Car-free places[edit]

Re [1] - I'm interested to know if you're aware of the NPOV issues regarding the use of the word China, and the way the political status of Hong Kong should be dealt with. — Instantnood 22:15, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

What are the links? I think my car-free places posting was with a NPOV, but I'm not certain. Perhaps we or you should put in a group, Asia, and then Hong Kong, and take away the word China. I don't care much about that. My intent was to insert Discovery Bay as a 'car-free place.' Rauterkus 23:07, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

History of Pittsburgh - request for collaboration[edit]

I've put a lot of additional work into this article, based on feedback from when it was a Featured Article Candidate. Also updated the maps to give them a more standard appearance. I'm going to submit the article for peer review and then FAC again. Before I do, though, I need some help from the WikiProject Pittsburgh. Please take some time and help with these tasks:

  1. improve the article with changes, additions and deletions
  2. some stern proof-reading, please
  3. give it a quality/importance rating at Talk:History of Pittsburgh
  4. leave feedback at Talk:History of Pittsburgh

Thanks. I'll be leaving this note at the talk pages of the project members who have been most active in Pittsburgh-related articles. Tomcool 14:43, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Wikipedia: WikiProject Swimming[edit]

Hi there, Ive recently joined the WP:WikiProject Swimming team. Im committed to getting on top of the project. Since you have listed yourself as a participant i thought i'd let you know what i've done. Ive got a bot thats going through the relevant catagouries that apply to the project and tagging them with our banner. Ive done all the stub class articles and assessed them automaticlly, and im starting on the 3000 other articles that ive identified. So this will mean that we will have all the articles in the scope of the project together and we can start working on them. So if you have any spare time theres going to be thousands of articles that will need assessing. There are around 2000 articles Just in Stub-Class swimming articles, and most of these will need the importance assessed. I think it's important we get all this assessing done, so we can start working on the articles.

Don't fell pressured to start assessing articles, i just thought that since theres going to be so many articles, you should know that theres heaps of work that needs to be done, ill be trying my best once my exams are finished. Remember many hands make light work.

Your Beijing Pictures[edit]

I've got some public domain photos I took (and perhaps some video) of both whitewater kayak and whitewater canoe (same day) from the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Would they be of help here? Rauterkus (talk) 23:48, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

The article Shunyi_Olympic_Rowing-Canoeing_Park could use one or two still shots, preferably a wide angle shot that shows the layout of the course. Could you upload some on Wikimedia Commons? HowardMorland (talk) 13:39, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Ron Morris (entrepreneur)[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

A tag has been placed on Ron Morris (entrepreneur) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 15:43, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

Holy cow. It took less than 1 minute to get a deleted page. I was typing in the content. I'll use the hangon tag next time.

Ron Morris (entrepreneur) is an American entrepreneur from Pittsburgh, PA, USA who has moved beyond his business ventures into teaching at Duquesne University as well as hosting a business talk radio show called The American Entrepreneur.
