Review Request[edit]

Hello, I have recently made significant changes to the main article of Jainism and have listed it for peer-review. I would like your opinion on it. Rahuljain2307 (talk) 14:45, 24 November 2012 (UTC)

DYK for Dev Deepawali (Varanasi)[edit]

The DYK project (nominate) 08:02, 28 November 2012 (UTC)

Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page). ==Ekadashi and Shakthipeet articles==

In fact I also thought of writing to you to get it posted for that day. It is fine. Also see now Shivaharkaray or Karavipur. As far as Varuthini Ekadashi is concerned I could not find much in the google books. There was in one book a mention of the Vamana being the god worhsipped on this day, but I am unable to open those pages in J.Melton's book. I am sure with your very rich libarary will be able to find more to add. Thanks.--Nvvchar. 08:17, 28 November 2012 (UTC)

I did extensive search on Varuthani Ekadashi and came to the same conclusions. I thought may be you have more books in your personal collection which could provide some link to Vamana. Now you are confirming that there is nothing available to link the ekadasi to Vamana, please finalize the article without an img of Vamana in the infobox. It it long enough for a DYK? The other subjects mentioned by you are also interesting. Right now, as suggested by you earlier, I have started Tulasi in Hinduism. As a Vaishnavite it has special importance for me. On the Shakthi Peetha article, I have started on one more in Pakistan Shivaharkaray or Karavipur. I hope you can add more and also find a picture of Mahishasuramardhni which can fit the infox. We could do two more of the peethas in Bangladesh, one in Srilanka also.--Nvvchar. 12:48, 28 November 2012 (UTC)

That is nice. Now probably you could restore the img and use it with additional referenced text for hook.--Nvvchar. 13:04, 28 November 2012 (UTC)

I started info box on Hinglaj Mata on 18th but the actual addition was started on 27th, due for nom on 1st December. I am naming the article Vishvaruap as Vishvarupa Darshan and Tulsi as Tulsi in Hinduism. Let me know your views.--Nvvchar. 10:21, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

Yes, I will nominate it. What about Shivaharkaray? I could not locate any more references on the subject. Is it all right to nominate it at this level of text?--Nvvchar. 10:18, 1 December 2012 (UTC)

  • I have edited Tulsi in Hinduism further with references which were left out by oversight. Today is the last day for nomination. Can it be nominated today with a suitable hook. Thanks.--Nvvchar. 07:55, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the nomination. I will work on Vishvarupa Darshan soon. You may like to suggest some book references, apart from the Puranas.--Nvvchar. 06:28, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
I have completed these two articles today, Gundicha Temple and Anantashayana Vishnu. SidSahu is also collboarating. You may like to edit and add. There is time for DYK.
  • Thanks for suggesting references to be used in the Gundicha Temple article. Reference to the history of Narasimha is probably not relevant as the Narasimha temple is another district of Sonar and Sidsahu confirms that this reference is not relevant to Gundicha. Hence, I have added from the other three references and completed my inputs. You may like to add more and edit.--Nvvchar. 08:50, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
  • I suppose Rath Yatra is held wherever Jagannath Temples have been built. I am skeptical since there is no mention of King Indradyumna is this reference. I have gone by what Sidsahu who is from Orissa feels about it. I have no problem if you wish to include it.--Nvvchar. 15:03, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
Sorry about the confusion, my friend. We have done so many articles together and such an error has happened for the first time. Sidsahu appeared to be in a great hurry to nominate it and I realised it only when he posted it on the DYK. I corrected the hook also as Sahu appears to be new to the DYK nomination procedure. I made a note of this on sidsahu's talk page. Please add an alt hook and also your name to the credit list. It is always nice to include your name in the list. Thanks.--Nvvchar. 11:33, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
Sidsahu has also confirmed on my talk page. Please go ahead and suggest the Alt Hook with the new image. I will the your name to the credit list. --Nvvchar. 15:22, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
  • I have completed my inputs to Vishvarupa article. I have fixed imgs in the sections. You are welcome to change them. I would be glad if it is posted as an independent article rather than a double with Ekadashi article. It will draw lot of attention. I wonder why nobody wrote on it in the past. It also needs to be fixed properly in the disambiguation page. Thanks.--Nvvchar. 05:27, 9 December 2012 (UTC)

Two articles?[edit]

I am unable to figure out difference between these two articles Murugan and Kartikay. Aren't they supposed to be same? §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 11:46, 30 November 2012 (UTC)

Sorry i couldn't look into it much deeper. I still am unclear of the differences. Is it just that both are attributed separately by different text? But both are basically same, right? Shiva and Parvati's first son?
I simply wanted to point it out to you as you would easily be able to take care of it, by merging or splitting, as you now say. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 06:43, 7 December 2012 (UTC)

I liked the article. Very grueling punishments for variety of misdeeds. Some punishments are really imaginative, like the one involving sea of semen! I have completed Dattatreya Jayanti. I am bit confused about Vishnu Vaikunta article since there is already an article on Vaikunta. I was thinking of Vishnu Chaturdashi observed in the month of Kartik in Varansai, which is also observed by GSBs of Maharashtra.

