amount of significant coverage. This article fails Wikipedia's notability guidelines for films.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ANI[edit]

Hello. There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. Dougweller (talk) 09:59, 12 October 2012 (UTC)

October 2012[edit]

Your recent editing history at Alessandro Del Piero shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. WikiProject Skateboarding[edit]

Skateboard-cast-broken leg-690475-l.jpg

Howdy! I'm getting in contact with those members of WikiProject Skateboarding who seem to have been recently active on Wikipedia generally.

The project seems to have been fairly inactive over the last year or so and I was wondering if anyone in particular would have any interest in helping me "re-activate" it?

If you still have an interest in the Project and/or an interest in a bit of a Project-related editing drive, let me know.

Regarding Countach replicas[edit]

I am replying to your question about Countach replicas here, because I am not sure that the discussion will help to improve the article on the Countach.

In the United States, in order for a replica or a kit car to get around the safety and fuel economy requirements for new cars, it must need at least some assembly, probably including the installation of the engine. Unless I'm mistaken, these requirements vary from state to state. I'm also not sure what the requirement for emissions are; those are very likely to have gotten stricter in the past few years. Mick Foley[edit]

Hey Portillo (talk), the Foley family were living in a Florida condo when that episode of Wife Swap was filmed in 2011, but in Collette Foley's notes she talks about how her family was getting prepared to move back to New York state (the episode aired about a year ago); and they currently live in New York state. The ref that you added however does verify the ages of the Foley children, so the "citation needed" tag can be removed now. Evenrød (talk) 06:55, 7 March 2013 (UTC)

Dear Portillo, could you please check the talk page of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robby_Robinson_(bodybuilder) and help to achieve fairness in materials put on article about Robby Robinson? I would like to hear your opinion if you also support that within a couple of days an article about a famous bodybuilding legend turned out into an article about a ... I do not even have words. All the previous contributions were deleted, not only those from me, and new ones are presented so misleading that people who know Mr Robinson and his life and achievements will never believe this is an article about him. Speedy deletion nomination of Bruce Straley[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Bruce Straley requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 09:35, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

Andrey Kashechkin photo?[edit]

Hi - I just edited Andrey Kashechkin to include an image in the infobox, and it's of him in Astana team colors, but is a six-year old image! There are, I think, five images of "Kash" in wikimedia commons we could draw on: the one Astana shot and then four Lampre pics. The Lampre ones are higher-resolution and one of them is quite well-composed imo, but of course Kash no ride for dem nomore! Can you help me on Kash's talk page discover consensus: should we use the old Astana image, or a nicer, newer Lampre image, even though he's not on Lampre anymore?

Let me know your thoughts! Grazie! Azx2 19:04, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

Z40[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your contributions. I noticed that you've been copyediting part of the intro of Miguel Treviño Morales's article where it said "Widely regarded as a violent and dangerous criminal..." All of this information is cited on paragraph three of his Rank ascension. Maybe we can discuss what you think is better and find common ground. Thanks again, ComputerJA () 06:15, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

Hi, thank you for your post. I have a bit of a problem with "widely regarded", it almost sounds like he is being praised. I would prefer something like, "a violent and dangerous criminal..." or even "considered to be a violent and dangerous criminal...". Portillo (talk) 10:04, 19 July 2013 (UTC)
In that case, I think it should be "considered a violent and dangerous criminal" because "a violent and dangerous criminal" is simply an assertion; he is regarded as violent and dangerous by the press and by the government, and that should be pretty clear. Thanks for your interest in the subject. Happy editing, ComputerJA () 05:15, 21 July 2013 (UTC)

Football/Soccer[edit]

Hi Portillo! I'm curious about the changes you are making - your comments from earlier in the year suggested you were in favour of changing from football (soccer) to soccer, but you seem to be going the other way. It is a contentious issue, and I can see a need for consistency, but it may be worth discussing which direction we should go in. - Bilby (talk) 02:19, 29 December 2013 (UTC)

Would you be willing to take a break from these changes, and seeing if the community can arrive at an agreed single term? At the moment, "Australian footballer" seems confusing to readers, as it suggests "Australian football (Australian rules) player", rather than "Australian who plays football". I'm not sure if the best approach is to accept that some readers will be confused, reword to "Australian who plays football", or go with "Australian football (soccer) player" or some other variant. But it seems that the community will need to make a call at some point, even if only as a temporary fix. :) - Bilby (talk) 03:08, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
I'm in agreement with Bilby here, why are you making such large and controversial changes without discussion? If you continue, it could be viewed as disruptive and may lead to a block. GiantSnowman 10:32, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
Oh, and your changing of the target article from association football to football (soccer) definitely needs to stop. I don't know why you are replacing a direct link with a redirect? GiantSnowman 10:35, 29 December 2013 (UTC)

While many of us are in disagreement with the term soccer in Australia on widespread grounds, vandalism does not help promote the cause and may in the end be detrimental --Orestes1984 (talk) 06:25, 30 December 2013 (UTC)

Reverting the changes[edit]

Hi. Based on the discussion at AN/I, I've had to revert your changes. I agree fully that the current state of affairs, where there is no consistency in naming, is not a good approach. I'm hoping that the community can reach a decision as to how to proceed. The problem is that a large-scale unilateral change was always going to be controversial, as I'm sure that you expected, especially when it favours one side of the debate over the other. By reverting the changes, I'm using the same attitude as the "wrong version" when protecting articles - I don't think the current state is the right one, but whatever wording we use is going to be an issue. Certainly, I'l like to encourage you to engage in debate at Talk:Soccer in Australia, but you should avoid large scale unilateral changes until some sort of consensus emerges. - Bilby (talk) 03:28, 2 January 2014 (UTC)
