Admin[edit]

Hi Skully, I've been keeping an eye on your edits over the past few weeks, and I think you should be a admin. Is it alright if I nominated you to be an admin? Davnel03 16:30, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've gone along and nominated you, but before you are listed, you need to accept the nomination and answer three questions at this link. The instructions should be self-explanatory, but further instructions are found here. Good luck!! Davnel03 09:44, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RFA[edit]

Hi! I have closed your RFA before its scheduled closure as it does not appear to be heading toward community support. Regards, =Nichalp «Talk»= 16:10, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Phill[edit]

Should we be assuming from your sig change that you'd rather be called Phill than Skully? If so, my apologies! Cheers. 4u1e 21 March 2007, 17:15

Congratulations (again!)[edit]

I'm starting to think we should have some kind of award for F1 FAs! Anyway - that's the hat trick I think, so well done for all your hard work (and for putting up with niggling questions from me!). Cheers. 4u1e 19:19, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations[edit]

Congrats for the Tom Pryce FA! Great achievement. Readro 21:26, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A little something...[edit]

I think reaching the milestone of getting three Formula One FAs promoted deserves some kind of more permanent 'thank you', and the original barnstar seemed like the best one, so here you go:

I'll admit to helping with them, but most importantly, you provided the drive to actually push them through each stage of the process! 4u1e 06:10, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is this a Formula BMW car?[edit]

Heya, need a bit of help identifying a car from a load of pictures I'm importing from flickr. I think it's a Formula BMW car, but I'm not too familiar with the series. I know you did some editing on FBMW articles so thought you might be able to confirm it. The picture is at http://www.flickr.com/photos/exfordy/186642151/ Thanks,AlexJ 00:49, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

F1 records succession boxes[edit]

Hi Skully. I've noticed the "F1 records" succession boxes you've added recently. I wonder if it would be worth wikilinking the titles to the relevant section within List of Formula One records, e.g. in Fernando Alonso you could have linked "Youngest Grand Prix Race Winner" to List_of_Formula_One_records#Youngest_Winners. What do you think? -- DH85868993 11:25, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Passing GAs[edit]

Just wanted to make sure you know how to complete the GA template when passing an article; see this diff, and the instructions at WP:GAC (this info is needed for the GimmeBot conversion to ArticleHistory template). Regards, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 00:12, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I need some help on the "MoS", its the only minus thing i havent improved, and I don't really get it. What needs to be done. Otherwise I think the article is fine. SpecialWindler 09:16, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your Featured picture candidate has been promoted
Your nomination for featured picture status, Image:Kimi Raikkonen 2007.jpg, gained a consensus of support, and has been promoted. If you would like to nominate another image, please do so at Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates. Thank you for nominating it! KFP (talk | contribs) 12:07, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for nominating this image, which I originally uploaded to WikiCommons. Hopefully we can find some more good F1 images to add to the two featured ones!--Diniz 14:43, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that's a good ides, as the Wikipedia:Featured picture criteria can be quite vague when applied to particular fileds of photography. I'm not sure about my judgement though, as at one stage I really thought this image could be featured. ;) Also, I notice that no-one has uploaded the Bourdais photo, so I'm on it!--Diniz 15:30, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. The "talk" section of your signature links to your user page, and not your user talk page.
I'll go and start a discussion.--Diniz 15:45, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GAC backlog elimination drive[edit]

This form message is being sent to you either due to your membership with WikiProject Good Articles and/or your inclusion on the Wikipedia:Good article candidates/List of reviewers. A new drive has been started requesting that all members review at least one article (or more, if you wish!) within the next two weeks at GAC to help in removing the large backlog. This message is being sent to all members, and even members who have been recently reviewing articles. There are almost 130 members in this project and about 180 articles that currently need to be reviewed. If each member helps to review just one or two articles, the majority of the backlog will be cleared. Since the potential amount of reviewers may significantly increase, please make sure to add :{{GAReview}} underneath the article you are reviewing to ensure that only one person is reviewing each article. Additionally, the GA criteria may have been modified since your last review, so look over the criteria again to help you to determine if a candidate is GA-worthy. If you have any questions about this drive or the review process, leave a message on the GAC talk page. --Nehrams2020 00:53, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