I have also started Maricha and Kaurwaki. You may like to add. I have also asked Dr. Blofeld to join for these two articles--Nvvchar. 16:42, 12 December 2012 (UTC)

  • Fine. I did not find any book references to Kaurwaki and wahtever are there talk about Kareena Kapoor and Ashoka (film). Yes, I mean Vaikuntha Chaturdashi. I will start on it today. Can I use the GSB site reference? Sidsahu wants Ranganatha to be expanded to 5x and he has given three references. Would you like to join on this article? Yes, there is problem with the expansion of Anantashayana Vishnu; short by about 1300 ch. Can't find any additional references. Any suggestions on that?--Nvvchar. 10:10, 13 December 2012 (UTC)
I have started Vaikuntha Chaturdashi. you may like to add to it. Will you please nominate Maricha and Datta Jayanti. Today is the last date.--Nvvchar. 03:02, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
Dr. Blofeld has not shown any interest in it.--Nvvchar. 03:09, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
I have added some text to Anantashayana Vishnu. Please if adds to 5x requirement aince I don't have the toll to check it. Also pl suggest an alternate hook if the length of the article satisfies the DYK requirements. Actually I started Maricha expansion of the 11th. I am unable to sit even due to severe chest condition. I will reply tomorrow morning. Thanks.--Nvvchar. 16:10, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Thanks for the revised hookAnantashayana Vishnu. I hope the DYK will go through now. I have also addressed the reviewcomments of the reviewer on Vimala Temple GA nomination. Except that I could not locate one reference "that Vimala was installed here, even before Jagannath in the central shrine." With changaes Maricha looks fine now. If you have time please see if Ranganatha as expanded by me and User:sidsahu is worth posting on DYK. Thanks.--Nvvchar. 07:42, 16 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Thanks for the kind inquiry. I am much better than yesterday. Winter is always a problem for me at my age. On Ranganatha, that is exactly what I thought and before nominating sought your advice. I hope sidsahu will be able to move it. By the way Ananta Chaturdashi could be expanded. The present article has absolutely no references. Hence, expanding by 2x should be eligible for DYK. What is your view?
  • Fine. Can we not fit a cropped image in the hook after deer, that is in the infobox? I have cropped it and removed the text part of it in Urdu.--Nvvchar. 16:19, 16 December 2012 (UTC)
Will you have a look at this Vaikuntha Chaturdashi? It is due for posting on DYK tomorrow. What about Anant Chaturdashi?--Nvvchar. 11:19, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
I have done most of the work. Why not start as a new article as Ananta Chawdash! --Nvvchar. 04:49, 18 December 2012 (UTC)

I am surprised that this Mokshada Ekadashi with a nice picture did not find the lead in the DYK for tomorrow.--Nvvchar. 10:28, 22 December 2012 (UTC)

  • I have completed my inputs to Vaikuntha Chaturmurti. On Nimbaraka section of Four Kumaras, I have changed the section heading to Sampradaya. I checked with Nimbarka Sampradaya article where there is section on Four Kumaras. I could not locate the book references or puranic texts (no url). Varaha[edit]

Nome'd at Template:Did you know nominations/Varaha. You are welcome to suggest an Alt Hook and img. Thanks.--Nvvchar. 23:29, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

The above may need an alt Hook as per the reviewer. You may like suggest. You may like to add and edit this Varahanatha Temple (Jajpur).--Nvvchar. 10:19, 8 January 2013 (UTC)

Please this reference [1] where it is stated in one of book clippet that "It is thus evident that Varahanatha had already attained celebrity in the first half of the ninth century A.D. As such construction of the original temple of Yajna-Varaha at Jajpur may be ascribed to the Bhaumakara period. However, the existence ..." There are such clippets where it is said that the Yagna Varaha Temple is different from the Varahanatha Temple. Hence, merging the two may not be appropriate. However I have expanded the article. I have also expanded the article on Kankalamurti--Nvvchar. 10:09, 9 January 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for nominating Kankalamurti. Hook is good. I have started working on Panchakanya. Are these sources acceptable [2],[3] and [4]

[5]. I will also do Ashtabharya. Both are very interesting subjects which the inernational community should read about.--Nvvchar. 16:44, 10 January 2013 (UTC)

Your requested move of Thiruvengadam Temple[edit]

I declined this request as a technical move, since the question seems to be disputed. Can you please join the discussion at Talk:Thiruvengadam Temple#Requested move and explain your reasoning? I actually don't understand which was the old and which was the new name. Which one do you favor? User:Eshwar.om has made some comments on the talk page but he is very hard to understand. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 19:11, 9 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi, and thanks for looking at my article. I'm not sure what QPQ means, as I've been a bit out of the DYK loop for over a year. I assume it's quid pro quo? Jack1956 (talk) 11:28, 10 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Vimala Temple[edit]

It is GA - congrats. I have added alt to the images. Ssriram mt (talk) 23:24, 17 January 2013 (UTC)

