Template for deletion[edit]

Friendly heads-up Imagemap is deprecated and nominated for deletion. It has been superceded by changes to the File namespace and I wanted to let you know, since you have a transclusion on your userpage or user talk. If you need to respond to this message, please do so on my talk. —Justin (koavf)TCM☯ 21:45, 9 March 2010 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Idee tineye logo.jpg[edit]

⚠
Thanks for uploading File:Idee tineye logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Cloudbound (talk) 22:52, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

Jack L. Rives[edit]

I see that you had previously written a draft of an article for Lt. Gen. Jack L. Rives, but I wanted to let you know that I wrote an article as well. I'd appreciate it if you could give it a read! Madcoverboy (talk) 20:40, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Translation request -- "Ich war ein Futurist!"[edit]

As a member of the WP:MUC language translation task force, I'd like to ask you for your assistance in a simple translation. I'd like to understand this Billy idol interview, "Ich war ein Futurist!". This isn't really related to Munich, but I have trouble finding editor's specifically willing to work with translations, so anyone who seems remotely interested would be of help to me. Specifically, I'd like to find out what content in it relates to the musician's 1993 Cyberpunk album, so that I could incorporate it into that article space. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated!--Cast (talk) 01:53, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

It means "I was a visionary" or something like that, maybe he meant it in the way he was looking to the future ... Maybe you ask someone who knows about his bio because this may be of importance to understand this statement. BTW The interview can only be read for registered users. --Scriberius (talk) 10:56, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
Pardon, I know what the article title means, and what a futurist is. I know enough basic German to understand that, and I understand know his history enough to understand that he is referring to his forward looking phase in the 1999s, during his creation of the Cyberpunk album. What I want to know now is what the whole article means. And further, I can read the article just fine without registering. If you would be interested in translating the whole article for me, I could email the full text to you. --Cast (talk) 11:17, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer[edit]

Wikipedia Reviewer.svg

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:33, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

Art of Italy template[edit]

The creators of templates like that need to decide whether they want templates or whether they want articles. Whoever created it had no thought whatsoever as to the way such a massive conglomeration effects the format of the article into which it is placed.

For a start, the reader is forced to look at a series of pics that are not those chosen to accompany the text. They are those chosen by the template creator. The pics that belong in the text then have to be crammed in beside the template or put below it.

This type of template is a flipping, flaming, blinking, blooming nuisance. (Please replace that string of adjectives with all the worst ones in your vocabulary).

Templates that take the form of a list have no reason to be spread out down the side of the page. Templates that serve a really useful purpose and do their job well are these:

Amandajm (talk) 11:45, 27 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply. I admit, some templates are really big and overloaded. My concern was not to remove template inclusion from single articles while others are untouched. Could we discuss that matter on a broader basis? Thanks & See you around, --Scriberius (talk) 11

PBI[edit]

PBI no longer exist in Sturgeon Bay. The shipyard closed in 1996, and their offices on 3rd are now vacant and the building is for sale.

Thanks, I will take that into consideration during future categorizations. Greetings, --Scriberius (talk) 15:48, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Mustek Systems[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Mustek Systems has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Company does not appear to be notable - quick Google reveals only trivial third-party references to Mustek.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing dated prod will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Taiwantaffy (talk) 06:13, 23 July 2010 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Backup (tactical)[edit]

Poma[edit]

Not sure how you did it, but your use of HotCat on Poma didn't work right. I reverted it because it made no sense. Please try again. —EncMstr (talk) 19:30, 26 December 2010 (UTC)

I have added the category manually. Don't understand why it was red (already 4 years old). It works fine now. --Scriberius (talk) 17:44, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
It was missing the category namespace, but since HotCat always adds that automatically, I don't understand how it could have been omitted. Anyway, all is well now. Thanks! —EncMstr (talk) 18:14, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

Republic of China article[edit]

Since you mentioned the Republic of China in your user page, I guess you are interested to share your insights at Talk:Republic of China#Requested Move (February 2012). Thanks for your attention. 61.18.170.115 (talk) 17:51, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

