City Articles - Reference for population estimates

Hi. You should quit adding the reference after the year on the "pop_est_as_of" field in the infobox of city articles, because of layout problems in the infobox. Instead put only the YEAR in that field and add another field called "pop_est_footnotes", see the following. (yes, I know this example has 2012 estimate instead of 2013). By the way, this is how I'm now reordering the fields as I clean up articles. • SbmeirowTalk • 21:46, 17 July 2014 (UTC)

|population_footnotes = [1]
|population_as_of = 2010
|population_total = 1210
|pop_est_footnotes = [2]
|pop_est_as_of = 2013
|population_est = 1174
|population_density_sq_mi = auto
|population_density_km2 = auto

Hi Sbmeirow, Thank for posting. Yes, I made edit in every city in some different states. I saw this "pop_est_footnotes". I saw that is User:JBradley Bot made edit in every city in many states in Northern United States. this edit. And User:Kennethaw88 made edit in every county in all over the United States. Total 3,143 counties. this edit. You see JBradley Bot's contributions and Kennethaw88's contributions. You live in Kansas. July 1, to 3, 2013 I went to Topeka. I live in North Dakota. Last month I made edit in all 357 cities in ND is finished. I use the Sandbox. If "pop_est_footnotes". --Rossdegenstein (talk) 21:33, 19 July 2014 (UTC)

City Articles - Website field

Please truncate the website URL into something more "pretty". For example, on your recent edit for Ord, Nebraska you should change "website = http://www.ordnebraska.com/" into "website = [http://www.ordnebraska.com/ ordnebraska.com]". If the domain is too long, then I'll use "City Website" as the text. Some people use the Official and URL templates, but I personally prefer the shorter truncated domain to prevent infoboxes from growing too wide on some URLs. • SbmeirowTalk • 21:55, 17 July 2014 (UTC)
