[edit] Laura Massey
Can you please explain why you deleted my article? I would like to compare my page to the alleged identical page that was deleted in the past. Cheers! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.189.222.242 (talk) 23:12, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
- The version posted by user:Agentostrich (you?) was almost word-for-word identical to the version deleted on 4 Nov 2010 after the second deletion review discussion which was itself almost identical to the version deleted on 8 March 2010 after the original deletion debate. (See also the first deletion review discussion.)
The youtube link to her dancing was new but that content was irrelevant to the issues which were raised in the AfD and affirmed in the DRV discussions.
If you have solid evidence that the situation has changed and that this subject now clearly meets Wikipedia's generally accepted inclusion criteria for biographies, I recommend that you draft the page in your userspace, source it thoroughly confirm the independence and reliability of the sources carefully, then seek extensive comments, perhaps even through a third DRV discussion before attempting to promote the page to the mainspace. That's a higher standard than we usually require for new articles but the contentious history of this subject effectively demands it. If you are willing to take that path, I will restore a version to your userspace so you don't have to start completely from scratch. Rossami (talk) 23:40, 21 April 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply Rossami. I had originally created the page in my userspace and the draft is still there. I just have trouble believing my article could be word-to-word identical to another page that I have never seen or read. If you have time, could you please read the draft on my userpage and provide some specific comments on how I could improve it? I know it's a lot to ask, but I would really appreciate the help. I want to do this right. Agentostrich (talk) 00:27, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
[edit] db-unpatrolled
Hello. In you edit summary when deleting Limb Lengthening methods, you said that the tag was applied in error. I thought that the only easy way to flush those kind of entries (as described in {{db-unpatrolled}} out of the log was to recreate and then delete them. Is there a better way? Suffusion of Yellow (talk) 02:01, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, no problem. I was just checking since I have been tagging quite a few articles that way recently. From the looks of Bugzilla:17463 it's going to be a while until they get this fixed. Suffusion of Yellow (talk) 02:23, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Please revert Equitable Tourism Options to Equitable Tourism Options (EQUATIONS)
Hi,
Alan Liefting had redirected Equitable Tourism Options (EQUATIONS) to Equitable Tourism Options on 1 April 2011. The title of the article was changed to the latter without the name in parenthesis. You had declined the speedy-deletion of the former article title providing the reason The corporate alias in parenthesis is also arguably not "implausible".
The name in parenthesis is important to the title as the non-profit organization in concern is recognized and referred to by both names, the complete name and their acronym in parenthesis. More importantly, the organization is also legally registered by the name Equitable Tourism Options (EQUATIONS) (including the name in parenthesis) under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act 1960[1]. Could you please help revert the Title of the article to Equitable Tourism Options (EQUATIONS)?
Thanks and Regards, I Eqs (talk) 06:29, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the speedy reply. I checked your post on the discussion page of the article. Thank you for taking it forward. I will discuss/elaborate my concern with the title of the article there. The rewording of my position on this article is fine. I am sorry about posting my concern on individual userpages, I was unclear on the guidelines on how to take this issue forward. Thanks and Regards, I Eqs (talk) 05:31, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Baltimore Community College Busy Bee Athletics hoax
I've restored the db-hoax tag to this article. There is no such community college anywhere in Ohio or in Region XII of the NJCAA athletic league. It simply doesn't exist. It's blatantly a hoax. A casual search in Google for "Baltimore Community College" turns up no site for such a school. More detailed searching shows it simply doesn't exist. --Hammersoft (talk) 19:26, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Wayne Gladstone
You reverted the page to redirect to the Gladstone disambiguation page, but there is no Wayne Gladstone on the disambiguation page. The Wayne Gladstone page should not exist. Please let me know what I need to do to have it deleted.Bluedaywriter (talk) 20:23, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
I would be inclined to agree with you if there were a page remotely similar to "Wayne Gladstone" in the wiki. It is not our work to speculate on mistakes future readers might make during searches and create redirect pages accordingly.
Regarding your statement: "More than that, however, there is a credible (though unsourced) allegation on Talk:Gladstone (humorist) that the subject's given name is, in fact, Wayne. If that assertion can be sourced, then the redirect will have to be reverted even further back to a direct connection to the humorist's biography. Whether an actor goes by a particular name or uses a pseudonym is irrelevant."
First, let me point out that the subject of Gladstone (humorist) is not an actor. Second, I would refer you to the Biographies of Living Persons page (excerpted below). Publicly connecting a pen name to a given name against that author's wishes-- when such a connection has not been made in a publisher's press release or by a credible journalistic source-- could certainly pose real harm to that author. Ms. Mortensen's connection to Ms. Monroe is well-substantiated and virtually common knowledge, and certainly will not harm her career at this stage. Living authors, however, often have "real" careers, i.e., day jobs, that may be adversely affected by a public connection to their off-hours authorial activities. We are encyclopedia writers and as such have responsibilities to subjects as well as readers. So say our guidelines. Bluedaywriter (talk) 23:04, 28 April 2011 (UTC)
"Biographies of living persons (BLPs) must be written conservatively and with regard for the subject's privacy. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a tabloid: it is not Wikipedia's job to be sensationalist, or to be the primary vehicle for the spread of titillating claims about people's lives, and the possibility of harm to living subjects must always be considered when exercising editorial judgment."
[edit] Il caimano
Hi again! Almost two weeks have passed now and nobody has opposed a move of Il caimano to The Caiman. Will you help me move it? Smetanahue (talk) 13:43, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
[edit] Page Deletion
I would like to inquire about a deletion on 19th April 2011 for the page "Edward Bass (Director)"
We would like to reinstate the page with new, verifiable content, and would like to make sure the page is not flagged again.
He is on IMdB and various social networking sites, and has been published in hundreds of news articles. He is a hollywood executive and we would like to rectify this asap. Please let us know if we can reinstate the Wiki page in a timely manner. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Edward.Bass01 (talk • contribs) 19:07, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
