WikiProject India Tag & Assess 2012 Contest[edit]

Hello friends, we are a number of editors from WikiProject India have got together to assess the many thousands of articles under the stewardship of the project, and we'd love to have you, a fellow member, join us. These articles require assessment, that is, the addition of a WikiProject template to the talk page of an article, assessing it for quality and importance and adding a few extra parameters to it.

As of March 11, 2012, 07:00 UTC, WikiProject India has 95,998 articles under its stewardship. Of these 13,980 articles are completely unassessed (both for class and importance) and another 42,415 articles are unassessed for importance only. Accordingly, a Tag & Assess 2012 drive-cum-contest has begun from March 01, 2012 to last till May 31, 2012.

If you are new to assessment, you can learn the minimum about how to evaluate from Part One of the Assessment Guide. Part Two of the Guide will help you learn to employ the full functionality of the talk page template, should you choose to do so.

You can sign up on the Tag & Assess page. There are a number of awards to be given in recognition of your efforts. Come & join us to take part in this exciting new venture. You'll learn more about India in this way.

Tag & Assess suggestions[edit]

Hello Prav001!
Just accidently came across your assessments of the few articles and had suggestions for improvement.

  • Please add as many other projects as you can add. For example in Talk:Hasan Abidi you can easily add WikiProject Pakistan. Also edit the class and importance for other projects than just India. For same example of Hasan Abidi, the WikiProject Journalism will also have class=start. Leave the importance if you are not sure of it. But class would be same for all projects. Go through the Guide 2 to know more about various other things that can be added. You are doing the assessment manually without help of any Bot and hence you can easily include these other parameters.
  • Talk:Aman ki Asha: Why is this song of High Importance to WikiProject India? Its not our National Anthem. Its just a song which i guess they dont even show on TV now and must have aired for a year or so. I would give it low importance.
  • Talk:Adi Shankaracharya (film): This film won National Film Award for Best Film thus making it the Best Indian Film of that year. Its cinema importance should be mid or top. India importance will be still low.

If in doubt ask me or the coordinators ssriram_mt (talk) and AshLin (talk) or any of the editors in the drive who have huge score. They wont mind it. -Animeshkulkarni (talk) 11:20, 12 March 2012 (UTC)

Assessments[edit]

Hello, I noticed that you have made quite a few assessments in the tag & assess drive. However, I find some of them to be quality assessments much more than what the articles deserve. I would like to request you to read Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Assessment and see the examples provided on that page; and review your assessments once. Thank you for your contributions to WikiProject India. Regards--Siddhartha Ghai (talk) 22:47, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

You may also want to see Wikipedia:WikiProject_India/Assessment#Quality_scale for assessment examples of India-related articles.--Siddhartha Ghai (talk) 22:52, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

Hi, Thanks a lot for your participation in Tag and Assess. Please have a look at the guidelines for assessment. A poorly referenced article like Andhra Pradesh Sampark Kranti Express should be at max be start and not C. Ssriram mt (talk) 00:19, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for April 6[edit]

Hi. When you recently edited Tezz, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Shaan (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Speedy deletion declined: Joy Senior Secondary School[edit]

Hello Prav001. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Joy Senior Secondary School, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A7 does not apply to schools. Thank you. Tikiwont (talk) 18:55, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

August 2012[edit]

Hello, I'm Zeeyanketu. I wanted to let you know that I undid one of your recent contributions, such as the one you made to Bol Bachchan, because it didn't appear constructive. Dont add boxoffice numbers with a source other than boxofficeindia because it is recommended. Thanks! --Zeeyanketu 20:03, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Bioterrorism may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.
