Images on Copa Airlines[edit]

Well, I'm not sure about the aircraft shown in the lower image. But I'm pretty sure images aren't low quality, though if you zoom on them, you may see then blurry.

The upper aircraft was a 200 since the windows are placed nearer to the door than on its counterpart, the 737 700.

message you left me in my page[edit]

I noted you left a message on my talk page, yeah, I'm thinking in correcting it. Thanks. Edgeweb 15:01, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, my source is kind of unoficcial, so I shall wait until a formal release.

This[edit]

this can surprise you, but I never edited the article, I promise I haven't do so.

For the moment yes I'm I don't have any problems with you but with your contributions. http://www.find-cheap-plane-tickets.com/air-travel-terms-dictionary.htm SEARCH FOR FLAG CARRIER

I know[edit]

I know, I just want you to understand that you are limiting the article, COPA is the flag carrier, its undeniable

Just like you[edit]

just like you post offensive messages on my talk page, I refuse until you read what I wrote, they aren't POV's they are facts.

I don't find what is disruptive, they aren't dubious origin info, that flag carrier info is from wikipedia itself, I could change but not until you give me an opportunity, there is still info before both of us started editing the article, I'm just saying that I can be any user and just cause I edit the same things that doesn't mean I'm myself.

Then did the next adds value[edit]

This what I wanted to go on the lead.

Copa Airlines, or COPA is the national flag carrier of Panama which flies to major destinations in North America, Central America, South America and The Caribbean, the airline headquarters are based in Panama City, Panama and has its hub at the tocumen international airport, It is the second largest Central American airline after grupo taca.

AGAIN ABOUT THE FLAG CARRIER: A transportation company, such as a shipping or airline company, that is registered in a given state. Example: "American Airlines, while a private firm, is a U.S. flag carrier." A state-run, state-owned or state-designated transport company or organization, specifically (though not universally required) showing the state flag apparent for public view (state in this context used to mean any principality or country). Example: "Air Canada is its namesake's flag carrier."

copa is a private firm, but is registered in the state and it flies the flag, so it is the falg carrier, or the de facto Flag Carrier. as you can see they call them flag carriers cause they carry the flag, if not then why are they called like that.

Another aircraft[edit]

Now you are the one with the problem since it still says in the website that they only have certain aircraft then who's the vandal now. cite your figures. Sorry I think I was kinda sleepy, but if you read this designation, you can find the definition, also, Copa is the country's only airline, and if copa isn't the flag carrier then who is, (no offense), but are countries without flag carrier, well here I cite you again.

If that's the case then read this info from the "Flag Carrier" article in wikipedia, and see the list below.

A transportation company, such as a shipping or airline company, that is registered in a given state. Example: "American Airlines, while a private firm, is a U.S. flag carrier." A state-run, state-owned or state-designated transport company or organization, specifically (though not universally required) showing the state flag apparent for public view (state in this context used to mean any principality or country). Example: "Air Canada is its namesake's flag carrier." 201.218.81.108 19:46, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

And please, try not to remove the images, and I ask you, your image says view of the hub of the americas, what the heck! they are copa aircraft at the airport tarmacs and it looks you don't know to pardon someone, since I placed the routes each aircraft type flies and you remove them, they have no official resources but they an be studied, you can go to copaair.com and pretend you are buying flights, search for the aircraft on each flight, you will see that they are organized in a pattern, and that an Embraer wouldn't likely fly to Rio De Janeiro, just like american airlines, they don't have their routes established but they wouldn't send a 738 from Australia to London Heathrow in a nonstop, that's different, you cannot only put what the page tells you but also what you think it will likely be, its called as long as I think, massive point of view, which I think is accepted on wiki. 216.130.161.111 01:04, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong and Correct[edit]

Well I see, however, some of your edits are also wrong as well.

First of all, Copa Airlines is one of American Airlines main enemies so that is true, also, American is in a hard ccompetition with copa airlines, so this facts are all accurate also, codeshare flights are counted as destinations so in total, they are 38 destinations.

Copa also offers red eye flights since I flew to JFK departing in 10:30 to 12:45 so those flights are real indeed.

And finally, Copa is indeed one of the most advanced airlines around the world so erasing this is incorrect.

hope this helps Cpzphantom 19:42, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok[edit]

I just remember that the flight departed at an hour, not sure and when I was in JFK the watch marked 12:35.