First off, let me say that we appreciate your time in reviewing this article for GA. User has edited the article to answer your suggestions, and I gave it an all-around read making minor tweaks and fixes. Would you please review it again to see if it meets the GA criteria? Any further suggestions are also appreciated. Thanks again. - Mtmelendez (Talk|UB|Home) 21:27, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Manchester Meetup[edit]

Hi, just getting in touch because you expressed an interest in the meetup here. Some people have expressed a view that they would be able to make it were the date moved from Fri 8 June to Sat 9 June. Obviously its now getting pretty close, so I thought a quick poll would be the best the way to find out the better day. If you're still interested, it would be great if you could say whether you can make either or both days here. Thanks, WjBscribe 16:47, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free use disputed for Image:Invisible Touch (Single).jpg[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Invisible Touch (Single).jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:51, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Intheairtonight Video1.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Intheairtonight Video1.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:57, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Phill. I noticed your recent edits to Kimi Räikkönen and Felipe Massa. You may or may not be aware, we had a discussion about the extra engine detail recently added to numerous articles by Vitz-RS. As I indicated in the discussion, I'm not fussed whether the extra detail is there or not, but if you feel strongly that it shouldn't be there, you may care to know that Vitz-RS updated quite a few articles. I feel more strongly about the other changes you made (removing the constructor links). Having separate links to both constructor and chassis is the standard format we've been using for quite a while now. If you disagree, perhaps we can discuss it at WP:F1 before you update any more articles? Thanks. DH85868993 11:04, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In the meantime, I've restored the constructor links (but not the engine detail) in Kimi Räikkönen and Felipe Massa. DH85868993 15:36, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Henrik Larsson[edit]

I've gone through the points for Henrik Larsson to pass GA. Mattythewhite 17:58, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I know its a notable milestone however I don't think that it belongs in notes. I think that the notes section under classification should be restricted to information direct to the race classification, not trivial facts. - T. Moitie [talk] 16:12, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I understand what you're saying about the users and the ease of use, but when it's there, to me, it seems completely out of context. I mean, drivers get their "first points" all the time. Why would the reader need to know this in the results section? If they're looking in results they're after the results, not extra information. I always see the notes section as a place to put in information that either helps the reader interpret the results, or important information relating directly to what happened in the race. The very reason the note section is there inside the classification section is for the extra race facts. Not trivial ones. Also the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix article has no Notes section. - Gotta love a good argument :) T. Moitie [talk] 19:58, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Good Article Medal of Merit[edit]

The Good Article Medal of Merit
I have awarded you this medal for your work in helping to reduce the backlog during the Good Article Candidates Backlog Elmination Drive. You reviewed five or more articles during the drive, which helped to contribute to the large decrease in the backlog. If you have the time, please continue to review articles to help make sure the backlog does not jump back up to what it was. Good job and happy editing! Nehrams2020 06:40, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alain Prost[edit]

I've suggested what looks like the middle ground at the Alain Prost talk page (regarding team mate comparisons). I'd be grateful if you could comment on whether you're willing to accept it. Cheers. 4u1e 14:22, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Phill, I've just put a comment in about the white stripe on the tyre, along with two references.

Also, I am very sorry about our differences earlier in the year, and I apologise if the comment I made about you personally insulted you. Davnel03 16:16, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you can find the thing out of the Autosport magazine about the white tyre markings, that'll be great. Thanks. Davnel03 14:22, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Added it to article, as seen in this edit. Thanks. If there are any additional problems, leave a message on the FAC page. Davnel03 16:15, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

July 2007 GAC backlog elimination drive[edit]

A new elimination drive of the backlog at Wikipedia:Good article candidates will take place from the month of July through August 12, 2007. There are currently about 130 articles that need to be reviewed right now. If you are interested in helping with the drive, then please visit Wikipedia:Good article candidates backlog elimination drive and record the articles that you have reviewed. Awards will be given based on the number of reviews completed. If you have any questions about this drive or the review process, leave a message on the drive's talk page. Please help to eradicate the backlog to cut down on the waiting time for articles to be reviewed.

You have received this message either due to your membership with WikiProject: Good Articles and/or your inclusion on the Wikipedia:Good article candidates/List of reviewers. --Nehrams2020 03:25, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
