To start off the discussion, let me say a few things. First off, that if you make a comment here I'll reply to it here, unless you request that I reply on your page. Second, I will be serious here, while editing, and during any discussions, unless I have good reason not to be. Third, please start all new conversations by using a new heading. Best regards.--Song

WikiProject Articles needing copy edit (tentative name)[edit]

Hello there!

I have begun laying the groundwork for a new WikiProject that has a very simple goal, to improve Wikipedia by dealing with the articles tagged for copy edit, and I am wondering if you are interested in helping me start it. This project is not a clone of WP:LOCE because we will not deal with requests for review (that is currently handled by our good friends over at Peer Review).

I expect that this will be a relaxed, happy and casual WikiProject, because participants will be able to take things at their own pace and use the project page to ask other participants for help. The project proposal is here, and I have created an almost-functional project page in my userspace here.

There are now over 4000 articles needing copy edit, and very, very few people working on them, so any help, however small, is appreciated. If you are interested, please sign up at the proposal page. Once we have enough people, I will shift the project page, along with its subpages from my userspace into the Wikipedia namespace. For now we can use this section of my talk page to discuss the direction and details of the project, and, of course, its name. *grin*

Hey there, great to see you've joined! The influx of members has been very encouraging. :) -Samuel Tan 07:15, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
Heh. Asking the former members of LOCE was a good idea- they're the ones interested in copy-editing. Glad to see there's still someone who cares about this. Song (talk) 20:09, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Your busy lifestyle[edit]

I know how you feel. I wanted to write a book but was in the same situation as you, I just couldn't settle down! I advise that you stop trying to write a book and forget about it. If a sudden urge to write appears, feed it. Trust me, I have about ten half finished stories but i'm not half as stressed as I used to be; and if you were wondering, i'm a teenager too. If you respond, please respond on my user page. Wikisaver62 (talk) 08:08, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Grab some glory, and a barnstar[edit]

Hi, I'd like to invite you to participate in the Guild of Copy Editors July 2010 Backlog Elimination Drive. In May, about 30 editors helped remove the {{copyedit}} tag from 1175 articles. The backlog is still over 7500 articles, and extends back to the beginning of 2008! We really need your help to reduce it. Copyediting just a couple articles can qualify you for a barnstar. Serious copyeditors can win prestigious and exclusive rewards. See the event page for more information. And thanks for your consideration. ɳorɑfʈ Talk! 15:21, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

GOCE drive invitation[edit]

Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors

The latest GOCE backlog elimination drive is under way! It began on 1 July and so far 18 people have signed up to help us reduce the number of articles in need of copyediting.

This drive will give a 50% bonus for articles edited from the GOCE requests page. Although we have cleared the backlog of 2009 articles there are still 3,935 articles needing copyediting and any help, no matter how small, would be appreciated.

We are appealing to all GOCE members, and any other editors who wish to participate, to come and help us reduce the number of articles needing copyediting, as well as the backlog of requests. If you have not signed up yet, why not take a look at the current signatories and help us by adding your name and copyediting a few articles. Barnstars will be given to anyone who edits more than 4,000 words, with special awards for the top 5 in the categories: "Number of articles", "Number of words", and "Number of articles of over 5,000 words".

Help please[edit]

Hi. I am Jivesh. I edit strictly Beyonce-related articles on Wikipedia. I was wondering if you could do a copy-edit of 1+1 (song) for me? Please reply on my talk-page. Waiting in anticipation. JiveshTalk2Me 11:48, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