This is[edit]

Cpzphantom, it seems to me that you have not understood that the point of this whole site is to provide information on different topics with the same type of credibility as an encyclopedia. Here are a few comments in italics on what you posted on my user talk. I'm reproducing here what you posted on my user talk with a few comments:

Well I see, however, some of your edits are also wrong as well.

First of all, Copa Airlines is one of American Airlines main enemies so that is true, also, American is in a hard ccompetition with copa airlines, so this facts are all accurate This is an opinion, not a fact. What do you mean by hard competition? Fleet size? Destinations? Passengers?, Actually in terms of service, performance and technology.

also, codeshare flights are counted as destinations so in total, they are 38 destinations. There you go again. Please, check Copa's press releases and you will find that they do not include codeshare flights as destinations. Codeshare flights to Newark and Houston are operated by Continental with Continental's aircraft. I think I saw a photo of Copa Airlines aircraft in houston, possibly only on hi demands situations?.

Copa also offers red eye flights since I flew to JFK departing in 10:30 to 12:45 so those flights are real indeed. Technically, Red-Eye flights operate from 9:30 PM to 5:00 AM, local time. Copa Airlines flights to JFK and LAX depart Panama around 7:30 PM and arrive at their destinations around 12:00-1:00 AM (given the time differences). They do not qualify as red-eye's. If you flew to JFK departing at 10:30 to 12:45, then you did not fly Copa! it was 12:35 pm, did red eye flights only are valid with the departing hour and the arriving hour and not only one of the two?

And finally, Copa is indeed one of the most advanced airlines around the world so erasing this is incorrect. Once again, opinion, actually, that's from the website itself.

I do not have a problem with you contributing. Just make sure to get your facts straight before posting wrong information. Schonbrunn 00:12, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Don't Know But,=[edit]

http://www.copaair.com/html/user/default.aspx?PageId=42

will this answer your question.

At least change them yourself[edit]

I found that Gulfstream International Airlines are indeed one of Copa Airlines partners, second of all, Copa indeed will open destinations to port of spain, just put them as Future destinations that's all and finally, Copa features award-winning services just like it's partner mexicana, so please, if I cannot correct this wrong edits, please correct them, all is on Copa Airlines webpage in About Us.

Just wanna enlarge this article and add more detailed info. and about the banner, it was just too big and gustavo rojas pinilla flies to two or more destinations so that explains why it is a focus city, but I think there are more to cover.

Copa's webpage also says the routes their aircraft operates so I'm correct.

Hope you correct the wrong edits, Peace. 200.75.242.211 18:40, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My edits are correct, I have all my facts are true, then edit this article yourself, you're the wrong one, you didn't know that Gulfstream International Airlines is a partner airline of Copa or that Copa has won prizes or even that an airport with two or more destinations is considered a focus city, you are the one who should give up. 201.224.23.176 02:35, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

well, the Mexicana airlines article says, Award-winning. see it for yourself and second of all, note that Gulfstream International Airlines if I cannot do something, do all that by yourself, they add, details, what if someone would wish to fly to Port of spain, giving this explanation will clear its mind and confirm him that he will be able to fly to POrt of spain soon, also, the article is too little and it looks like a stub, so you should enlarge it, An example will be Mexicana, American Airlines etc...

Something[edit]

Actually, Edcoan was not a sockpuppet, it was a friend of mine which I gave some notes, but I'm dowebs, also, I didn't intended to do any kind of damage here on wikipedia, I gave some info to Edcoan, but he decided to add that information all by himself, I never influenced him into doing something and he was quite new to wikipedia then, and Copa Airlines page is outdated, copa now has 38-40 destinations according to Copa's website, just start counting the destinations in the destinations drop down list in the main page, and look to the news about new boeing 737-800 on Copa's fleet, and, by the way, what does not add agregate value.

Cpzphantom- cpzphantom@hotmail.com

PS: I flew with Copa and gave edcoan a few notes about the airline, he added then unintetionally, so he doesn't deserve a block.

Still I have some...[edit]

There are three problems with several things.

1. I think nobody cares for the Copa Airlines article, I think more images and more info should be added in the main info on the top, also, what happened to images, no one has added or even cared on taking photos of Copa Airlines airplanes, the article is plain and will never receive a better rating on the scale.