 • Hey. In the debate at Talk:Republic_of_China a few votes have been challenged where the reasoning hadn't been put with the vote - may I suggest you add a quick sentence or two explaining why you are pro- the move? Cheers! LukeSurl t c 20:08, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
 • I also suggest that as well. Your post is confusing. Are you supporting the current layout of the Republic of China or are you supporting Taiwan to replace the Republic of China with common name.Typhoonstorm95 (talk) 18:30, 14 March 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for January 18[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited The Ninth Gate, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ferrières (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

WikiProject C-SPAN?[edit]

Greetings fellow Wikipedia editor -

I am leaving you this note because I have reason to believe that you are interested in C-SPAN. (I may have made this assumption based on your C-SPAN user box, or perhaps for some other reason.) If this is not an interest of yours, please feel free to read no further and delete this message.

If you are in fact someone who is interested in C-SPAN, then let me put forward an idea that I have been kicking around for a while. What if we started a C-SPAN WikiProject?

The parameters of this (potential) project are up for discussion, but it could include some or all of the following (as well as things that may occur to you that have not occurred to me):

 • Creation, maintenance, and improvement of articles and lists directly related to C-SPAN and its programming.
 • Use of C-SPAN programming in citations for various topics
 • Inclusion of unique and targeted C-SPAN video links for various articles. (Doing this with respect for established guidelines at Wikipedia:External links.) (Example: If you are interested in the submarine USS Wyoming (SSBN-742), then having easy access to the eight hours of programming taped while a C-SPAN crew were guests on that submarine could also be of interest to you.)
 • Inclusion of (and possible further creation of) templated links such as laurabush, that will easily take article readers to a link of all C-SPAN Video Library links for the person about whom the article is about.
 • What else?

I don't know exactly how far we may want to go, nor in what directions, but I do believe (as I have long noted on my user page) that C-SPAN and Wikipedia are both...

...fantastic vehicles for the free exchange of ideas and information in a non-sound-bite manner, and they both invite the participation of any parties (expert or amateur) who are interested in taking the time to absorb and/or contribute to the ideas and information offered. C-SPAN and Wikipedia go together like peanut butter and jelly, and I want to help give other Wiki users easy access to the great work that C-SPAN has done on a variety of topics.

Now, I should mention that I have never started a WikiProject before, and I do not know the best way to go about it. (Perhaps one of you do?) Let me offer one of my sandbox pages, User:KConWiki/sandbox/Wikiproject C-SPAN?, as a gathering area for comments until such time as we gather enough steam to start our own WikiProject page.

Thanks for reading this far, and I hope that you will give some consideration as to whether this is something we ought to attempt. Please feel free to pass this message on to others you know whom might be interested, and please let me know your thoughts and comments.

July 2013[edit]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Gregory Harrison may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s and 2 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
 • * 1995 : [[Nothing Lasts Forever as Dr. Benjamin 'Ben' Wallace
 • * 2002 - 2003 : Strong Medicine) as Dr. Randolf Kilner

German translation and interpretation request[edit]

Hello, you are listed on the Translation Dept page as someone who can help with German Translations.

This section, Cologne_Business_School#Ranking refers to a nationwide college rating review, and the pdf is linked as a source. I removed the college's interpretative spin on the results but I am having trouble figuring out what the takeaway summary of the review would be for our article. ("They and most other schools got four out of four green dots"- isnt very helpful)

Do you mind taking a look? Thanks in advance! -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 01:53, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

I haven't seen a summary so all the results for one topic oughta be summarized separately. This would take some hours which I don't want to sacrifice (data from 2010! and published in 2011 and an obscure review practice of CHE) for a commercial school. BFN, --Scriberius (talk) 19:25, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
That makes sense, if it is obscure measurement we can just take it out. Thank you!-- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 21:52, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

Wiki Loves Pride[edit]

You are invited! Wiki Loves Pride

You are invited to participate in Wiki Loves Pride, a global campaign to create and improve LGBT-related content at Wikipedia during the month of June, culminating with a multinational edit-a-thon on June 21. The Wiki Loves Pride edit-a-thon will be held on Saturday, June 21 from noon–4pm at Smith Memorial Student Union, Room 236 at Portland State University. Prior Wikipedia editing is not required; assistance will be available the day of the event. Attendees should bring their own laptops and cords.

Feel free to showcase your work here!
