[edit] Barnstar (thanks)
Hi, welcome to Wikipedia and a great thanks for the barnstar :) I hope that you stay and contribute a lot, and you will surely have a number of barnstars! -- Ynhockey (Talk) 13:32, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you also for the award. From your contributions, you seem to be going alphabetically down a list of users giving them all barnstars. While it is very kind of you to take the time to do that, I hope that you'll also make some edits to the encyclopedia itself as well. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a note on my talk page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by A Train (talk • contribs) 18:28, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Christmas Card
[edit] CE and AD
Per the Manual o' Style either date format is acceptable, but switching them "just cause" is not. Cheers, WilyD 15:54, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Offensive content on your userpage
Please remove this content from your userpage, as it is not civil and is a personal attack. I realize that your userpage is yours, but hateful and derogatory content is not acceptable (see here for guidelines). Thank you, Master of Puppets Care to share? 03:13, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
- I just removed more offensive content. You seem to think that this is Facebook or some other place where your page is for your friends and your self-expression. It is not. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and user-pages are part of the scaffolding that makes constructing the encyclopedia possible. Inappropriate content is not allowed on user pages, just as it is not allowed on articles pages. Slrubenstein | Talk 09:11, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Thank You!

[edit] Thanks
Thanks for the barnstar. That was very kind of you. Is there anything in particular that you found useful about my edits? I notice you are diligently welcoming newcomers - well done. JFW | T@lk 00:02, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Respectful decline of your barnstar
While I appreciate the spirit of positivity in the barnstar you've offered me, I don't feel I can accept it in good faith, given that it doesn't seem connected to anything I've done, and you appear to be giving them out randomly. In my opinion, barnstars only mean something when they're given in recognition for specific work that an editor has done.
(Besides, insofar as you used once posted a statement that "Gay people and there supporters are not aloud on my user page", I'm apparently not welcome here as someone who believes in equal rights and respect for people of all persuasions. I won't mention the improper use of "there", which is in some ways more offensive.)
I second the comment made above encouraging you to spend more time editing the encyclopædia and less time attempting to build friendships with other people. – Scartol • Tok 05:58, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] ??
and why are my userboxes offensive? the_ed17 16:46, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- and thanks for not responding. This is an ENCYCLOPEDIA!!! Not Myspace. I keep the two separate, I think you can too. Thanks. the_ed17 01:52, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] You need to start editing the encyclopedia
By looking at your contributions, The4532, it seems that you've mistaken Wikipedia for a social network. Your interactions with other users are sometimes provocative and rarely beneficial for the encyclopedia. I suggest that you start making constructive edits to articles. If you continue being disruptive, I will block your account. A Traintalk 18:57, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Brunettes userbox
I just thought I'd let you know that Krimpet (talk · contribs) took it on herself to delete the brunettes userbox you were using. This follows other subjects about women she has chosen to take on herself whether or not they should be on Wikipedia the past two weeks, including starting an "edit war" on the DYK section of the main page.[1] Thought you might want to know.--King Bedford I Seek his grace 23:30, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
[edit] You maybe interested in the Article Rescue Squadron
I notice some of your templates on your user page, and I would like you to consider joining the Article Rescue Squadron. Rescue Squadron members are focused on rescuing articles for deletion, that might otherwise be lost forever to Wikipedia, you may find our project matches your vision of Wikipedia.

[edit] Wikipedia Campus Ambassadors wanted in Troy, Alabama
Hi! I'm leaving you this message because you're a member of WikiProject Alabama. The Wikipedia Ambassador Program is currently looking for Campus Ambassadors to help with Wikipedia assignments at Troy University, which will be participating in the Public Policy Initiative for the Spring 2011 semester. The role of Campus Ambassadors will be to provide face-to-face training and support for students on Wikipedia-related skills (how to edit articles, how to add references, etc.). This includes doing in-class presentations, running workshops and labs, possibly holding office hours, and in general providing in-person mentorship for students.
Prior Wikipedia skills are not required for the role, as training will be provided for all Campus Ambassadors (although, of course, being an experienced editor is a plus).
I know Alabama is a big state, but if you happen to live near Troy and you are interested in being a Wikipedia Campus Ambassador, or know someone else from Troy who might be, please email me or leave a message on my talk page.--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 16:33, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
