"Do not check for Dead Links" option for AWB

Trying to find a broken bracket can be tough with 10+ dead links. Instead of doing a feature request, I went ahead and did something stupid. I modified the AWB code... added a "do not check for dead links" item on the Options menu. AWB will display dead links if the option is not checked. Is this a good idea and if so, can I give you the changed code? I'm sure I didn't do it the best or most elegant way. Bgwhite (talk) 21:15, 19 May 2013 (UTC)

The best option would be a box similar to the "Auto changes skip options" where the editor can select/deselect Alerts. -- Magioladitis (talk) 21:47, 19 May 2013 (UTC)

AWB didn't add defaultsort to Kristian Chong. Bgwhite (talk) 07:58, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

Page isn't even in Category:Living people so I'm not surprised AWB won't detect that the page is about a person. Rjwilmsi 08:13, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
It does have the category: Year of birth missing (living people) Bgwhite (talk) 08:27, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
rev 9144 IsArticleAboutAPerson rules updated. Rjwilmsi 09:01, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
Found another one, Lee Tai-Young and Wang Huiwu. It has an infobox, persondata and birth/death cats. Did you want the code from above? If not I can move it to different spot and update AWB to lastest SVN version. Love to know why your talk page rarely shows up in my watchlist. Bgwhite (talk) 05:58, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
Pages with a Surname Clarification Template from Category:Hatnote templates for names use Full Name format, so no DEFAULTSORT needed. Rjwilmsi 09:43, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
This should not be the case. This will result in names being sorted in the wrong order. With no colon, Wikimedia treats "Wang Huiwu" as one word and will sort it ahead of any names with a colon. Look at Category:Chinese communists, "Wang Huiwu" is the first Wang listed, but it should be third. Why? Because the other names use a colon. The only instances where your case is true is when a name has no surname or given name. Burmese, majority of Malaysian and some Ethiopian names would be examples. Bgwhite, all pages with a Surname Clarification Template need a common. Is that right? -- Magioladitis (talk) 16:28, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
All pages need a comma except for {{Malay name}} (Malaysian), {{Habesha name}} (Ethiopian), {{Indonesian name}} and {{Mongolian name}}. Normally {{Icelandic name}} wouldn't need a comma, but per "decree" at WP Iceland, they use western order for defaultsort. Bgwhite (talk) 18:04, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
Can you please update WP:SUR to include all these cases? -- Magioladitis (talk) 18:47, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
OK. I see everything is in WP:SUR already. -- Magioladitis (talk) 18:54, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