There are not many temple related GAs, especially for Kalingan and Dravidian styles. This article would definitely be base for other articles. Ssriram mt (talk) 23:26, 17 January 2013 (UTC)

Yes, I saw that. That's fine. I was unsure about the fluidity of the text, so had to take the second opinion. Sorry for the trouble. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 15:45, 18 January 2013 (UTC)

Paresh Mokashi[edit]

If you get a chance, can you take a quick glance over the article? I am planning to take it for GA but just wanted to have an informal review. Also, you are the only one currently I know who can read sources in Marathi. Let me know if article has got any issues. - Vivvt • (Talk) 04:34, 22 January 2013 (UTC)

Mokashi was the director as well as producer for the film. That is the reason, all the awards for best film are listed here. Other awards for the film are not mentioned in the article. - Vivvt • (Talk) 17:41, 26 January 2013 (UTC)
Nothing much known about wife, besides she's also a writer-actor. No info about parents was found altogether. Regarding broad coverage, I have added "Other work" section which also includes info about lot seminars and discussion he had attended till now. - Vivvt • (Talk) 05:08, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

Mother India[edit]

To Dr Blofeld and Redtiger, guys, I feel it's time we ready Mother India for an FAC. What do you think?--Dwaipayan (talk) 23:13, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

yes let's go for a pr first. Would you mind putting it on pr? I have put one article (Independence Day) in pr, and I think it's better if you put it on pr.--Dwaipayan (talk) 15:18, 26 January 2013 (UTC)
Hi. Here is an apology. I was editing the article at the article, and had edit conflict with you. I had to edit over your edits, as I had done several edits at one go. Please pardon me. Please continue your edits. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 06:16, 2 February 2013 (UTC)
Bye the way, we are lucky to have the article reviewed by Crisco, He is a pro in FACs. i hope the article will be ready for FAc soon :)--Dwaipayan (talk) 06:19, 2 February 2013 (UTC)

Ganesha[edit]

Yes, I am thinking of the following. I have read the abridged version of Panchakanya. --Nvvchar. 02:07, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

I have completed Ganapathi Temple, Idagunji to which you may like to add.--Nvvchar. 16:30, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the nomination. I can not move the Panchkanya (five heroines of the epic) as it does not open in the dab page. Pl check and if it opens then move the page from my sandbox and nominate. Pl see this Anegudde. Why not make crates a separate article for the temple? I am trying to create Ashtabharya as seven articles hook on my user pages. I hope to complete it this weekend.--Nvvchar. 17:44, 31 January 2013 (UTC)
We can also write on this Mookambika temple at Kollur provided you can resolve the issue of copy vio in the article. There is a beautiful img of the temple in the Kollur article.--Nvvchar. 11:11, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

You have any hook suggestion for the Panchakanya (Hinduism) article or you could nominate it.?--Nvvchar. 13:38, 2 February 2013 (UTC)

  • You must be wondering why I have not responded to your last message. I was trying to muster enough references and text on Ashtabharya articles. It has been a tough task as there are many conflicting names of wives of Krishna, their order, the legends, the number of their children and so forth. Still, I have been able to put together seven articles here User:Nvvchar/Bharya. For Bhadra and Laksana I could barely manage to find text. May be with your vast knowledge of Hinduism you would be able to find more on each for these articles. We could even do Satyabhama if we could find enough text. The present article has only one reference, which is also a dead link. One issue which you would be able to solve is in respect of imgs of Mitravinda, Bhadra, Naganjiti and Laksana. I have tried in flickr but could not find any.--Nvvchar. 14:25, 9 February 2013 (UTC)

Krishna reassessment[edit]

Just wanted to let you know that Krishna, an article with which you were previously involved, is up for reassessement. Your comments would be welcome--thanks for your work on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 03:55, 11 February 2013 (UTC)

Images in Mother India[edit]

I am afraid the image of Nargis in Humayoon would not be PD in US. Also, not sure about the poster of Aurat.--Dwaipayan (talk) 17:42, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

In that case, the image files should display the appropriate US-PD licensing tag explicitly. Otherwise, these would be questioned by reviewers.--Dwaipayan (talk) 14:34, 15 February 2013 (UTC)
Absolutely. Please go ahead, and request the editor. The more eyes it gets, the better.--Dwaipayan (talk) 15:56, 15 February 2013 (UTC)
I just read WP:FILMCAST. Having a cast section like the film ? could be good, in the sentence a line or two (or three) about the roles can be mentioned. However, Casting section already discusses the real-world context; so that should not be added in cast. I qwill go through the relevant portion of Chatterjee's book to add info.--Dwaipayan (talk) 06:14, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
We need to rev up the proceedings, if we wish to meet the deadline! I hope the requested editors have a look quickly.--Dwaipayan (talk) 11:49, 16 February 2013 (UTC)

Peer Review Request[edit]

Hello, If possible, please do a review of the article on Mahavira. I have listed it for review at Wikipedia:Peer_review/Mahavira/archive1. No one has replied there for, like a week and it may get archived without receiving a review at all. So any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.
