inre Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Proposition for a Revolution[edit]

You wrote the most cogent thing at the AFD with your "Of course, there could be Indian sources we're overlooking"... which prompted me to look for them using the search engine over at WP:INDAFD, allowing me to find MANY independent sources speaking about this film... enough so that I felt its production met the caveats toward determining notability for planned films as set by WP:NFF (paragraph 3). The nominator has withdrawn. What say? Schmidt, Michael Q. 06:10, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

Thanks you for revisiting. I also just spent some time addressing the article's issue of tone and it not using independent sources.[1] Face-smile.svg Schmidt, Michael Q. 02:11, 3 July 2014 (UTC)

When I block promotional usernames[edit]

Hi Taylor; thank you for asking.

I block promotional usernames under two circumstances:

  • When they have edited to promote, or about a subject related to their name, in mainspace or in userspace. Exceptions:
    • When they have begun working in draft space or in their sandboxes, and the article has not been marked as an AfC submission (I think the software does this automatically now, actually).
    • When they directly create in AfC.
    • When they edit the main sandbox, which is both partly the point of the sandbox and, for that reason, a place so self-defeatingly lousy for promotional purposes that anyone who actually thinks that was a good idea should be fired immediately by any sensible marketing person.
  • When, regardless of whether or what they've edited, the name includes elements that unambiguously suggest intent to use for shared promotional purposes, i.e., something like (an exaggeration, but you get the idea): "Consolidated Amalgamated Widget Company Corporate Communications Department".

Disambiguation link notification for July 13[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Gene Ruggiero, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Tarzan, the Ape Man. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

FAC tidying[edit]

Hi Taylor, I notice you've been fixing the title placements after FACs have been manually closed -- do you think we need to finetune the instructions at User:Maralia/FA bot or is it a case of a having a polite word to the good people making the closures? Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 08:13, 18 July 2014 (UTC)

I think adding it to the instructions would be fine. Perhaps I could leave a note with the closers. Taylor Trescott - my talk + my edits 14:08, 18 July 2014 (UTC)

Featured Article Removal[edit]

Hi. Relatively new to wikipedia and noticed you removed my suggestion for a featured article. Was curious to know where I had gone wrong and what I should do next time to get it right DrColePorter (talk) 12:51, 22 July 2014 (UTC)

@DrColePorter: Hello there and thanks for leaving this message. I reverted your addition to the Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests/pending page because it is for future requests for an article to appear in the today's featured article slot. The article you added, The Greyness of Autumn, is not currently a featured article, so it is not eligible to appear. Articles become featured by passing through the featured article candidates process. Let me know if you have any other questions. Taylor Trescott - my talk + my edits 21:14, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
Crikey, sorry i think thats the page i meant to put it on to for it to get picked up. Sorry about that DrColePorter (talk) 23:18, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