2. there are three wrong facts about tocumen, 1. Copa indeed controls most of the air traffic in tocumen along with continental airlines, almost all the airport is full of Copa and continental airplanes; 2. tocumen is indeed the BUSIEST AIRPORT IN ALL Central America and the third and main international airport in Panama, and lastly, any airport offering transcontinental travels to europe is considered an intercontinental airport.

Several key info is needed to be provided on each article and Copa and Tocumen articles lack that credibility, if you correct the wrong facts on my Copa airlines edits, you'll see that ther is nothing bad in them, again, trying to help, but you don't care and where did you got all the knowledge of Copa, are you Panamanian or not.

Hi Schon, i received your message, i'm not an admin, i've been trying to fix the mess that Cpzphantom kid is doing in Wikipedia, especially to articles related Panama. That guy is a real pain in the sack... i'm tired of him, i've even emailed him asking him politelly to stop it, but he doesn't get it, what can we do? should we ask to block every page that dude tries to edit? --Metalclaus 21:06, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Will you care on explaining me what are considered unconstructive edits, if you tell me I'll stop posting them, since I don't know what is considered an unconstructive edit. literelly, will you explain me?

Cpz: Hey dude just use the common sense, if you lack it, then try not to post before discussing it with other persons, take in account that you have been blocked for all your horrible mistakes. Man, solo usa tu sentido comun, si no lo tienes trata de no postear antes de discutirlo con otros, pero toma en cuenta que has sido bloquiado por todos tus errores. --Metalclaus 22:18, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK[edit]

well, about the busiest, there is no example, ok that is ok, but about the other airport they are Marcos A. Gelabert and Enrique Malek International Airport, but, I think Marcos A. gelabert cancelled international flights to Costa Rica.

Ok so mentioning that all the aircraft in Copa's fleet feature winglets its unconstructive?

Finally[edit]

Thanks for adding images for the copa airlines article, still, more should be added, but its OK for now, you have our thanks and as I promised, I will leave the article in your hands. (but the logo is too big, shrink it a little.)

eh,[edit]

I'm not trying to be abusive or something this time but in those edits, will you care on indicating me what parts where disruptive and why did they were disruptive.

CpzPhantom[edit]

Hey this guy also targets Invasion of Panama article, i asked an Admin hor help over there but not much done. i'm worried about his insistence, it seems we are dealing with a retarded.--Metalclaus 15:13, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I heard that! and there should be a way we can end this rivalry.

What?[edit]

what was wrong, what didn't added no value, I said everything that is true, isn't publicitary and is fully legal and allowed then what's wrong?

It doesn't matter, as you can see this edits could be deemed as wrong or disruptive but they aren't, as you can see, those aren't POV's they are facts, if you quit them it would be vandalism as well, and I know, Wikipedia articles need proof, I understand that and I can find you right, sourced proof which says the truth and is official, but if you don't give me time I can't find something, give me time to at least search for this facts and give proof that my reasons here are not to do damage. If my english is not profficient, then how do you read it. please note that you are becoming a vandal to for erasing facts, but this can be fixed if I give you proof for the moment, but give me time to do this.

But, why did you erased those images.

True it is, the Langosto is a plague[edit]

He doesn't get that the only way to stop this "rivalry" is keeping himself out of Wikipedia. He's such a fool thinking that his modus operandi will work someday. CpzPhantom and friends (Edcoan, Dowebs, Kokaflores & Langosto): I wanted you all to read my comment... but not kidding, do you have any mental illness or are you just plain stupid? Schon: congrats for keeping that guy on a leash, i really apreciate your tenacity, we can't leave guys like that plaguing this community.--Metalclaus 04:01, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An Automated Message from Cpzphantom[edit]

Hey, I was just trying to help is writing carrier instead of airline is doing damage, I'm almost always a good person but you are making me a real vandal, I haven't do something that does damage, again, Copa has focus cities, In san andres, comalapa and several other airports, and the fleet, they don't have routes? or notes, or passenger distribution, you gotta be kidding, and WHAT DO YOU HAVE WITH THE IMAGES THEY BOTHER YOU, AND view of the Hub Of the Americas, that isn't the hub of the americas, that's A TARMAC AND JETWAYS at the hub of the americas, the only problem is that you don't care for the articles value, if adding, it holds partnership adds no value then the article will all of sudden become a stub, but duh it appears that I'm not only like a shadow, millions of persons and several friends have said things like, wikipedia is as reliable as a blind dog guarding a paper entrance, realy, not lying, I give you my word, and I tried to clean wikipedia's name but it appears that a person with different ideas than the rest of the public is a vandal.

