Ground rivers

I'm not sure if the author of Ground rivers was writing about subterranean rivers or aquifers. I was going to let the article lie for a bit to see if any further clarification was offered. But I can't say I disagree with your redirect. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 13:36, 27 April 2012 (UTC)

Well the article's content lead me to think it is about subterranean river, though I couldn't find any source for it. I have reverted my edit per your concern. --SMS Talk 13:48, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
Google hits aren't a definitive indicator [1], but this suggests that the term has little or no traction, and may even be a neologism. 99.156.68.128 (talk) 13:51, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
I also searched Google books. You are right it seem it is neologism. --SMS Talk 13:54, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
Rather than a neologism, I suspect it is the result of poor translation. The author appears to be from Saudi Arabia, and has written several published papers on this topic. All papers were published in English, although all papers have been published only in Saudi Arabia. I have suggested a merge to Groundwater, and am awaiting comment from the author on the merge proposal. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 12:46, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

  • I have replied on my talk page but seeing the above thread and this [2] does not give confidence into your editing habits. i feel that you certainly need to look at Wikipedia:Assume bad faith to improve-- ÐℬigXЯaɣ 15:15, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
I have read your reply. I think the issue is over, lets not dig it again, that will not bring any good for everyone. Regards --SMS Talk 15:20, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
I am cool, I was just concerned about the WP:BATTLEGROUND mentality shown in the above thread, -- ÐℬigXЯaɣ 16:41, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
On a second thought you can try WP:RFCU or try WP:ANI against me. Thanks --SMS Talk 16:54, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
is this another provocation ? -- ÐℬigXЯaɣ 17:14, 29 April 2012 (UTC)

Hey

I was thinking to nominate Pakistan for GA status. Perhaps needed your help as I m already busy with 5 more articles to be nominated in future and you might be having more knowledge of the country then me obviously. Your help will be really valuable. Yasht101 13:22, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

As TG has told the article is ready for FA nomination but the ongoing disputes on the talk page is the main hurdle. I will be glad to help you anyway. And for background TopGun, September88 and Mar4d were developing the article lately and nominated it for FA in February, where it was declined. Most of the concerns raised there were addressed and copy editing was done by Stfg. So now I only see the pending issues left on the talk like an RFC, whenever they are addressed it will be good to go. --SMS Talk 14:37, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
I second that. I think it'd be best to give it a break and maybe work on the article slowly over the course of a couple of weeks and then think of something big. Currently, there are some other disputes going on too, so it's a good idea to wait until the dust is settled for that too. Mar4d (talk) 16:26, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

Suggestion

Might be a good idea to add links to the GHQ and AHQ articles that you created recently into Template:Military of Pakistan, Template:Pakistan Army and Template:Pakistan Air Force (and other templates, if I've missed any). Mar4d (talk) 05:53, 5 May 2012 (UTC)

Sure, I will be doing it today. --SMS Talk 12:21, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
Done. Thanks for pointing out. Seems like these templates were the only one among Category:Pakistan military templates. Please correct, if you find I have misplaced the links. --SMS Talk 20:14, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
Thanks! Could you also create an article for the Naval Headquarters?... that seems to be the only article missing now. Mar4d (talk) 14:09, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
Done. Naval Headquarters (Pakistan Navy) and Joint Staff Headquarters (Pakistan)‎. --SMS Talk 21:43, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
👍 Mar4d likes this. Mar4d (talk) 03:45, 12 May 2012 (UTC)

See if you can add anything... I've a lot of stuff to add still. --lTopGunl (talk) 03:17, 12 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi!

You might want to expand the article Pakistan_at_the_2011_Commonwealth_Youth_Games which I created.I am creating the articles of all the nations in the games hence it is a stub. Thanks!Srikar Kashyap<<Talk>>05:43, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

Sorry for a little late reply. I will surely take a look. --SMS Talk 09:48, 12 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi, I have been working on the article for some time to improve the quality and quantity of content and references in hope of taking it to GA status at some point. I think it needs some work before requesting for copy-editing and then nomination process. Can you help along especially in the reference section. Samar (Talk . Contributions) 17:33, 11 May 2012 (UTC)

Sure. I was also thinking of improving the article. --SMS Talk 17:46, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
To start with Across the Wagah by Maneesha Tikekar (page 23-63) is a good source. I will further comment on the article talk. --SMS Talk 17:47, 12 May 2012 (UTC)
Hmmmm, can I get away without reading a book for now, trust me I already have enough piled on my desk and they belong to the dreaded 'textbook' category. Btw an Indian's sojourn in Pakistan sounds amazing. Samar (Talk . Contributions) 18:52, 12 May 2012 (UTC)
Same situation here. Ok I will read it and see what content to add from it and some other books. --SMS Talk 12:18, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

