Tagging your user page[edit]

Regarding this edit to your user page, I have to insist on reverting it. At present, your user page is designed to look exactly like a Wikipedia article. To ensure that it is not mistaken for one, it needs to be tagged. Please don't remove the tag again. Favonian (talk) 21:18, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

Your recent edits[edit]

Information.svg Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button Insert-signature.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 21:19, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

July 2011[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Indo Global Education Foundation a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Favonian (talk) 16:31, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

I have now merged the edit histories and renamed the article in accordance with the new official name. Please don't ever do that again! Favonian (talk) 16:39, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

Holla and Punjab Technical University[edit]

Pardon me for intruding. Paraphrase most of it. Put into quotations that which is particularly important (but not a whole lot), and then put in a citation. That should cure the problem. Welcome!

October 2011[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Punjab Technical University, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Please peruse WP:Section caps. Please fix other articles in which you did this incorrectly. Muhandes (talk) 09:36, 19 October 2011 (UTC)

Please also peruse WP:CREDENTIAL --Muhandes (talk) 10:21, 19 October 2011 (UTC)
Please also peruse MOS:FLAG, don't introduce flag icons to infoboxes. --Muhandes (talk) 10:26, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
Since you expressed a willingness to improve on my talk page, here are some more notes that will help you get better:
Since you are writing about universities and colleges, WP:UNIGUIDE is very helpful. Specifically, I find that many editors add a list of all the programmes in the university, which is a bad idea from the reason this guidelines lists.
Whenever you are using abbreviation (e.g. AICTE) use the full name at the first occurrence and link to it, like this: All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). You can the use the abbreviation later in the article. See WP:ABBR.
"About" sections are redundant. The summary of the article belongs in the lead (see WP:LEAD) not in a section.
I hope this is helpful. Feel free to ask any questions. --Muhandes (talk) 10:52, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
Another note: per Wikipedia:Manual of Style#Section headings, headings are in sentence case, not title case. That means you don't capitalize every word. Best. --Muhandes (talk) 10:57, 2 November 2011 (UTC)

Image[edit]

I'm trying to make sure I understand what you meant by this edit. Your edit summary says "copyrighted uploaded image, Copied from website. Not original work". Are you saying this image was copied from the website and is not your original work? If so, you should ask for its removal from the commons. --Muhandes (talk) 20:26, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

WikiProject India Tag & Assess 2012 Contest[edit]

Hello friends, we are a number of editors from WikiProject India have got together to assess the many thousands of articles under the stewardship of the project, and we'd love to have you, a fellow member, join us. These articles require assessment, that is, the addition of a WikiProject template to the talk page of an article, assessing it for quality and importance and adding a few extra parameters to it.

As of March 11, 2012, 07:00 UTC, WikiProject India has 95,998 articles under its stewardship. Of these 13,980 articles are completely unassessed (both for class and importance) and another 42,415 articles are unassessed for importance only. Accordingly, a Tag & Assess 2012 drive-cum-contest has begun from March 01, 2012 to last till May 31, 2012.

If you are new to assessment, you can learn the minimum about how to evaluate from Part One of the Assessment Guide. Part Two of the Guide will help you learn to employ the full functionality of the talk page template, should you choose to do so.

You can sign up on the Tag & Assess page. There are a number of awards to be given in recognition of your efforts. Come & join us to take part in this exciting new venture. You'll learn more about India in this way.

Orphaned non-free media (File:Punjab technical University Logo.png)[edit]

Ambox warning blue.svg Thanks for uploading File:Punjab technical University Logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 06:06, 2 December 2012 (UTC)