Vandals defame an article and damage it by erasing info that is true and that doesn't either damage or improve the article, that in the book of style is called Neutral content that can be left in an article just to add extra info, I have seen vandalism examples, and my or, Edcoan edits doesn't even get near that fields, also, they do it simply cause they want to do damage, I do it cause I think is good to give people last minute info and to know the lastest releases and changes, believe me, at 19, I worked in several newsgroups being the best one for 3 times and in wikipedia they say my english is not proficient, I took ESL trainings and preparation.

I just wanted to leave my last message before I go away, Ok celebrate kids! Cpzphantom and Edcoan are going away from wikipedia, at least at Citizendium are more fellow. what a quering group.--Cpzphantom 18:10, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's cause you haven't done anything[edit]

Oh, come on, you know as well as me that all that info is all true, you think I will be editing stupidness, but I wasn't him, despite the fact that I knew him somewhere, he had a blogspot account, you are thinking on things that had nothing to do with the airline, or are you contrradicting the SAME AIRLINE PEOPLE search in the UK site he placed there, I read it, for nothing he pasted the description and he possibly killed himself searching all that info, check in the copaairlines.co.uk frontpage and you'll see how much you four are wrong, you says that his, my and our content is disruptive, I don't see what was disruptive, and I think he did what I did with the routes as well, he searched all the Copa flights and concluded that certain aircraft flies certain destinations, If i weren't him, I would simply have restored langosto edits, I would not search again for new info, and what the hell you have about images, why do you have about images?...— Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.218.70.157 (talkcontribs)

Now, you will request an admin to block any user who adds extra content you don't like to the Copa Airlines page, Copa isn't a normal Panamanian airline, IT IS THE NATIONAL FLAG AIRLINE OF PANAMA, I saw its edits and after seeing you reverting them I checked the history, checked its Talk page and I saw it was blocked as a sockpuppet, you are transforming wikipedia, from "The free encyclopedia that anyone can edit" to "the free encyclopedia were long articles are forbidden, why do you think it was disruptive, cause I made it? you want to hear something? I didn't made them, I fight for injustice and you are pushing this too far from that line, despite me being kind of similar when younger, I htne knew I should stop being like that, you tell me to get a life, get a life too.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.70.148.49 (talkcontribs)

LOL!!!! this guy is TOTALLY WACKO!!!, is he taking us for fools? --Metalclaus 23:16, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ha, ha I laugh at your ignorance, don't you get the article is wrong, if copa isn't the flag carrier, then who is?— Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.70.148.49 (talkcontribs)

whoooh finally, it looks you explained something plausible, but why isn't a state owned company a flag carrier, did you still know that American Airlines isn't state owned and they are the US flag carrier, and those focus cities necroneos mentioned aren't focus cities, he took them from one of my edits, but I saw that those destinations have flights to other airports too, you should add them, and did you know, by the way, data about the fleet, you know routes, notes and other things, well one, despite copa not having taken delivery of the new 737-800 it can still be mentioned that there are more of that aircraft on order and, for people not to misunderstood themseleves add that Mexicana broke the agreement, it also helps, as you said, wiki is not a newsgroup then place it, oh and one more thing, that image isn't the hub of the americas, the hub is the airport, not the aircraft and jetways, that's non valid info.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.218.81.108 (talkcontribs)

Example: "Air Canada is its namesake's flag carrier." 201.218.81.108 19:46, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Schonbrunn, here is a link that will finally prove you and the admins are wrong, no matter what you do, here is the link, depsite the fact is in spanish, use babelfish translation or make metalclaus translate it. read carefully the entire ENTIRE article, its from the governement so you can't negate it.

