Topic ban and interaction ban[edit]

Per the result of this ANI discussion you are now subject to the following editing restrictions:

  1. You are indefinitely topic-banned from Artpop, Lady Gaga and related articles.
  2. You are subject to a mutual interaction ban with User:STATicVapor.

These restrictions have been logged at Wikipedia:Editing restrictions#Placed by the Wikipedia community, and violations will be subject to escalating blocks. These restrictions can be appealed on AN/ANI no sooner than 6 months after their implementation, i.e. September 12, 2014. — Mr. Stradivarius ♪ talk ♪ 06:38, 12 March 2014 (UTC)

Hello Reece. I see that before our exchange on my talk page yesterday you edited the article Machete Kills. Lady Gaga stars in this film, and the article is in the scope of WikiProject Lady Gaga, so it falls within the "related articles" clause of "You are indefinitely topic-banned from Artpop, Lady Gaga and related articles". As you are only just aware that you have been topic-banned, and as you might not have been clear as to the extent of the ban, I am going to just warn you this time. The next time I see you editing articles related to Lady Gaga, I will block you. It's best to stick to editing totally unrelated articles, as admins (myself included) are generally not lenient when editors try to test the limits of their topic bans. — Mr. Stradivarius ♪ talk ♪ 23:44, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
Oh, no, I wasn't attempting to test the limits at all. I just didn't think that a page for a movie in which she appears for a total of three minutes would constitute as off-limits. I'll avoid any pages at all related to her in the future. Reece Leonard (talk) 02:59, 16 March 2014 (UTC)

Mr. Stradivarius has blocked you for one month for socking with the AccuracyistheKey account. If you are caught socking again, I have no doubt that you will be indefinitely blocked. You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 month for abusing multiple accounts. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. I've blocked you for one month for using User:AccuracyistheKey to evade your topic ban. This is the most lenient block you could reasonably expect to get, given the circumstances. Other admins may have blocked for longer. You've worn out a lot of people's patience here, and the next block will be a lot longer, possibly indefinite. To avoid that, you need to do the following:

  1. Don't evade your block - that means no editing whatsoever for one month, from any account or IP address.
  2. Once your block expires, don't violate your topic ban, and don't evade it.
  3. Avoid using personal attacks, and try to work with other editors if you have a dispute with them, rather than simply reverting their edits. The key here is the phrase "work with"; this is all about cooperation.

Do all of that, and you should be able to have your topic ban lifted eventually. That will require you to build up trust with other editors, though, and that can take time. But it's a lot better than the alternative of "get yourself indefinitely blocked or banned", which is what will happen if you keep using sockpuppets and making personal attacks.

Note for reviewing admins: this block was based on a checkuser finding at SPI, so only checkusers will be able to review the technical evidence. — Mr. Stradivarius ♪ talk ♪ 16:29, 9 May 2014 (UTC)