Related to images; I created the montage a long time ago after painful arguments with the image-copyright-police and it seems one of the images is now deleted. Any good ones available? Samar (Talk . Contributions) 18:58, 12 May 2012 (UTC)

Probably you are referring to Serena Hotel image. Well there are many good images will list them soon. --SMS Talk 12:18, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

Khewra Salt Mine

Hi SMS. I'm now working on the copy edit you requested for Khewra Salt Mine. A bit less tense, I hope :) Anyway, near the end of the lede, it mentions both tons and tonnes, and I wanted to check the sources for consistency. However, in FN10, which is this, I can't see the 200-million-tonne (or ton) figure anywhere. I see the 600 million tons, and the 2 million at Warcha, but that seems to be all. Can you help me please? --Stfg (talk) 11:16, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for considering my request. Certainly less tense but you may find errors like these, I don't know how did I place it here probably just copied it from the Production section. Well here is another source for this which says 35 million tons reserves + 47 million tons left as pillars (Total≈82 million tons):
Natural Resources of Humid Tropical Asia (Natural Resources Research) (1st ed.). UNESCO. 1974. p. 101. ISBN 978-9231010569. Retrieved 14 May 2012. {{cite book}}: Unknown parameter |month= ignored (help)
--SMS Talk 12:08, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
Oh, ah. Shall we use both references and say that the reserves have been placed variously at around 82 million and around 600 milion tons? By the way, the reference (FN10) gives the thickness of 2000 ft for the "Lower Saline Marl Member of the Punjab Saline series" and only says that the deposits are in that. The sum of the seams listed is less. Should we omit the thickness figure? --Stfg (talk) 13:35, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
Yes giving a range rather than a figure is more appropriate unless we are sure about a certain one. And about the thickness, I didn't notice the given thickness is not specifically of the Khewra mine rather the saline marl where the mine exists. In this case it should be omitted. --SMS Talk 17:08, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
Very good. I've made the necessary changes. Kind regards, --Stfg (talk) 18:17, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

I set up that discovered attack for you. You forgot his knight on h3 was hanging!--Jasper Deng (talk) 22:29, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

Lol! even the edit summary. Hasty move. --lTopGunl (talk) 23:05, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
Yeah it was a hasty move. Now it looks like my eyes were closed. Should have seen Jasper's edit summary. --SMS Talk 02:26, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi there, User:Smsarmad,

I've recently been editing a page called "RINJ," specifically the section titled, "Controversy." Another user, who I suspect is aligned with the group RINJ and Wikipedia editor Micheal O'Brien, has been removing my edits and calling them vandalism. I admit I am a novice editor of Wikipedia, but I am not a novice user of encyclopedias or uneducated about the subject matter. Personally, I question the validity of the entry in the first place, but it was already challenged by someone else, I believe. Anyway, I was hoping you would take a look at RINJ and perhaps give me your input on the subject, and consider lending your support in ensuring the page is complete. Much appreciated.BestDef (talk) 00:11, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

followup discussion

of the csd numbers of Dipankan001: be careful: only because the removed links were/are blue, it doesn't mean they weren't deleted! {{db-commons}}/shadowcommons is tricky because although they get deleted, the link is still blue because at commons is an image with that color. While checking the CSD results again, I also noticed that many red links were wrongly tagged/deleted because of another reason and thus even my calculation of 97% s wrong. mabdul 14:49, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

I realized that after your comment but didn't get time to do another check of his CSD log. Will take care of that in future. Besides this, probably need to ask Scottywong to make a tool for calculating CSD contributions of a user, Scotty once showed interest in developing a tool for this. --SMS Talk 16:25, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
Yeah good idea, for non admins it is really not easy to check if a CSD was valid moreover for an active NPP 100 CSDs are not much and it is really hard for a user(!Voter) to determine if the calculation was correct. mabdul 17:48, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

ACC

Hi Smsarmad - just a quick reminder to always sign custom closes with your username! This is useful for both the end-user and other ACC team members/admins if an issue arises. Best wishes. Mato (talk) 11:25, 22 May 2012 (UTC)

Ok, will surely do in future and thanks. --SMS Talk 13:15, 22 May 2012 (UTC)

Pakistan national movement

Salam Smsarmad! I am just getting in touch to let you know that I have created the article Pakistan national movement. I think that You can help to improve it. I would appreciate any assistance you could provide in improving this article. Regards Averroist (talk) 15:45, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for cleaning up the trash. One angry fellow, eh? :) Any idea who this IP might be apart from being a vandal.... a sockpuppet perhaps? Mar4d (talk) 07:55, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

Aah, just saw [this. You're probably right. Mar4d (talk) 08:49, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