http://www.iaba.org/Law%20Review_Vol%204/LawReview_4_JPFabrega.htm

That document is nothing else that an essay from a Panamanian lawyer, it's not an official comunication and it only mentions Copa as a domestic airline. I thing there could be some debate about Copa as the de facto Panama flag carrier, because aircraft actually carry the flag in their fuselage, i thing Cpzphantom's POV is based solely on that fact.--Metalclaus 14:14, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That and the boldfaced data below:

A transportation company, such as a shipping or airline company, that is registered in a given state. Example: "American Airlines, while a private firm, is a U.S. flag carrier." A state-run, state-owned or state-designated transport company or organization, specifically (though not universally required) showing the state flag apparent for public view (state in this context used to mean any principality or country). A concern[edit]

Also, I am a bit concerned about the tone of diffs such as this[1]. Please avoid telling people to "leave" due to disagreement on pages or even due to their lack of civility on your talk page, if you can. Thanks in advance, Kukini hablame aqui 04:25, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just spent the past while reviewing it. I messaged each IP address (none of which were blocked) to ask for more civility in editing wikipedia. Do your best to continue your good efforts to add to our project and try to keep a thick skin with other editors. I have found that IP editors often can be the ones who bite the most and first, because they seem to feel more anonymous (which isn't true, exactly). Regardless, keep up the good work, read through the links I gave you and happy editing! --Kukini hablame aqui 04:39, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Summary Request[edit]

I have noted that you edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky or even vandalizing. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks! -- Kukini hablame aqui 01:46, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edited some of the content in Copa Airlines[edit]

Happy for my supposedly outdated material to be replaced, but only if you have referenced material - not just your opinion. What is your evidence that the dates quoted are wrong? If they are, replace and add the reference. Ardfern 19:09, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I took on board some of your suggestions and have added references. You could do the same for the new reference you added - it needs to be presented in a certain way - see Template:Cite web and Template:Cite news or just copy and paste what I used. Ardfern 19:35, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have added a reference in the Fleet section using the source you quoted - if you want to add more material or refs to the source just add [1] after the entry and it will refer to the source. Ardfern 20:04, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can you tell me what's going on at Copa Airlines? I see lots of mindless edit warring. --Cyde Weys 14:59, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed its mindless warring. If you need a judge, I got cousins and friends working at COPA (Pilots, engineers and administrative). Also, I'm panamanian. In Panama COPA is the Flagship carrier having codeshares with the SkyTeam Alliance (Delta, Continental etc). COPA stands for "COmpañia Panameña de Aviacion", Literally translated to "Panamanian Aviation Company". I see the facts have been placed so there is no reason to argue. It looks like someone was able to move the page back to the right name beforeI got to it. I'm watching Edgeweb and if he goes back to disruptive page moves he'll definitely be blocked, by me or another admin. Some of the moves are at least plausible, in that (for example) Chitré does not really have an English name (as per WP:UE), so it's probably more accurate to use the actual name in Spanish. Copa Holdings, S.A.[edit]

Well, you reverted the infobox in copa holdings, but, then, I wanna ask you something.

Copa Holdings, S.A. logo is not OK? from what I know, Copa Holdings logo changes around with Copa Airlines logo, for some reason, Aerorepublica also has that logo, if CPA's logo isn't Copa Airlines one, then Aerorepublica wouldn't had changed his, since they would be two different logo's. We may discuss that later.

Copa Holdings, S.A. was founded when Copa Airlines was founded, though not when it started operations, that could mean Copa Holdings was founded between 1944 & 1947, that depends.

Copa Cargo & Courier are divisions, they are Copa Airlines divisions, we may also include them since Copa Airlines is property of Copa Holdings, S.A.

I'm restoring the infobox only until further notice. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Edgeweb (talkcontribs) 15:30, August 27, 2007 (UTC)

Apologies...[edit]

I accidentally reverted your recent edit to Barack Obama using a twinkle Vandalism script. Your edit was not in any way vandalism, and I did not mean to identify it as such (or even to revert it). I have undone my edit and including a note of explanation/apology. Sorry! --Loonymonkey 00:04, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I blocked User:Cocoliras for violating WP:3RR not for vandalism. The user is clearly acting in good faith, not vandalizing, though they are going about it the wrong way. An indefinite block would be inappropriate. If the user continues to disrupt Wikipedia after the current block expires I am happy to issue further blocks. Gwernol 19:29, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
