Children of Dune[edit]

I've reverted your new addition to the Children of Dune because, as well-written as it is, that kind of unsourced analysis is considered original research. As editors we are not allowed to draw conclusions or contrast works this way. If you can find a reliable outside source which makes these points, by all means paraphrase or quote them and provide references (I can help you with the technical aspects of this if you need assistance). Again, I do not disagree with or dislike what you have written, but the bulk of it is inappropriately presented. TAnthony 21:40, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Hello, TAnthony.
I'm sure you've forgotten by now, but you re-edited some original-opinion-type contextual comments I added to the CHILDREN OF DUNE page, and left me a note about it.
I just wanted tot hank you for taking the trouble to let me know; I'm new to Wikipedia, and since I have strongly-held (and, i flatter myself, well-reasoned) opinions about my favorite fiction, it's better to learn what's OK and not OK sooner rather than later.
So thanks again.
It's a little sad, though - I'm sure that it's for the best, but it does feel like the proscription of "original research" prohibits some really wonderful critical reflection, especially when it comes to works of fiction or other imaginative work. Not complaining, just pondering.
Anyway, thanks again.

Thanks for the message; I certainly didn't object to the content or quality of your work. And of course, a less-strict member of the "Dune police" basically put it back with a "needs sources" message (an I didn't object). I could've done the same, but I don't know that any references will surface, and ultimately unsourced material has to go.
It is indeed a little annoying in many cases that "original" critical analysis has no place here, but that's just not what Wikipedia is. There are other wikis devoted only to Dune that may be more accepting. In any case, thanks for your contributions and keep on editing! — TAnthonyTalk 04:25, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:BakyEndre.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:BakyEndre.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 17:00, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

July 2008[edit]

Information.png Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to Austro-Prussian War has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thanks. Sorry about that. It was a careless on my part. You did nothing wrong, and I appreciate that edit:-) I'm mainly a vandal fighter, and I use a tools called Huggle. What happened was I saw vandalism, and hit the revert button, but it switched to your version right before I hit the revert button, and it reverted your version instead. I'm usually good at noticing when that happens, but I guess I missed it this time:-P Sorry about that! Happy editing:-D--SJP Chat 18:37, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
No problem, and thank you for being understanding:-) I really appreciate it. Happy editing! if you have a question feel free to ask me.--SJP Chat 01:07, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

Re:Huggle[edit]

My apologies for that. I knew it was a mistake, but apparently I forgot to fix it... (I saw "Mad King Ludwig" and reflexed :/ ) Sorry about that. Thingg 00:07, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Ludwig II of Bavaria[edit]

Thanks for your work on Ludwig II of Bavaria; some of it looks pretty good. However, two sections, Ludwig II of Bavaria#Ludwig’s castles and Ludwig II of Bavaria#Buildings, are still a little repetitive and should be merged further, and parts of Buildings, especially Linderhof, were left in a bad state through the cutting and pasting. I'm not sure of everything you did and what you wanted so I am hesitant to make any major changes. If you can, please finish the good job you started on this article, and you may want to use the German Wikipedia's edition as a guide. Thanks! Reywas92Talk 21:00, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Szalasioath.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Szalasioath.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 21:15, 16 April 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The 48 hours is for Wikipedia, on Commons its longer. A license is missing: As a 1945 photo this is not public domain in any case, the copyright term is 70 years following the photographers death, so minimum 70 years. A source (where was this published) is completely missing. --Martin H. (talk) 21:15, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
